  1. Here's what I posted on a similar thread... Link to post . The actual post has the links to the product and rebate. Just checked and Walmart online still has the $200 price. The Bushnell Scout 1000 "Outdoor" version (comparable to the golf version, Bushnell Tour V2) is $200 at Walmart.com. {Product Link} There's also a $50 mail-in rebate from Bushnell. Walmart sells the same model listed as applicable. {Rebate Link} I actually went with a GPS, but I've used a Bushnell and they're very handy for their purpose.
  2. When getting new clubs, do you typically transfer the same lie angle?
  3. Picked up the game again this year after a 10 year break, so I figured I'd update my equipment. Bought everything in below in the past few months: Driver: Nike SQ Sumo 5000 Woods: Nike SasQuatch 2 3W, 5W Hybrids: Nike SQ Sumo2 15*, 23* Irons: Taylormade 3-PW R7 TP Putter: Odyssey White Hot XG #9 Bag: Ogio Grom Most recently bought a box of the Bridgestone 330-RXs and a Clicgear 2.0 push cart.

  5. My local Golfsmith just got them in today. $42.99/doz. They also will typically break open a box and sell individual sleeves.
  6. I was thinking the same thing. Her sponsorship was probably a factor in the decision making. Regardless, this is certainly a good move. I'm sure the media will be following her progress.

    Grass Ranges

At my course they have a mat range and two grass areas; one being the current hitting side, while the other is the re-growing side. The hitting area can last close to a month, by moving the hitting area back every couple days, but also usage of the grass area is only available as part of their membership. Their membership allows for unlimited use of the course, all practice areas, and even the mat range. It's a nice setup, and definitely hitting off the grass does provide a closer-to-realistic hitting surface.
  8. Thanks, but I tried there, and this morning the site says it's shipping on 9/17. And if I want in-store pickup, it'd be available for pickup on 9/28, it has a "ship to store" status.
  9. Anyone found an online store, other than ebay, actually shipping the RX's?
  10. Just bought a Clicgear 2.0. I've read some great reviews and can't wait to try it out on the course. Easy to unfold and fold. Folds to a nice compact "cube"
  11. Thanks. Sounds like another fitting, for length, for the longer clubs.
  12. Just wondering, I was fitted when I bought my new irons, and they determined that my irons need to +2 degree UP change on the Lie Angle. Do my hybrids, woods, and driver need a lie angle change as well?
  13. I do keep score, but just starting out, I use it more as a baseline and progression of what areas I should be working on. I don't think it's something to worry about nor stress over. I try to keep some stats (fairways hit/missed, club used, # of chips and putts, and other notes) so that I can see progression or defiancies, as well as set a goal for a particular hole..."next time let's try to do..."
  14. I started the thread above, and for me, my iron play was terrible when going from the mat to grass. The mat really does give a false-sense of confidence. I thought all my work in fixing my swing with a pro was a waste of time. Fundamentally and technically that was not the case, but it took time to get use to hitting on the grass. I would recommend avoiding the mats if you can, and if you do use it, use a tee. For "on the grass' work, stick with the natural stuff. You'll get better feedback on the grass.
  15. Well I've been mainly hitting off the grass this past week, and it was only today that I think I "re-found" my swing near the end of my practice session this morning. Using clubs that was giving me the most grief, I was able to hit some solid shots. Don't get me wrong, I was still topping, pushing, and pulling some shots, and definately need to do more work, but I made contact. I started on the grass by hitting off a tee, making sure I could at least make contact. Even that started as a problem, but when I "got it", I progressively lowered the tee until the ball was solely on the gress. I constantly checked the various parts of my setup, ball alignment, swing, etc., making sure I was technically correct. I'll be more confident/comfortable when I can go out to the grass range tomorrow, or even this afternoon, and repeat with the same irons. Repetition, for me, is confidence building. I've stopped hitting off the mat. I think the mat has it's advantages, especially if that's all available and for tee shots, but I'd recommend working of the grass. I think I became too comfortable with the "ease" of hititng of the mat that it give me a false sense of confidence. It hid some flaws in my swing that was only apparent when on the grass, so I had to re-adjust.
  16. Glad you got the club. Just a thought, could the email confirmation or tracking number email have been filtered but your email client's spam feature? I have found this to be the reason I don't see some emails.
  17. I've been happy with my FJ Super Lites. Very comfortable, and I walk whenever I can.
  18. I've ordered a club from Golfsmith before, and the club was actually shipped from the manufacturer. But since your account status shows as 'shipped' I'd call them to get a tracking number and shipping method used. Did your order confirmation email show the shipping method used?
  19. Thanks all for the replies, comments, and suggestions. Didn't get to go out this morning, but I think working through the issues, both physical and mental, on the grass sounds like the best way.
  20. Well I've been working on changes on my swing with the club pro to help with some consistensy and the dreaded topping of the ball. Found that I raise my shoulders during the down swing and my takeaway was more hands than shoulder. I've mainly been hitting off the mat at the range and during our video sessions. I've felt that I've made some pretty good progress. I was hitting some pretty good shots off the mat. Decided to start practicing off the grass range, and I was topping like crazy. I spent this morning on the grass range, topping the ball off the grass and off the tee. It was TERRIBLE!! I did hit some decent shots, but not the same ratio as on the mat. I could tell I was lifting again. And my divots were either before the ball or there wasn't any. And if there was, it was tiny. So I went back this afternoon, and the same thing. So I went back to the mat range and I was making good contact again. Granted, I did top a few, but the majority was good contact. I don't get it. Anyone else have similar issues? It's very frustrating to "think" I've made progress and see the problem some back.
  21. - The guy who doesn't stop talking through the entire round - Most Reality TV shows - Single drivers in the carpool lane - Hybrid drivers who think the speed limit is now 50mph on the freeway cause they're in a hybrid - Tele-marketers - Rude customer service - Having to work 8 hours on a sunny day
  22. Top 10 - Probably Winning - Probably not He certainly has the potential, but he just flops in the end.
  23. Found this in the dress code section of a local private club: Cargo pants/shorts (pants/shorts with external pockets) are allowed only if they are of the stylish upscale type which is sold at first rate golf apparel shops and private golf club pro shops. Acceptable cargo pants/shorts are creased, made of finer fabrics, have very few external pockets, and the pockets that they do have are very flat on the surface of the pants. The type of cargo pants/shorts which are unacceptable are those which are heavy, bulky, sloppy, wrinkled, and have many balloon-like pockets. If in doubt, please do not wear the cargo pants/shorts. And I like this line... If a guest arrives dressed inappropriately, the member will be charged for whatever clothing is required to bring the guest's clothing into compliance with our dress code. Remember, it is the member's responsibility to notify his/her guests about all of the Club's rules (which are all on the Club's website) Source
