  1. Well said.
  2. 48 wpm. With a few mistakes The commas screw me up
  3. just curious
  4. sorry nevermind you need a 17
  5. I use an old used odyessy putter with an insert that I love. Non metal putters just seem to have a harder feel that I dont like as much. I dont think performance matters either way even though pelz did say something about insert putters might work better. I think its just a preference thing, and those greens at the dicks/golfsmith/whatever store are the best ways of choosing a putter.
  6. It all depends on how much you think you will play. When my dad and I started a few yrs ago, he bought name brand clubs that were last years models and ended up dropping around 900 dollars. I think you will be hard pressed to get all new stuff as a full set for much cheaper. I got a 200 dollars dicks set that sucked. It turned out that my dad doesn't play much and the clubs were imo a little bit of a unneeded expense. I on the other hand loved the game and the 200 dollar set was fine while I was just learning. By upgrading later I have only lost a few hundred bucks than If i had gotten nice ones to start, but the original purchase wasnt waste. But I wouldn't want to drop a bunch of benjamins on a game I didnt know if I liked. Get a cheap set(or used) and If you like the game and have a decent swing, go get fitted for some nice ones. Just my .02
  7. Wow, that looks nice. I struggle with grip pressure but it is so hard to judge. Something like this that could quantify it might be great. Looks expensive though.
  8. It all depends on teh lie and the distance to the landing area. If I am just in the fringe, ill hit a 5 or 6 iron. If Im in deep greenside rough about 10 feet from the green Ill play a LW (or in my case a sw bc I am poor)
  9. I like to go on the practice green of every course i play and practice rolling balls across and trying to stop them on the fringe. It acclimates me to the green speeds and helps me get a good feel for distance while I practice or b4 I go out and play.
  10. Well, if you consistently hit it over 350 then why the hell aren't you on the long drive competitions. I definitely call BS on that and your 160 lb. friend that carries it over 330.
  11. Gt: MrMochila Probably will get the game in a few weeks, add me for Halo and Cod if you wish also
  12. I have about 150 bucks to drop and I am trying to decide btw either gap wedge to fill the 12 degree gap between my PW and SW set of lessons at golfsmith/golf galaxy (not sure about how good these are) cheap igolf gps What would you do?
  13. My mom has the adams 13 piece set and loves it. It is definately a great choice for a beginner, great value. As to the set size, id probably go with the bigger one if the extra bens isnt a big deal. Just because if she decides she really likes the game then she wont want to get more clubs. On the other hand if she doesnt need it/ like the game then youve only dropped an extra 200 instead of the possible 500 or more it would cost if she wants something else. The 8 piece set might leave some gaps between irons but that depends on her swing speed. My mom has like a half wedge swing and her 5 and 8 irons like go the same distance. The irons are great and she can keep them for years unless she wants a players set at some point.
  14. Does anyone think its bad to have a different 3 and 5 wood?
  15. Weakness: Sand Play, absolutely horrible Strong:Putting, but only relative to the rest of my game. Im not out there holing 40 footer but i probably 3 putt about 3 times per round.
