  1. Definitely agree...amazing public track.
  2. I have to disagree with you on Newcastle. It certainly has nice views and a great clubhouse...but that is it. The course has been in horrible shape for the last three years and for the money you are spending to play there, it is crap. I have played both The china creek and coal creek courses many times...not once has the course been in good shape. Save your cash, play Druids Glen, Washington National, Trophy Lake, Gold Mountain, White Horse...all amazing courses and cost less.
  3. I could not disagree more. I have played this course on a number of occasions and each time was worse than the last. The greens are always in horrible shape and if there has been any rain in the last few days...be prepared for your ball to plug all over the place (fairways, greens, rough). Many better tracks in the area for half the price IMO. If you want to spend the money, drop it on Chambers.
  4. I would encourage you to keep your money in your pocket and find a different course. Newcastle is a nice place, amazing views...but no way is it worth the 160 you will pay. I played the Coal Creek ($160 but got it free with my OKI card) course a couple of weeks ago and the greens are in awful shape and the fairways are crap. You are paying for the views and the upscale amenities. On top of that, the course is very difficult (shot makers course) but popular with all sorts of players creating an extremely slow pace of play (5 and half hour round after teeing off at 745am). Take my word for it...the views are not worth it! Keep in mind this is an opinion I have formed over time...I have played both Newcastle courses a number of times. If you are looking for a challenging course, the ones listed below will get you much more bang for your buck IMO: Washington National Golf Club washingtonnationalgolfclub.com Druids Glen www.druidsglengolf.com And finally, If you can spare some time to drive about an hour south, and you are looking to drop some cash and want a real challenge...check out Chambers Bay. Brand new course that will be hosting the US Open in 2015. www.chambersbaygolf.com I am always up for a round!
  5. Wow...I think what he was doing is way off the scale. Timing them on every hole when the course is a ghost town? Seriously? Given the situation as described in the OP's story, that guy sounds like a serious douche bag. The way I read it captain douche was even ahead them. What's the point in getting so butt-hurt over that? Though, I do agree that the course is not the best place for lessons with a beginner. However, nobody pushing you? No harm no foul.
  6. From Seattle, 2 years into my Golf addiction!! Anyone know how to create a signature?
  7. The longest iron in my bag is the 4, however I recently purchased a TaylorMade TP 21 degree rescue club that I have been using in its place because I just cannot hit my 4. That would make the 5 my longest true iron in the bag.
  8. My TaylorMade TP (Fujikura Stiff shaft) 21 degree rescue club...man I love that thing!
