  1. hogan apex 1998 miura limited editions..may be up for sale maruman sole C11Xii have bought and sold dozens on ebay
  2. it was alright when Jesper did it because he was a clown but Calc needs to lose the sweatbands or switch to tennis whats next..eyeblack?
  3. no..7 and 9 woods are for chicks
  4. I like my Tp R5 Dual.. got new on ebay for $150..only issue is that it is a 8.5 degree which is a little low for me but it was cheap and drivers for me don't stay long..
  5. I have a r5 dual TP driver 8.5 ...just got on ebay for 170..rocket launcher and a great look
  6. spit and a towel
  7. Jack was great but Tiger is better. When he retires he is going to have so many majors it will be amazing. The guy has his best years ahead of him. Fun argument, one of the joys of golf is discussing all the great players
  8. I like blades and feel today's are forgiving enough. Funny thing for me is that I hit my long irons great but struggle with my scoring clubs at times. I actually feel like getting a combo set but the other way around with cavities on the scoring clubs and blades 2-6. Makes a little sense as your short irons you really don't need to bend much but the longer irons are clubs which you need to shape at times. all that being said, I'm a blade man and always will be. They lookm great at address and give me confidence. Plus when you are dialed in its a very fun day.
  9. I recently bought a new set of irons which were made in the early 90's when clubs were a little shorter. I think the 5 is only 37.5, maybe even 37.25. I'll probably add a 1/2 to it but I hate to put too much more swing weight on. Funny thing is I kind of like the shorter club, makes a 6 look like a 7 on set up. I'm 6'3 however and I have to watch my posture. When I look at photos of Faldo when he was winning he got a little bent over on his short irons. I also read about 5 years ago that Ernie Els played a 1/2 shorter iron and sometimes it looks like he is playing some pretty short clubs out there. Main worry is swingweight and losing a lot of distance and I hate to say it but having the ego involved of only hitting a 9 irob 125 yds. But I bet they go straighter. I haven't hit these yet, just horsing around in my basement. being tall, I've actually have before and am always think about adding lenth to my clubs to get me a little more upright, more than increasing the loft. I for one, don't like the look of an too upright club. Interested in anyones thoughts especially anybody tall but not playing longer clubs or even shorter ones. thanks
  10. i buy a lot of sets of irons and only buy them with a 2 iron included, great way to save a few bucks. I also like playing a 2 especially on long par 5s for a second shot and since I play the tips usually, I need it for a 220 plus par 3. I also think once you start thinking about a hybrid being an easier club to hit and then you hit a yank or a slice.. then your head is really messed up. IMO, You have to have the mind set that all your clubs are easy to hit and then execute your shot. A deuce is also nice on driving holes when you must hit it straight.
  11. please don't put covers on your irons..they are meant to get banged up like any good instrument or tool. Covering them will just depress you when they evenually get dinged unless you cover them after each shot on the course which we don't want to go there on that as you sound like a nice guy
  12. I'd never want to do this and waste my greens fee, however if I ever really had this I'd use my putter and play punch shots all day and stay out of any bunkers.
  13. I have bought many, many sets on ebay w/out a problem, however you should always get a photo of the face of the iron to see how much sweet spot wear. When I sell something I always have supersize photos available so there are no surprises.
  14. I like mine with the vst pro shaft. Not as long as some other 460's but pretty straight. I went to a 10.5 for control and still have a ping G5 knock off with a great shaft in 8.5 degree laying around if needed for more juice. Some say the set up is closed but I don't see it
