  1. Yes I have. Last year I played a total of six rounds (9 holes each) and my estimated Dick's Handicap Tracker handicap was a 97 or something. It is currently a 27.8. I stopped slicing every shot, now just my drives, and hada a couple dozen pars and two birdies. I bought new clubs which improved my game. I made the high school golf team, and have had several lessons from the coach. I practice everyday at my house (have a 75 yard long yard) and just focus more on the game. I still want to drop my handicap to a low twenty, and I think I can make it.
  2. Try ebay, Pinemeadow, or Diamond Tour Golf. I know that diamond tour has one or two different models and there are a lot of cheap three ball clones on ebay. Just type in three ball putter.
  3. Where I live it doesn't start snowing until a couple days before the first day of winter. I can practice at the range and at my house, but the courses shut down. I can play again sometime in lte March, early April.
  4. I like the feel of a steel shaft better. I can personnally hit the ball farther and straighter. Even thought about finding a nice steel shaft for my driver. Any idea's?
  5. Tried it before. Made a lot more putts but just didn't feel good. Went back to choking it down real far.
  6. Currently carry a 2 iron but will soon be the owner of a Hogan Apex 4 1 iron. I voted both for that reason.
  7. The Sabertooth. I do love the insert in my White Steel #1, though.
  8. http://www.golfsmith.com/products/MG...Graphite_Shaft thats what helped me out. Haven't bought it yet but I tried it.
  9. My first and current set of irons are Dunlop PowerFlange blades. I have been using them for three years after inheriting them from my uncle after he past. I like the look and feel of them. I've bought a set of forgiving irons and couldn't hit them worth a crap. Stick with the blades.
  10. I have the same problem. I thought moving to a Callaway GBB or Taylormade Supersteel 250 would fix it but it didn't kame much difference. It definitely has to be your swing or loft. Do you hit the three wood the same as your driver?
  11. I'm in the market for a new set of forged irons this year. I don't have a big budget ($400 max) and was considering Diamond Tour clubs. My first set of irons are Dunlop Forged irons that are ten years old and a little worn. I can hit them well and when I try to hit cavity back irons I can't hit with them. I am deciding between two sets. The first set is this- http://www.diamondtour.com/henry-hat...bs-p-2056.html The other set is- http://www.diamondtour.com/henry-hat...ubs-p-697.html I was leaning more towards the first set nd planning on using the extra cash on a new driver. Any thoughts?
  12. Pinemeadow makes a 64 and 68. Comes with a standard grip and apollo shaft. Bought mine new at Dunham's for twenty bucks.
  13. My Goals: 1. Fix my slice (almost done) 2. Improve my play from the sand traps 3. Get my handicap lower (19-21 maybe?) 4. Get new irons and get them fitted 5. Lose 15 pounds 6. Make the golf team (done)
  14. I told him it was a super game enhancement ball.
  15. Has anybody ever used one of these. I did it to my cousin on Friday. It was the fifth hole par 4. He teed it up and the swing just chipped it. It luckily didn't break. He teed up again and swung and made good contact with it and a huge cloud of white powder surrounded him. He said " Did you see how hard I hit it!" I started laughing and told him what it was. Anybody else ever do this?
  16. Tryed out today and made it. Coasch kept score but I forgot to ask what it was. Helped me out with a lot of things, too.
  17. Yea, we ave a pretty crappy team this year. LAst year I was too young but the best two kids shot in the high 30's. I live in Chicora, PA but go to Karns City High School. Just a little small town.
  18. Got tryouts Sunday. Basically have to shoot under 60 in 9 holes to be on. My average for nine is about 48-53, so I'm not really worried. Got a tourney Moday and practice Wednesday.
  19. I just bought a Taylormade 260cc driver and a Callaway GBB 250cc driver. I always slice with anything bigger than 360cc, so I stick to the smaller drivers.
  20. I believe the loft is around 10 degrees. It could possibly be a little more or less, but not much. I'm going to take all three to the driving range and buy a few buckets of balls and see what happens. Thanks for the input.
  21. I've heard this before. Maybe I'll get it cut down a little and try it. I'm not worried about screwing it up because I got the driver for ten bucks at walmart. Thanks.
  22. You could also get a complete set from Golfsmith. Don't know if they have any ladies sets but you could get her a regular or seinor flex set and have them fitted.
  23. Whenever I would hit my off-brand 460cc driver with intermediate flex I would always produce a huge slice. I decided to get my old Dunlop PowerFlange 1 Wood out and hit it straight down the yard about 230 yards. Why os it that I can hit a smaller headed driver straighter and farther than a bigger headed driver. I just purchased a Callaway Great Big Bertha and a TaylorMade SuperSteel 250 Driver. The Callaway is a graphite stock extra stiff shaft and the Taylormade is an Aldila Stiff shaft. Is it the shaft causing me to hit a slice or something else? My grip and stance/swing stay the same for all drivers.
  24. Definetely the Wilsons. I have a few of their clubs and they are really nice. Don't generally care for Top Flite products, but that's just me.
  25. Buy it. That's a pretty good deal.
