  1. Just a heads up, there's a guy on eBay selling Sabertooth's for $134. He's got 98.4% feedback and I just found him. Really, really considering a Sabertooth for that price. I'm between the Sabertooth and the White Hot Tour #1, damn tough choice to make. Putted around with both of them at the store the other day and love 'em both. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-2008-Odyssey...3911.m14.l1318
  2. So we're going to ban people with long hair and beards? That makes a ton of sense. I voted good for the game, but to an extent. I wear cargo shorts (nice ones) and a cheap polo to the course usually. I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all. I'm all for not allowing jeans, jean shorts, wife-beaters, etc. However, some places take it too far.
  3. Anyone that makes $100,000 in a season isn't going to have any problems with their quality of living. It's not going to be the life of luxury that guys like Tiger and Phil lead, but it's in the high income level and that's not even factoring in their significant other working and making however much it is they make and any endorsements they have.
  4. My game basically can be summed up as poor driver, decent iron play, poor putting.
  5. Well, I was looking at the Odyssey White Hot #1 putter and that's running for about $119 at most places. I wouldn't like to go any higher than that right now.
  6. I have the same issue, even when I go with my friend who I always play with. I tell him that I've been on the range and feel like I've fixed things and got better and when I tee it up on the first hole he probably thinks I'm on crack or something because I either top it or slice it or something else. Then after a few holes, I finally get into a groove, especially with the irons. Not sure why that is, I think I might need to hit the range before hitting the course, but money doesn't allow for that always.
  7. Putting is definitely probably the weakest aspect of my game and something I feel that needs to be improved the most, now that I think I finally have my driver figured out. I usually end up with a lot of three putts. Hard to say if that's because my putting is bad or because I'm not setting myself up with a good wedge shot, but if I had to say, I'd probably say it was because my putting. I feel like my 9iron and wedge shots are usually pretty good.
  8. So, the other day I thought I had my mind made up and was set on buying a new putter. Then, I remembered and realized I don't have any wedges in my bag other than the pitching wedge. I have a set of crappy Walmart clubs named Foremost and all that's in my bag is driver, 3-PW, 3 wood, 5 wood and putter. I hate my putter, it's too short and too light, but I also don't have anything good to use around the green, so I always either get stuck using my pitching wedge or snagging my friends 56 wedge if I'm playing with him (I know, some of you probably don't like that idea). I figured I'd just ask here to get some opinions. What should I go with first, a new putter or one wedge (I can only afford one right now)?
  9. That's awesome. The contest ended last night and I don't see a winner announced yet anywhere on their website, so maybe they're still drawing or something. I haven't got anything in my email saying I won yet though, so that's not a good sign. LOL
  10. While it would have certainly been a rough four weeks for him with traveling and such, it would have been nice to see him play. He's playing good golf right now, so I would have thought he'd want to give it a go, but I guess not.
  11. I was in the same boat but I think I finally figured it out...at least at the range. I was having huge slice problems with the driver and have had them for ever since I've been golfing. I was standing in front of the bathroom mirror one day and randomly took my stance. Anyhow, I noticed that while I thought my shoulders were lined up to my target the whole time and it felt like they were, my front shoulder was actually really open. So now, I just make a point of closing my front shoulder a bit when I use driver and I'm able to hit it pretty straight most of the time. And I also dropped my right foot back just a touch. And by back I mean down, like towards your body, not back away from the ball. Driver's the only club I had an issue with my shoulder being open too, so even if you think it's not a problem, it could be.
  12. Wow, I just looked that place up and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I vacationed in Colorado two summers ago and it is probably at the top of my list as my favorite/most beautifu places I've visited in the country. Denver and the Rockies are great and Colorado Springs is such a contrast to that. I love it. Hope to move out there someday.
  13. I might be wrong, but I thought everything on the island itself was private and you couldn't get on there. I was there a long time ago when I was younger and hadn't got into golf yet, but my older brother, dad and uncle had to go into the mainland to play because they couldn't find anything on the island.
  14. That's true and it's really not so much of the person being a stranger, it's basically nervousness that I'll get paired with someone who is really good and they'll get stuck playing with me.
  15. I shouldn't have told you guys, now you'll probably win. LOL
  16. Yeah, I never win shit either. I always tell myself I actually have a chance, but then the time comes for the drawing and I never win.
  17. You'll probably win with your one entry and I'll end up not winning with my double digit entries. lol
  18. It's been going on, on their website since July 2nd and ends tonight at midnight. You were able to enter your email once a day. Has anyone else been doing it? I've been remembering to to it everyday now for a few weeks. I never get lucky with these sorts of things and it says under official rules for the contest that the estimated odds are 1:15,000 which at least isn't too outrageous. Hopefully I get an email tomorrow saying I won.
  19. Hmmm, really tempting to buy, but I need to get fitted. I know I need +0.5 at least.
  20. Hmm, really? I'm on their site and looking under MacGregor Irons and I don't see them. All I see is the Mactec NVG 2 Irons for 199.99 Edit: Nevermind, found them under closeouts.
  21. Brand new iron set for $199? Damn, I envy you! Let alone a nice set of MacGregor's (which I have been looking into).
  22. The Shark had another nice finish at The Senior Open. He didn't play that well the first round and I believe after two he was something like +5, but he turned it around on the weekend and ended up posting -2 for the tournament and finishing T5th. I think we were supposed to hear from him today whether or not he wanted to play in the PGA.
  23. I too have been having similar issues lately. I only have one friend that likes to golf regularly. He's good and it's a blast hitting the course with him, but he works A LOT so we only get out every couple of weeks, sometimes every week, sometimes twice a week. It depends on our schedules. I'm sort of hesistant about going to the course by myself. Not because I'd be playing the course alone, but I'm nervous they'd pair me up with another single. I'm sure if I went around noon or something during the work week it wouldn't be an issue, but I just don't want to end up playing with some stranger.
  24. Better believe Rocco will be around. Too bad I won't be able to watch the final two rounds.
  25. What's the problem? It's not like they're at each others throats and swearing left and right that I've seen. It's a heated debate. I don't see a problem with that.
