tiger is my all time favorite player. grew up watching him, really love his swing, and he has influence alot of the way i play the game. right now though i prefer phils loose disposition and really really like the way hes playing. overall i think tiger has the better mechanics, swing, winning ability, and mental game, but phil is playing way better right now and he has a much better attitude in my opinion

West TN or Middle TN club fitting???
AK jr. replied to TN94z's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
tim sygerich at gaylord springs golf links just outside of nashville is a great fitter. he helped me with shafts for my drivers and woods. i would definately recommend him to you as a really good guy to work with and somebody very knowledgable about every clubmaker in the business -
getting a 909h with either a vs proto or an nv. i have the nv in my other hybrid and love it, but i have never tried the vs proto so i just want opinions. thanks

what's your favorite(modern)blade
AK jr. replied to GOLFSALOT00's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
mp-32s. they are soft as butter, just forgiving enough, and not insanely small. basically blade feel and i10 like forgiveness -
Going price for SC Pro Platinum 2?

i got mine on ebay, pretty much no wear, for $150 -
im planning on getting an 18* tour burner hybrid. i demo'd one on the range the other day and was hitting it like 225-230 with a mid trajectory
-
im not sure if this specific hybrid comes in 22*, but the taylormade tour burner hybrids are incredible. i personally play a 585h, but i have found that i want a different loft and look at adress and i like the feel of the tour burner more. it plays almost more like a fairway wood than a hybrid due to its shape, but i found that you can still get just as good of contact with the ball if it is in the rough as with any other hybrid.

Drive short shaft experiment has merit.
AK jr. replied to Sherlockian's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i havent had the same experience and i havent tried that yet, but i did read the article. i would think it would benefit the longer hitters too, cuz obviously anthony does it. i might check this out soon -
i got a chance to hit the voodoo the other day. first off, it is way overpriced. secondly, i liked my vs proto better. as far as im concerned, its all hype on the voodoo. but the nv is also a good shaft. king cobra II, if i was you i would look at the v2 and also the nv and vs proto. all 3 are great shafts that wont break the bank too much
-
proforce v2 is the best shaft under $100 bucks in my opinion. if you like a higher launch and more torque, go with the v2 highlaunch. both retail around $80 or so. straight up the best shaft for the price. btw, DL3 just won at Disney and he plays v2's in his driver and woods. just saying that they aren't expensive but they are amazing
-
to be honest, pretty much nothing. obviously the 907's succeeded the 905's. honestly though, i got 10 more yards out of my 905r when comparing it the the d2 with the same degree and shaft.
-
ya its all just preference as far as i know. over the course of the past year or so i have really worked on improving my putting and i tried a ton of difference putters and shaft styles. i was putting with an offset odyssey at the time. i got a heelshafted yes! tracy II and love the way it setup, unfortunately my dad kind of took it from me when i got a scotty, and i dont think he will give it back. the next putter i got was a heel shafted studio design 2.5. i love the way it sets up also, but the rounded back of the putter kind of throws me off sometimes. my reason for saying all that is because it is all your preference, which ever style allows you to put better is what you need

hitting a bunker shot within a foot or so. i like to play my sand shots just over the lip of the trap and let them roll out, but its also gratifying when you throw it way up into the air and have it stop on a dime

which way does your divot point?
AK jr. replied to hrossroth's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips

What are some meduim launch shafts?
AK jr. replied to Arathel-bwcc's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
red board is high ball flight as far as i know. i did the same thing you did by getting a g10 with that degree and the stock shaft. i have a different driver now, but i have used the v2 before and it is a great shaft. that will probably be your best option for the money. now if you want a great shaft that i currently play, get the graphite design ysQ. it is mid ballflight and soooo consistent. either of these shafts will be great for you. -
ya i look at it that way. but i also notice that i got a like new 907d2 with a $250 dollar shaft in it for $200 dollars total and the first shot takes a scratch. secondly ya i will enjoy golf with my golf clubs, but i dont go around scratching them up or getting them dirty. i take care i my stuff

I was hitting my driver today in my back yard and the first shot i hit, i saw sparks fly at impact. i then examined the bottom of my driver to see what the damage was. turns out that i hit a rock, wow unlucky day. but, its not a very deep scratch. its in the shape of a square no more than an inch wide. the actual scratch is on the metal part of the bottom of the driver, and its not on any logos or engraving. i was just wondering if there is a special paint/filler that i could use to touch it up, or possibly send it in to titleist and have them fix it for me. any ideas are welcome
-
i play a titleist because i couldnt shape my shots as much as i liked to with the callaway shaft in their x hybrids, and it was between those too for me. in my opinion, callaway has incoporated a hotter or more "explosive" face onto their hybrids, woods, and drivers over the past few years. i also thought it was really easy to hit the ball with the x hybrid. if you like it, then go for it because i think its a great hybrid also
-
I am all for titleist. Drivers: Greet feel, workability, and looks Woods: powerful and consistent, easy to hit out of rough irons: great quality, i think mizunos are softer personally, but titleist blades are a traditionally great iron wedges: vokeys are top of the line and always will be. i love the new options on the wedges that just came out putters: how can you argue with a scotty cameron golf balls: trust your titleist

Which of these titliest drivers would you recommend?
AK jr. replied to King Cobra II's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
as far as i know, the 905r and the 907d2 are pretty much the same. its all about shaft in a comparison of those. the 907d1 has a higher moi do to the shape and im pretty sure that its more forgiving which appeals to the higher handicaps. if you like a traditional look, i would go with the d2 -
