My most recent evolvr analysis is to tilt my head in line with my spine at address and to work on reducing my cupped left wrist during the backswing.............I will probably try the motorbike drill to facilitate the move. I will hopefully get to the range over the next few days if the bloody wind dies down and post some practice videos. I wish there was an indoor range to use during inclement weather.....

Congratulations!

I could not agree more but work and the family may have to take precedence. I might have to bribe the wife with a weekend to London ...........obviously incorporating a golf lesson as well! -

He did say that he's going out of the country at the end of April. Might not have time to get to see him before then! Are there any other evolvr guys working in the UK? -
That does make sense.......cheers!
-
Why not? I'm pretty sure it can lead to an OTT move which is really hard to change.
-
From personal experience! 1. Any type of sway and/or head lifting during the backswing. 2. Open clubface at top of the backswing due to cupped left wrist or rolling during takeaway.

You sent $29.00 USD to paypal@thesandtrap.com Thanks guys!

I'm thinking of trying a lesson in a few months to complement my online evolvr work. When do you guys think would be a good time to go bearing in mind that I've not completed any of the 5 keys yet? Thanks -
Thanks @iacas my swing is slowly starting to resemble something more Golf like!
-
Here are the latest videos I sent through to Stephan at evolvr. As you can see, the picture has not really changed due to me not getting to the range as much during the last 2 weeks. I expect my priority area to be that I need to rotate my left wrist clockwise more in the backswing. My wrist is really cupped on the video, hence the open clubface, which can't be helping my OTT move. The horrible sounding cough on the audio is not me........but an old chap hacking away behind me...........put me right off!

Thanks, I will give the notes a try next time. Hopefully the app developers might add a notes section on the score input page in the future?!
-
@Grinde6 which app do you use for notes? I use Golfshot for my stats but the notes page is a long winded process to sort during a round.
-
Thanks @Golfingdad , I tend to agree with your method. At least that way the putts per hole are always consistent. Currently my method means one day I might putt from the fringe and another day I might chip, so there is no continuity with the stats. If only my chipping was better!
-
I've had a read through of this thread and it appears there are varying opinions on counting putts. Therefore could someone advise the best course of action for me please? I'm a beginner with a high handicap. I currently only count GIR when the ball stops on the green and I count all putts even from the fringe or fairway if the putt looks a better option than a chip. This can often result in 3 putts to hole out and subsequently a high putts per hole ratio. Should I continue with this way or class the first putt from off the green as just another shot? Either way, I want to monitor my putting performance for progress. Thanks

Well, my second round was not as good in terms of scoring.............carded 100, but there were some real positives for me overall. The first 4 and last 5 holes totalled 37 so I know that there is an average golfer in there if I keep working on my swing and eventually start work with my woods and hybrids. I had a really tough time from the par 5's onwards, and it's my lack of distance which is holding me back. Also, I was 5 down with 5 to play and managed to beat my friend which was a bonus! Anyway, back to the range and hopefully a round at the end of the week. Par 4 3 4 4 5 5 4 4 4 37 4 4 4 4 3 4 3 4 3 33 70 Score 5 3 5 5 10 8 5 9 7 57 6 5 7 6 4 4 3 5 3 43 100 Putts 3 2 2 3 2 1 1 3 2 19 3 2 2 1 3 1 1 3 2 18 2.1/37

Thanks @mvmac , yourself and others are proof that you get more from giving!

Thanks @iacas & @rrives . My steady improvement would not have been possible without this site and the top people on it!

Here are the stats for my 96.......it is a short course though, so I'm not getting carried away! WHITE 264 116 371 274 492 541 382 296 323 3059 295 314 347 454 130 345 136 275 109 2405 5464 Handicap 11 17 3 15 7 1 5 9 13 10 8 4 2 18 6 14 12 16 Par 4 3 4 4 5 5 4 4 4 37 4 4 4 4 3 4 3 4 3 33 70 Score 5 3 5 5 8 6 6 6 6 50 7 7 5 6 4 6 4 4 3 46 96 Putts 3 2 2 2 1 2 2 2 3 19 2 2 1 2 3 3 3 1 2 19 2.1/38 I found it quite difficult to get the speed of the greens so that is an area I also need to devote some practice time on. Overall I feel that I've got a good base to work from now. I will be back on the course on Sunday to try and maintain the progress, then it's back to the range for more of the same "change da picture" and evolvr work. Cheers folks
-
Thanks, I certainly hope the year gets better from here........I'm going again on Sunday to make sure it wasn't a total fluke! I had the Golf bug and now I'm hooked, still loads of work to do on my swing and game but at least it's a start. Cheers

Played my first round in years due to a really poor golf swing. After 3 months of range and evolvr work I shot a 96! I used irons for the whole round, did not lose a ball and had 1 dropped shot due to a water hazard. 3 putted a few but overall the difference was keeping the woods in the bag and maintaining a centered pivot with a controlled backswing. Good luck to everyone else and if I can break 100.....anyone can.....I'm a chronic over the topper!
-
Thanks @Lihu really appreciate all the support and help you guys give and it made the difference for me today! I've got something to build on now.
-
Ninety bloody six!!!!!!!!!! What a morning.....I'm knackered but well chuffed. Did not lose a ball and have never enjoyed a round so much. I will post the score details later. Thanks everyone!

Thanks @iacas and @Lihu for your vote of confidence. I will probably suffer a cardiac arrest though if I'm anywhere near 100 coming up the 18th!
