  1. I put in other becasue you should try them and see which one fitts you the best. I might like the Aldila shaft, but it is not for everyone. Heck, I am not even sure that I am 100% sold on the shaft that I have.
  2. I agree with most of the responces. Unless there is a reason why you are not carrying a 14th club, you should find something to add into the bag. You never know when you might need a little something extra.
  3. I think that short game can help you out of a lot of situations, but not to make you a 3 or 4 handicap. That would be ludacris. I have a fairly good short game, but not good enough to give me a 3 or 4 handicap and I actually strike the ball really well.
  4. You can tell when they are trying to sandbag. Normally it is a guy that shoots really low and has that better handicapp. It also depends on the course that they play everyday. They might play on a really hard course and have a 13 handicap and when they play on other courses that are easier, they might shoot something better. There could be a lot of situations to make this happen. Interesting to think about though.
  5. There are so many out there that you should just try them. I like the Titleist and Mizuno. I have not yet tried the Cleveland, but I am not opposed to it.
  6. Glad you figured it out. Does not look bad wither.
  7. It depends on the person. I like the Pro V1 better because I am not worried about loosing 5-10 yards. I like the feel that it has around the greens and this is where I need it the most. I might actually try the Pro V1x just to see how much let off it is around the greens.
  8. I just order a hard case. I will let everyone know what I think about it. I wanted a hard case because I have traveled with a soft case and did not like it very much. It is a mental thing, but I like to think with a hard case that I will be a little more protected.
  9. I have not read all of the other posts, but here is my opinon on fringe and pitch shots. First with the stance, with chipping the stance should be slightly open. This give the arms more room to swing. The second is to keep the ball back in you stance. This insures that you hit down on the ball and not scoop the ball of the ground. Scooping will give you a tendecy to hit the ball chuncky. Third, use about the same motion as a putting stroke. Keep the wrist from controlling the shot. The arms should be doing all the work. This is just my opinion and take it for what it is worth. I have about a 12 handicap, but that is not because of my chipping. I am actually a really good around the greens. The problem is that I play around the greens way too much and not hitting many greens. I am actually about a 10 normally. Before I took about a 5 year break to go to college and get a masters, I was a 4 and this was an area that saved my butt more than once.
  10. One of the keys to good putting is practice. You also need to have a putter that you feel confident with, but one of the keys is to practice. If you play one a month and only putt then, you might not be that good of a putter. Every time I go to the driving range, I spend time on the putting green as well. You have to be able to putt descent in order to get a good score.
  11. It will still be about Tiger's rehab. No one else is making a big sting while he is gone.
  12. Unless you know exactly what you want, it is worth going to a store and hitting them first. It is definitely worth the time.
  13. Mine has grown as well. When I played in High School, I was at about 90 to 95 with the driver. Now that I am back to playing, I have a 120-125 with the driver. It can grow with becoming better at the came. When you first start, you do not have as much technique, but when you get better then swing speed will probably go up as you get better at striking the ball.
  14. Get fitted for a custom shaft. Take suggestions from the people and try them. Do not buy a new shaft without buying them.
  15. The shaft is really important. It really does help. Getting fitted for one is the same as a driver. All the different stores have their opinion, but it will be what works for you. Usually now when you buy a new driver, you can get fitted then and not pay that much of a difference in price.
  16. I will agree with the majority here. I bought my SC not too long ago and have not been happier with it. I really do enjoy it. I think that since I have had it, my confidence has gone up in my putting and I have been putting much better than I used to.
  17. I appreciate everyone's help and I will take a look at it and see what I can do. I only play in a couple and I am not that concerned with it. If I really do need it, I can go back and backtrack and add the scores to get a really good feel.
  18. When I first started, I just chipped that ball at the hole. I never really looked at speed or break, but the better I got the closer I payed attention to it and realized that I needed to get a feel for the shot as well as get better at chipping in the hole. Now, I am much better than I have ever been at chipping and it has really helped keep the scores down.
  19. I have some that I play different shots with, but for the most part I use a SW.
  20. I choose the 6 iron because everyone hits the 7 and lower fairly well. The 6 iron give plenty of distance and it can also loose a lot of control if it is being hit really badly. If you can hit the 6 pretty god with a new set of clubs, then you should take a clase look at buying them.
  21. I can tell which area needs improvement because I do keep up with stats. I do not keep them in a spreadsheet, but I do the same things. I want a handicap index because that is all that I do not have and I play in tournaments that want it. Thanks for letting me know that the handicap index is out there. I am going to have to take a look and find it so that I can add that to my spreadsheet. If I can do that, then I will probably not need to use a software.
  22. I have seen a couple of different one's all over the place on this site. I was looking for one where I can keep track of my handicap and some statistics. Does anyone have any ideas of good ones or suggestions? I can make myself a spreadsheet to keep statistics, but that is pointless unless I can get a handicap index as well. I want to clarify since there is a post. I do not mind paying for it, but I would like a good one. I will also do a free one if it is descent. I am not going to pay for something that is half a$$.
  23. Don't worry, the refs like to screw everyone and especially us for some reason. I have seen a many of questionable call is DV. You will not believe the experience at Death Valley. It is definitely worth the trip if you can make it. I can guarantee that I will be there.
  24. You might be a Rammer Jammer. But it is not going to help you this time. I am glad that you think Bama is that good. Sorry, not gonna happen.
  25. I have a divot repair tool that is Clemson and i use the piece that is on it.
