  1. Would you recommend Grand Cypress New Course over Championsgate International? I don't see any Waldorf times that will work for my schedule.
  2. I just noticed that Magnolia is for Greater Orlando residents. Scratch that course.
  3. I have one day to play while here on business. Out of the 3 courses (all on Golfnow for great deals), would you recommend Magnolia, Championsgate, or Grande Cypress New Course?
  4. Wow, didn't mean to strike a nerve. It is "Man Crush Monday" though, isn't it?
  5. Shot an 82 today, with 2 double bogeys on the last 2 holes. 2 birdies, 6 pars, 7 bogeys, and 3 double bogeys. I hit 12 of 13 fairways but only 12 of 18 GIR. I need to work on my game from inside 100 and my putting. I had 37 total putts, with 4 - 3 putts.
  6. What biases would those be? I was probably out on the golf course, in the woods, or on the water. I don't prefer to sit around watching tv all weekend, like some.
  7. I think it would help if you explain what you mean by "around the green". Are you talking about chipping on the green or pitching from 30 yards and out. On your chips, are you hitting them fat, skulking them over the green, etc? There's a lot of unknown variables in your post above.
  8. I don't understand all of the hate towards Bubba for complaining about bad golf shots. I've complained on the golf course when I've hit a bad shot and it's just a way to relieve stress. These guys are out there trying to earn a paycheck and finishing in 2nd or 3rd can be a big difference in the payout. No one says anything when Tiger is dropping F bombs left and right.
  9. I believe I would have told him that I couldn't promise anything and to be sure to keep an eye out while he was out there mowing/picking up balls. If he got rude after that comment then I would have told him I'd be taking my business elsewhere. As stated several times before, he should close the range down, at a time that doesn't inconvenience others (which isn't at noon), in order to maintain the range. I wouldn't let it stop me from going though. If it's convenient to use, keep using it and don't let his actions bother you.
  10. Nice. My sister just graduated from State this May.
  11. I am. I take it you know Brad Frick then, since you are a member at Hidden Valley. I work with a guy that's really good friends with Brad and I've played at Hidden Valley a few times.
  12. This man gets it.
  13. The course is pretty tight. If I had to guess, I would say the houses are 100 yards from the fairway on some holes and farther on others. When I joined in July, they were running a special where the initiation fee was $495 and the monthly dues are $109. The membership includes access to the pool, tennis courts, and clubhouse. It's playing pretty tough right now with long roughs and hard greens. Yesterday I hit a 7 iron, from 180 yards, that hit pin high, bounced 4 feet in the air, and rolled off of the green. If you haven't played it, I would definitely recommend it. They have a Men's Golf Association tournament this Saturday that I'm going to play in.
  14. I am a Pirate. I grew up in Wilson, NC and graduated from ECU in 2008, with a degree in Construction Management. I moved to SC in January 2009, for work, and I've been here ever since.
  15. Shot a 40 today at Golden HIlls, with 3 bogies, a double bogey, and a birdie. The lone birdie was with a 4 iron, on a 238 yard par 4 (temporary green), that I drove to within 20 feet and had a tap in for birdie.
  16. I'm 28 years old and I've been playing golf for about 14 years now. I just recently joined a country club (Golden Hills) in Lexington, SC and I'm going to join their MGA (Men's Golf Association). My current handicap is around 5, but my weaknesses that I'm currently working on are chipping and putting. I look forward to meeting some other golfers in SC and hopefully some that play at Golden HIlls.
  17. I was B-fit for Tour B330 golf balls. 1. Rory McIlroy -13 2. Adam Scott -13 3. Sergio Garcia -13
  18. I got my degree in Construction Management, from East Carolina, in 2008 and I'm currently working as an Environmental Engineer for a heavy highway/civil contractor in South Carolina.
