Who here has played the Old course at St. Andrews? My golf team is planning a trip there in the spring. I can NOT wait. Whats it like?

Im 18 and only been playing for two years.

The key for me with short putts is tempo. What works for me is to count to 4. On one, look at the hole. Two, back down at the ball, three take the club back and on four you should be coming through the ball. I used to miss short putts all the time, and my coach told me to do this and I immediately made 75 straight 4 footers.

Last week I was about 120 out on a 390 par 4... hit a wedge, flys in the hole but it pops out and kicks about 20 feet and onto the fringe! So I get up there, all mad that I hit a great shot and end up where I am... but sure enough, I chiped it in for birdie. Haha

Shot an 82 yesterday... terrible for my ball striking (12/14 Fairways and 13/18 GIRs) Couldn't putt to save my life. I average about 30 putts per round, today had 39! Put in my normal amount of putts and I shoot my best round ever of +1 (73) But no, golf isn't frustraing at all is it?

I average about 260-270 with a little cut or 270-280 with a draw. Need a new driver with a stiff shaft to get more distance...

I just moved from Virginia Beach, VA to Greensboro, NC. So I went from mostly all flat courses to nothing but hilly courses here in NC. I haven't had much experience with uphill/downhill lies and the ball being above and below my feet. I know this topic has come up many times, but I couldn't find any of those threads. Any suggestions, tips, etc for these types of lies would be greatly appreciated!

I am about about a 14 handicapper, decent putter, great with my wedges, consistent iron player, but my driver is all over the place. Push, pull, hook, low, high, everything. I know you'd have to see my swing, but is there any basic things that would cause this? I hit everything else in the bag pretty good, but theres something about the driver. I might just be overswinging? Who knows? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

With the odyssey white hot #1, how much of a difference is there between the tour and the xg? What makes the tour so much better? Sorry I know these are stupid questions.

I have been looking for putters recently but have a very, very limited budget. In my price range, I have found a used Odyssey White Hot xg #1 and a Ping G2i anser. Any comments about either of these putters or anything else that I could find at a reasonable price would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, i just bought an R5 on ebay about 2 months ago for $130+$15 shipping= $145. It was new with a headcover, but only had a stock TM shaft.

Hey guys ive been hitting a Nike Titanium 400cc driver for a few years now and its getting old and its time for an upgrade. (Ive been to low on money the last few years to upgrade) I'm looking for something around $250 or maybe a little more. Ive used alot of drivers in that range and my favorite two were the Ping G5 and the Taylor Made R5. I am a 17 handicap and getting better. I hit them both good and im just wondering which one you guys would suggest? or any other good drivers in the price range? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! P.S. Whats the big difference between the R5 and the R7? And I slice sometimes but usually more of a fade, would the Draw model of the R5 be good for me?
