1. I think chip jelly was smoked out! Although I truly believed Bradford had potential to be an elite QB so who knows!
2. He is a moron if he doesn't play... How many pathetic rounds have you followed up with a great one? I understand the caliber of golf is different but come on man!
3. I agree because a lot of golfers over flex the right arm(more than 90 degrees) and because they do so, they turn less. So this will actually help with less flexion of the right arm plus a better turn to help the club travel further with the pivot. If your right arm only flexes to 90degrees at the top and you get a full pivot on the backswing then disregard this thought.
4. My goal in 2015 is to beat my lowest round ever of 71(-1). My plan to do so is to play as much as I practice this year. It will a tough feat considering that I work when the sun is up, but that is my goal!
5. I play for the competitive nature of golf because it's a one man sport and no one to blame but yourself if you lose. You can learn a lot about yourself when you have no one to point the finger at. Plus I wasn't privileged enough as a child to play the sport!
6. I agree but find your miss and adjust and then maybe scores will improve!
7. I'd like to see any American win, but if I had to pick it would be tiger(if he plays) bubba or Phil!
8. I concur with the possibility of people rooting against him and maybe color helped bring more viewers. It has a lot to do with pure skill. He has the second most wins in golf EVER(which I believe he will pass Snead) I never cared for tiger until more recently so I'm not bias. In fact, I rooted against him & rooted for Phil because he was his only true competition!
9. I agree but I believe that golf needs a great American golfer to surface!
10. I don't believe a specific swing thought is right or wrong! Whatever works for YOU and helps YOU play consistant solid rounds. But I will say SIMPLER is probably better.
I try to stay away from telling a part of my body to do something. I remember Jack Nicklaus saying never to do that. Easier said then done, though. It's amazing how hard it is to just clear your mind and focus your eyes on the task at hand. As they say, "trust your hands, not your eyes".
Golf is a eye and hand coordination sport, so the "trust your hands, not your eyes" notion can be chucked out of the window. With that said, understanding the golfer's illusions are sort of key to help with eye and hand skills. Plus last time I checked if you are thinking about hands that is a part of the body. You have to have a swing thought. Listen to players on tour after a solid round, it seems common for them to have had a very simple swing thought (ex. Tempo, balance etc.) whatever you do don't have a downswing blackout!
11. What do you think? Jordan Spieth said during his post round interview that gir's are what is keeping him near the top of the leaderboard. I agree, read LSW and you may too!
12. Now I could raise that with a little bit of dignity, that other thing on the other hand... I would avoid like the plague!
If the East team wins, it's gonna have to be Coke Zero ;-)
Iacas has an endless supply of coke zero & he makes good use of it.
13. You naturally have got to be a competitor at heart to be on tour!
14.
Or maybe the quality of competition has gotten so high that it's nust harder to win on the PGA Tour now. Seriously, he sounds a bit like a homer making homer comments. If we're going to speculate on whether a player has enough "drive to win" based on their record, I would have lumped Jason Day into that mix. I guess he was happy enough with his two major wins that he didn't want to win any more ;-)
Content with top 20 cash... Plausible(shrug)? Desire to finish in the top 20 without winning tournaments... Highly doubtful!
15. Here are some ideas for a new one!
16. I am hopeful to chip in to the east team to take home the cup, that is if there will be a cup.
17. Right arm takeaway thoughts may or may not be the correct though/feeling for you... You need to find the correct thought/feeling that really puts the club/body relation in the correct position.
18. Thanks Shorty. I guess I didn't fully explain but I've had about 25 lessons so far and have addressed all of those points and more. I am struggling with square contact with my full swing when using longer irons, 6 iron and below I usually manage to get square. At the range and on the simulator I can draw pretty much all my irons while hitting out but once I hit the course I pretty much am hitting straight or mishit a fade or sometimes even a slice. My biggest problems seem to be hitting thin or on occasion fat. Except for the last round my hybrids and 3 wood sit untouched as they usually result in topped balls. The course I play most is an Arnold Palmer design (6085 119 68.8 - 130 73.2 from the tips) with lots of water. This usually means I end up with at least a couple of penalties which I know aren't helping. Last round I hit 64% FIR, 6% GIR, 12% Recovery. One 4 putt and one 3 putt for a total of 33. I'm definitely having problems from second shot to the green.....
If the grips are too big it can effect the release and cause an open face at impact. So it could be the grips but I wouldn't just go fishing for an answer get a definitive answer from a pro or someone else with knowledge about the swing or grips.
