I loved wearing metal spikes. Someone once told me to use my lower body and legs for power. Ever since then I've done that, and subsequently needed a lot of traction... I have to make sure my soft spikes are fresh or my right foot will start slipping.

Yes, on my Thursday matches with a 4 some when it is mostly matchplay anyway we give those type of short putts. Ones that the guy will make 10/10 times. But NOT IN LEAGUE or tourneys.

You gotta hit 'em before you buy 'em. Go to a demo days or try to hit them somewhere. Many times you can't explain it, but you just "know" when you have the right club.

My thursday group plays "6 holers with dots" 6 holers is where you partner up with each of the other 3 players in your 4 some. You play against the other two. Each 2 man 6 holer team plays team dots. Dots are greenies and skins on every hole. Whoever gets the closest to the pin in regulation has to two putt or better or he loses the dot. You get a dot for an up and down out of a trap. You get a dot for a skin. We also play individual nassau for four $1's. If you win all ways you can win $4. When we have five players in one group sometimes we play wolf. In our group (0-3 handicappers) it takes serious balls to call wolf. Dots are worth $1.00. If one guy shoots a 68, he'll win $30-40. But usually most the bets even out.

League is where you'll find some of the worst rules infractions ever. As the new president this year I was blown away when I played with a group of 4 "regulars" (in a 5 some) and they were giving putts and picking them up. I DQ'd them all. They were pissed at me but so what? If you give a 1 foot putt you give a 1.5 foot putt. If you give a 1.5 foot putt, you give a 2 foot putt.... Now they putt 'em out and now their scores are a good 4-5 strokes higher...

The black is like a v1x with more spin to me. The gold is more like a V1.

I had some ballooning issues with the 56 off my driver. Strange ball flight... Nice off the irons and putter though.

I call him VJ all the time just so I don't have to type Vijay. Just like I call Phil "Lefty"... Anyway. The Moe swing looks quite flat to me. Very "Justin Leonardy".... If it works for you do it. Doesn't look like it would fit me.

The best shot I've seen this week and this year wasn't mine but I have to write this. This guy I played with shot a 29 with me. He hit the flagstick with his drive on a par 4, left it about 3 feet and made the eagle putt (his 2nd eagle in a row). Smokin.

I know the thread is what'd YOU shoot today. But today I played 9 with a guy who shot a 29, and he missed 4 makeable birdie putts... wow.

Depends on which municipality in our area (there are a few). One is doing well but the other bought a formerly private course for 17 million. They paid about 2x what they should have and they are losing their ass now.

74 at the nice country club that my pop is a member at. Hit my new G2 driver and killed it. 348 on the first hole! (ok, it was downhill).

Hmm. I bit of a good thing in my mental battle with golf today. Shot two over on the front and two under on the back. 72. New driver too. Didn't have any meltdowns on the back, which has been the problem lately...

This is a thread I can sink my teeth into. I like the targeting ideas Eric. Dave: Getting ahead of one's self is my main problem I think. I have many rounds this year where I'm several strokes under par and then think "wow, I could shot a...." That's the death thought... May need to check out the Rotella book.
