  1. Im not sure exactly how much distance you will lose but, you will/should be hitting more consitantly with it.
  2. As long as distnaces are similar, which I think they should be, use the easier one to hit. Which seems to be the 2H in this case.
  3. Right now I am only carrying 2 wedges, however I am looking at getting one more. I dont mind having larger gaps between my wedges. Not that I'm very good with my chipping, but I prefer doing 1/2 shots, more consistant. I would have to say that the best combination for wedges is 46, 52, 58, IMO.
  4. Good answer. I quite enjoyed it.
  5. I'm not the most informed on balls, but certain ones are menat for higher or lower ss? The E5+ and Ladie X feel decent. Soft with fairly high spin.
  6. I was wondering because I would need to get golfsmith to order them into the store, but since it is a 2 hour drive each way, Im not sure if its worth it right now. Most people say they are very easy to hit, And they look very nice, and from what everyone says they feel like butter, so... I'm perplexed atm.
  7. Of the people that have hit these and GI irons, how forgiving are they in comparison, as well as feel? I would like to try it out myself, unfortunately, due to a lack of left handed mizzy's in-store I havent yet.
  8. Oops, my bad, hadn't fully thought about it I guess. And While I dont have short arms, my legs are very long, and my wrist is 37 and 1/4" from the ground, so I am in a similar boat to you. Eventually I guess you get used to it. Im sure if Furyk can get used to swing as horrid as his, we can adjust our bend a little.
  9. Shaft length will make a difference. Look at a 4 wood, its longer than a 5 and easier to hit than a 3 wood. The 4 could replace the 3 wood and the addition of hybrids would make for a nice, long, accuarte set, give it a try.
  10. Hybrids will naturally be pretty long, I would put steel in them, Since your using the 6.0 you might find steel is the right flex for your swing.
  11. Couldn't you get your clubs cut down to the size you need?
  12. The TM tour burner is nice, and pretty long. $250 shouldnt break the back, I think it's a great choice.
  13. Watch Sergio Garcia, he gets great wrist action, if there was a side view, you would see his wrist cock make a 45* angle.
  14. Taylormade TP. Callaway X-forged are nice, mizzy's are like butter, take your pick.
  15. Taylormade TP irons are a very nice players iron. The x-22 tour's feel better than the x-20 IMO.
  16. Go to golfsmith.com . They have an online fitting resource there try that and see what it tells you. The best is to physically try different shafts. If your driver speed is over 100 look at stiff if not you might want to stick with regular, or firm.
  17. The R7's are not the TP. I actually really like them, first choice right now, and their low price is another plus. Are there any mizzy's which are similar to the R7's? Next I will be deciding on a shaft, Im looking for steel with a mid trajectory. and im not sure if I will be going with stiff or x-stiff.
  18. Well I tried many irons yesterday. I have narrowed it down to R7, TM TP, Callaway x22/tour, Callaway x forged. All of those felt like good choices, and the x22 surprised me, even though its a GI, it doesnt have the bulk. About the shaft, I went on the Golfsmith website and did the fitting there. According to the website I need X-stiff shafts, the 6.5 for the Project X. They say the X-stiff are for people that use an 8-9I from 150 yards out, which I normally use a 9I. Anyone out there with similar distances, are you using x-stiff or stiff?
  19. How exactly do you perform a high flop? Everytime I attempt this (which isn't often anymore) I come in super fat. There have been times when my whole club head gets absorbed by a wet ground.
  20. Again a website differs from what people say. I'm not sure which is true. Also what is the difference between the Poject X flighted and the Project X? FLEX: Extra Stiff/Strong, Stiff/Firm MODEL: Project X PLAYER 1: All, Men PURE: No SHAFT TRAJECTORY: Low SHAFT WEIGHT: 110 to 120 Grams, 121 Grams and Over SWING SPEED: 70 to 89 MPH, 90 to 109 MPH TIP DIAMETER: .370 Inches TORQUE: 3.5 °s and Under SHAFT TYPE: Steel Shaft taken from golf smith.
  21. To squeeze 200 yards are you delofting the club? If so, then that isn't what I thought. I've seen pros deloft 9I and cary 180-190. I still stand by what I said earlier, try out all three and which is right for you. On a side note what flex do you use on your driver?
  22. Holy S**T. 200 yards with a 6I? I thought I had a beastly swing with my irons and I have trouble hitting 200yards with a 5I. Honestly you need to try the 6.0 the 6.5 and the 7.0. See which will fit you best, from what I see/hear I dont think the 6.0 will be stiff enough.
  23. Since the shafts alone are about $250 after taxes and labour, probably just over $300
  24. I am looking on the Mcgregor site and it seems that they do not make left handed, except for the OS lineup, is this correct?
  25. It is partially psychological, and partially preference. I am not a fan of huge offsets, and a large clubs seems - well, too large. My set right now completely lacks feedback, which is what I am looking for, as well as what I previously stated. And to tie it back to the tour comment, I find those provide the most feedback. I am definitly interested in hearing which other clubs have great feedback, though. Also not breaking the bank helps, trying to keep these irons under $900-1000. My ball striking is decent, nothing spectaular obviously. Most of the mis-hits are from getting angry, rushing the shot, or from lacking concentration.
