  1. Thanks for the weather advice, fellas. I'll be sure to bring a light jacket!
  2. I had been looking at Pelican Hill, so this just confirms it! Thanks so much everyone for your input. I'm a terrible golfer, but I love it. If I can find a course with great scenery, it makes it easier for me and those around me to tolerate my game. :D
  3. All of those courses look beautiful, but I was really wanting to play an ocean-view course....
  4. Hey Guys, I'm going to have some time next tuesday to squeeze in a round. I'm from Missouri, but will be in California for the week for a trade show. I'd love to play an ocean view course for the experience, but don't want to pay $500 for Pebble (someday). I'm going to be in Anaheim - but can drive within reason (couldn't leave for the course though until around 11:30AM or so that day). So, anyone have any suggestions? Anyone free to join me? :D
  5. My wife and I played at Coyote Springs, and it was FANTASTIC. It might be slightly more than 30 minutes (45 or so), but well worth it. http://www.coyotesprings.com/
  6. Awesome! Your progress in inspiring for those of us in a similar skill set to yours. It sounds like you are getting the basics down, so now you need to work on your short game. Congrats!
  7. It's encouraging to read your progress. I enjoy this game, but man I freakin' struggle with it! I've been playing for a couple of years and have taken probably 10 lessons or so, but I still push the ball to the right so much that it's bascially useless to try and play. Or at least I did. I just played last weekend for the first time this year and played better than I ever have in terms of ball striking. I didn't push the ball much, and hit some very nice shots and drives. I actually bogey'ed the first four holes, which for me is an AMAZING accomplishment. Keep up the good work, and keep posting here with your updates to keep guys like me motivated! :D
  8. Thank you all for the great replies. It sounds like I just need to see what fortune has in store for me and go to the course to see who shows up! I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
  9. Hey Guys, I'd like to find a regular group of golfers to play with. Problem is I don't know any one that wants to or can play regularly (2-4 times per month). And the people I find will need to be patient, because I still suck (shoot around 115 currently). Any ideas on how to find good partners to play with regularly in my area?
  10. One of the issues I have as a relatively new golfer is understand all of the jargon. I thought I was hinging my wrists correctly, but after reading these posts and spending some time on the range, I'm thinking that I don't. Does anybody have any good visual (pics or videos) of exactly what a properly hinged wrist looks like?
  11. Hello Everyone, I've been reading this forum for over a year, but never registered. Looking forward to meeting some fellow golfers. My game sucks. I like to play, and would like to break 100 this year...
  12. Like most people I find the range to be helpful in working out the mechanics, but obviously doesn't help much with strategy. I will sometimes try to play the range like it's an actual hole, but usually I'm just trying to figure out how it's possible for one man to suck this bad! :)
  13. I don't have any tips to help you, other than to say that I have the same issues. We should play a round some time. :D
  14. What part of Arkansas do you live? I'm in Springfield, MO, and I plan to play a round in the Fayetteville area on June 14/15...
  15. I run a couple of full-line instrumental music stores. I'm one of those lucky people that has done what I love all of my life...
