I don't have the "utility wood" but the ironwoods, which are smaller and a little more like a hybrid. I love these clubs, high launch off a tight fairway lie, very forgiving. I too struggle with woods and really love my clubs. Thinking about getting a utility wood to replace my 3 wood too. Where were you thinking of buying them from because I can't seem to find them online or at the local golfsmith store.

I Have one, it helped me with flattening my swing plane but not path. (I dont really have a slice problem)

My beginner set had only odds and I scored just about the same as I do with my new clubs [:(]

how do I know which tees have a men's handicap? will it be on the scorecard?

I am a beginner and have never broken 100. I am a pretty short hitter (7 iron ~140, 3 iron ~180) The course I usually play at has 4 sets of tees. Are both the front two tees supposed to be the ladies tees or just the shortest one? Which ones are the standard men's tees? I want to play from the correct spot for my skill level but dont want a score to not be legit because the holes were so short.

Well, a thick topline has been on every iron I have ever hit, so It doesn't look odd to me at all. The player's irons look wierd. but whatev.

I think if I actually tried to calculate it online, my PC would break bc it was so bad. So i probably am worse that the people in front of you yesterday.

One thing people always mention when they discuss player's irons is the "smooth feel". WHile I can understand the value of a gain in workability, why does a smooth feel do anything. Isn't what matters where the ball goes? Also people ***** about the thick topline of a GI iron. Why does this bother people?

Yeah but there is a bigger difference between a 100 dollar and 300 dollar drivers than there is btw a 100 and 300 dollar putter. For ~100 you could git something with the exact same shape (i.e. a ping anser) just a different name. For a 100 dollar driver you'd end up with a pos noname like ram instead of whatever $300 OEM you want.

It seems hard to justify 300 dollars for a putter, especially one that has no insert or anything special. Its just a piece of metal and if it helps you putt better then great, but its probably just a placebo effect

Full price for an 8 year old is rediculous. Things like these happen all the time (i.e. a course telling me I had to play with an adult because I was under 18) They discourage young people from picking up the game and hurt the growth of the sport.

I know I should keep basic stats but usually get distracted, rushed, etc. and end up quitting. If suck so I play slow when me and 3 other hackers are playing together so I usually quit to save time.

Yes, regrooving yourself with a tool is legal so long as it is not one that will sharpen them to illegal dimensions. The tool should say if it keeps your clubs legal.

where did you find the 4DX driver for so cheap? I got the 3DX for $99 but everywhere ive seen the 4DX has been like 299. You say the driver will probably be replaced unless you are blown away, but I was very impressed with the one I got, especially for the price. Very long and straight and It has a great shaft on it too (proforce V2)
