  1. I play an old Callaway Bertha S2H2. It will be quite a long time before that club comes out of my bag. It has the most predictable ball flights of any club in my bag and decent distance too. I also had it shortened ( i'm only 5'4" ) which likely helps the control and predictability.
  2. I think you nailed it when you said handle forward. I definitely don't do this now with my driver swing. I have the weight forward etc, but need to add an adjustment to the handle.
  3. With the ball on the heel of the front foot and utilizing a stack and tilt swing, won't this help create a fade/slice as there is a better chane of hitting the ball after the center of the swing radius around the body ( out to in ) ? What adjustments do people commonly make to keep a straight/draw shot?
  4. No experience here but I am curious my self. I am currently playing Bridgestone E6's and want to give the Crushes a try.
  5. Right now I am working it as pushing my left hip back and forward to straighten my hips out and begin sliding them along the target line or slightly open to it. I was working on mostly the feeling out of the left hip but changed it to my right foot and knee today. I think I've been turning on the ball of my right foot and liftin the heel prior to contact. In light of these I've begun working on feeling my right foot roll over to the inside of itslf. I have yet to use the swing with my driver as my drives have bee fantastic for me this year. With stack and tilt, does the ball get placed in thecenter of the stance with the driver or is it still more forward ?
  6. I tried the swing last year and put it aside until the past month or so. Since trying it out again I have had flashes of brilliance with it, and then have seen it all apart. I'm a little uncomfortable with beginning my down swing. My hips are turning to the point where I am turning on the whole swing and on the worst ones I am going way way left. Any thoughts or tips on starting the downswing? I've tried a few things and nothing feels right yet.
  7. As the title says, I am playing a set of 02 Berthas right now. I am currently working on a stack and tilt swing. I currently do not get a draw despite different minor changes. Swwing and technique aside, will I get a draw out of these clubs or are they going to keep doing what they were designed to do which is hit the ball straight?
  8. I'm stuck on Bridgestone E6's right now. They have worked great for me off the tee and I'm playing the most consistent golf I've ever played. My short game leaves a litte to be desired right now, but I also just switched up some of my mechanics there, so we'll see if it balances out in the end.
  9. I made this change this year and it has improved my consistency, particularly with the driver.
  10. I don't have a hybrid in my bag. I have a 3 iron and a 3 wood as my long cluns ( other than driver ) My perspective is skewed though because I'm hitting a Big Bertha 3 iron and Big Bertha S2H2 3 wood, so they work for me.
  11. I always line up my putts this way, and my putting is the best part of my game. Doesn't matter what the putt is, I mark my ball, pick it up, take a look, align it, put it down and take my putt ( sounds drawn out, but actually takes very little time ) For me I think it's more about actually taking that much time to look at each putt, the long and the short. I just know that once I've lined it up I am good to go. If I do miss, it's not by much. Now if I could just hit a ball....
  12. No wrist in my chipping, just flops, pitches etc. My driving again today was even better, but my irons went to crap. I kept hitting everything fat.
  13. The Stack and Tilt swing has changed my game and I only just started. Last round out I was beating my playing partner for 6 holes ( until I let a few mistakes derail me ) I was hitting farther and more accurately than ever, and I've just started working on it. The one spot that I am not sure of is their short game techniques. I have my own ( more wristy ) and it's the best part of my game right now, so that may stay the same while I work on the swing,
  14. Anyone have any good tips or drills for practicing club head ( particularly driver ) release?
  15. Anyone have any experience with their products and service? I'm looking at their wedges in particular.
  16. I grappled with this last year. I gave up on my driver and went with my 3 wood because although I only hit it 200 yards, it was accurate. This year I bought myself a new driver ( had a cheapie before ) and forced myself to use it. I just swung nice and easy to start ( if I only got 200 yards so what? I wasn't going to get anymore with my 3 wood) I started to work into the swing and now have a fairly good shot off the tee. My last round I was averaging 230-240 yard drives and mine were consistently straighter than the rest of my foursome. It took most of this year to get to that point, but it's worth it.
  17. I think of the number 1, as in the next shot being my first stroke. I just try as hard as I can in every way to imagine the next shot is my first. For me, if I allow myself to start adding them up, already thinking I'm stuck with a 6,7 or 8 at best, then I'm done.
  18. No windows here.....even if the temp was manageable the course will be under x number of feet of snow....... It sucks, but with an NHL season and two kids playing minor hockey it fills the time. Zack, I've heard we have one here too. Virtual golf along with a winter golf school that I might take a look at.
  19. and if you are in a place like me where the snow will fly, the courses will close and you're left with 5-6 months of no golf, what do you do over the winter to keep/work on your game? This is my first really serious year in golf and with the way I'm ending it I hate the thought of stopping for 5-6 months and losing the progress I've made. For those in similar climates, what drills and types of practice do you do to keep yourself in touch with the game? For me, I'll be looking to practice putting indoor, some chipping and just making sure I go through my current swing every day or to to keep in feel with it.
  20. My wife bought me iron covers for my birthday. I've used them, and still do. I keep them in my bag and they go on during transport, or if I golf a local course which has some rougher terrain. During regular play, I find it annoying to take off and keep replacing the cover. To each their own, for me they have some use during transport etc, but overall I find them a nuisance on the course.
  21. Using Wii fit seems almost like a ridiculous idea I'm sure to alot of people, but it does have it's benefits. I bought it for my wife and tried it out. After taking the balance tests I was amazed at how off center my balance was even when standing straight. I've used it to get a "feel" for what my good centered balance is like and it's drastically different than what I used to think it was. This was a little more exaggerated for me, because I have some pre exisiting medical conditions affecting my lower legs.
  22. Thanks! This is the one I had seen before but couldn't remember where it was.
  23. Playing at the experience and handicap I am currently at, each round is a new experience for me. I am getting improved yardages, learning new things etc etc. Not to be rude but why feel the need to highjack the thread to proclaim your opinion that this doesn't need to be done? The thread was directed to anyone who was using one, and some people do. If you don't feel it is of merit then don't do it and proceed with your game. Meanwhile I'll proceed to use many different avenues, tools and resources as I gain more experience, build a better swing and improve my game step by step.
  24. For someone still getting a handle on what clubs will cover what yardages, which club was used is actually a handy little stat.
  25. Thats basically all I'll be doing. I usually walk, so I don't often keep the scorecard with me, it goes with another pair on the cart.
