  1. I rarely practice. The closest to practice I get is a little 9 hole walking course that I can get on for about $7 which is about the price of a large bucket at the range. I generally hit multiple balls when I play there so I consider it a practice round. I drop balls off the green and practive chipping, etc.
  2. My dad always played while I was growing up, but I was too busy playing "real" sports at the time like football, basketball and baseball. Got to college took a golf class for an easy A to get my gpa up and keep my scholarship and just kept on playing after that. Now every holiday I go home it's pretty easy to spend 4hrs alone with dad. Side note...golf is probably the hardest sport for me to play b/c you actually have to have some skill and knowledge of the game...no hustle points here.
  3. Hit a bunch and see which feels best to you. Grab some you weren't even considering...may surprise you.
  4. I got a Titleist 909D3 9.5* w/ Adila VooDoo stiff shaft. Also, got a Scotty Cameron ball tool and pivot tool. A dozen ProV1's. Got a couple bucks too. Might pick up something else. Oh and a round of golf with my dad on Christmas morning.....beat him for the first time in a yr or two. Merry Christmas to me.
  5. I normally bring out some Crystal Light and then refill with water.
  6. Played yesterday in shorts and a polo. It's painful in August though!
  7. I normally switch to my hybrid. Normally if my driver is off the 3-wood tends to follow suit.
  8. condom shot - didn't feel right, but safe Kate Moss - hit it thin George Bush - can't get out of the sand
  9. Really short 266 yd par 4. Pretty good tee shot that faded a little on me and ended up just past pin high to the right of the green about 7yds or so off. Green was elevated so had to chip up with no bump and run available. Grabbed the trusty 60* caught it fat, hit just short of the green and rolled back to about 18" to the left of where I was previously. Get a little upset, but still feel ok step up to it again and hit the same chip with the ball rolling back to about 2 feet behind where I was. Finally, didn't even take a practice swing hit the ball just on and it stayed up. 2 putted for a wonderful double bogey on a 266 yd par 4...awesome. I learned not to suck at chipping so much. Unfortunately, I couldn't have played the chip much differently. And would really rather be 7 yds off the green chipping than somewhere back in the fairway. Too bad it didn't work out this time.
  10. Golfer.....Do you think I can get it there with a 5-iron? Caddy............Eventually.....
  11. For my last 14 rounds (when I started keeping track) I hit 51% of the fairways and 36% GIR's. My average over par is 15.4 which gives you an idea of my skill level. I'm ok with my fairways hit, but would like to improve my GIR's. I also have a tough time getting up and down so I've been working on that to try to improve my scoring.
  12. I putt on my carpet at home as well. I'm going to try that shoebox trick as it should promote the straight back straight through swing I want. Right now I'm a little outside in...kinda of like my normal swing :( Now if I can only get my dog to stop running of with the balls as soon as I putt them.
  13. Wow I'm really surprised to see so many walkers. Here in Orlando it seems that most people are driving around the courses. I like walking, but I feel it is a little awkward to have my group go speeding off in front of me in their carts. It makes me speed up my walk to much and by the time I get to my ball I have to calm down for a sec before I proceed. I have been playing more frequently lately and might just start walking every time to bring down the cost. I'm 29 so walking isn't hazardous to my health and hey that means I have to do less cardio at the gym anyway.
  14. Whenever the others that have ordered this receive theirs and get to play with it a little I would love to hear what you think. The reviews I've seen online seem to be a love it or hate type deal, but who knows if those are golfers. I'm thinking about putting this on the Christmas list. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  15. I always wear golf shoes. I tend to slip some if I were regular shoes out to the course or range. I have a pair of Nike, Adidas and Ecco and the Ecco are by far the most comfortable of the 3 that I have. Granted my Nike and Adidas shoes aren't there top of the line models, but I paid about the same for all of them.
