Anyone know what kind of club this is???
Hack2putt replied to jtothebarno's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
that might be a patent or patent pending number on the sole...go to the USPTO and do a 'quick search'...might help. ps i love the brass ferrule, very cool indeed -
did you counter weight your driver or are you ok with the higher swing weight?
-
what do you have in your driver and 3 wood? Is your driver 43"?
-
I've really enjoyed reading this thread, I hesitate to comment lol...as in I hesitate to comment on anyone's swing unless they're family, friends or they ask ;-) and even then it's a dicey thing to do on the course.

Adding measurements from laser to yardage book for tournaments
Hack2putt replied to flopster's topic in Rules of Golf
Using any information gathered and written down in a yardage book from an electronic device during practice is OK...since the yardage book isn't an electronic device... -
not in your woods either?

-
your soooo right!
-
I have the Aerotech Players Spec Stiff(flowed) in both my TM MB's and TM RBZ Tour sets...I don't see myself going back to steel with current shaft technology...

Sorry I should have been more specific, taking beaver tails from the fairway is not acceptable but going down in deep rough to feel the bounce and the grass/hosel interaction is what helps me figure out what I'm going to have to do to pull off the shot or more specifically tell me what shot I can hit unfortunately that can lead to some dirt in the grooves once in a while. Grazing the grass crown from the rough or fairway in a practice swing is preferable for my routine but if I'm off in the crap I am not shy about taking a practice swing that has a steep angle of attack, once I a while the forward shaft lean and attack angle exceed the bounce ability of the sole. Like a lot of the comments I've read on here most of the time I into to address grip a go but that's mostly from the fairway or shorter rough ...I'm totally with you on the etiquette and damaging the course or taking obscene divots , not cool at all
-
This is the TP head I was referring to LBlack14 the Grenade appears to be the wood version of this iron. Two technologies have nothing in common but look similar. It just looks like a muscle back sole pate if the world existed lol ...the concept of air pockets to reduce friction was done by Slazenger(completely dimpled crown as well) head way back in the early 80's...the Hogan Speed slot was intended to do the same thing back in the wood days...one of the Frankenstein I put together years ago was an Langert Foiler with a aerodynamic elliptical(oval) shaft. It was a great conversation piece lol
-
Taking a full divot and having to clean grooves after you make your practice swing breaks what ever routine your using most of the time however there are lies where it's more important to find the earth and take that divot be ready with a good towel clean a try to get back in the shot mentally more the physically . That's just me though
-
It depends on how long ago I took my Advil and range time right before teeing it up also pace of play once I'm out there. The worse the lie, the slower the play the more practice swings it takes to feel the bounce and path I'm looking for. Aim the face for my initial ball path, grip, glance and go.
-
These are the best irons I've ever used for shaping shots toe grind is fantastic for fanning the face a bit even on hard pan
-
My gamers on tight lie courses frequency matched flowed and swing weighted ...

Are Staff bags pretentious??
Hack2putt replied to Newc's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Taylor made a big r11 stand bag vinyl I believe and white haha not for long too heavy to carry and not much more room than a 9" staff...I've switched to the 11" mac daddy and years ago and always keep a good stand bag(waterproof) around ... Considering some of the pants I see out there I don't think a staff bag is pretentious it just has it niche -
The sole plate reminds me of the Taylor TP blades, they where great so this club might have some merit based on energy transfer and aerodynamic's ... Just hope it doesn't ring like the old nike sumo square head(the original one)
-
You seem to be doing a good job at adding to it by yourself...The undertones of your original comment didn't seem very gentlemanly(to me). Golf is supposed to be a gentleman's game, played by gentlemen. I guess your last comment seems like it's intended to escalate or incite me in some way? more power to ya big guy, you clearly feel in the right and that's OK with me...Have a Merry Christmas!!! ps If you'er ever in Reno and want to play for some cash shoot me a message on here and I'll take you to my club and pay for your round! cheers!

ps I played against Phil in college and he could shoot a 68 with a range ball, me too for that matter lol
-
No I'm not trying to be funny NIKE MADE A BLACK(as in the color black) 'ONE' ball for tiger...google before making smart racial insinuating comments...im not racist nor would Phil ever play a Chrome or Chrome+ for that matter
-
Nike used to make a black ball for tiger , no joke ) Nike 'ONE' black
