The plastic zero friction tees are wonderful. I would buy a bunch if I could find'em. However, the wood ones splinter on me in very short order. In dry conditions they might last two holes for me. Might... Out of all the "specialty" tees, I like the stinger tees, but I haven't bought any more since my supply ran out months ago. It's just not worth it.

e7+ softness/feel
Spackler-esque replied to mhodar13's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
That's interesting. TGW lists the e7+ as a three piece ball with: Core - Polybutadiene Dimples - 330 Dimple Design Cover - Surlyn -

Yes. No (Surlyn). And I don't know, but probably softer than your Slazengers. The first two are easy to find. Do a little research next time. Bridgestone's site or TGW. -
How many Clubs do you carry?
Spackler-esque replied to 2bGood's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I've been switching out either my 3-wood, 19* hybrid, 3-iron, or 60* recently depending on the course being played and the conditions. Gotta stay at/under 14. -
Shot a 40 (+5) over 9 this morning in steady rain. 4 pars, 5 bogeys. I like this trend of not having any real blow up holes. Let the slow older foursome in front of me bother me too much... But really, when I was standing on almost every tee box with them and the course was wide open in front of them, there was no excuse for them not to let me play through except that they were just being crotchety ass holes...

Hahaha! Awesome answer. Spot on. Get her the irons. You could probably also get another $100 or so trade-in for those old TA2's according to the PGA value guide.
-
I can tell you that there's no problem with mixing sets. I do not have a problem going between three different sets during the course of the a round. Good irons perform if you swing'em well.

Yes! If you're going to be an ass hole you're going to be a Grade-A ass hole! But seriously... They messed up and offered to fix the club. However, stop saying you never asked for a new club. You asked for one as a loaner. You are the one who picked up the new club and said "let me use this for two weeks". You could've asked them to call the other stores. You could've showed some initiative in haggling. Instead, you made an ass out of yourself. That is according to your description, not to say anything for your responses to this thread. They did wrong, you did wrong. Two wrongs != right.

Another 38 today (+3) on McCabe's North course (34.9/62). Six pars, three bogeys. Putting was good. 2/7 fairways, 3/9 greens, 4/6 up and down. Gave myself several looks at birdie, just never converted... Much fun. Combines with yesterday's 38 on McCabe's middle course for a two-day 76. Awesome. Feeling pretty good about my game right now.

Just got back from a rain-soaked 9. 38. Tied my low 9 for the year. 1 birdie, 4 pars, 4 bogeys. 4/7 fairways (had a few that I just muffed. On line, but short... ugh...), 4/9 GIR. Always gave myself a chance to get up and down but only managed to once.

Why is Tiger no longer dominating like he used to?
Spackler-esque replied to senorchipotle's topic in Tour Talk
Tiger has never been invincible. He is awesome, don't get me wrong. I love what he's done for the game. But... Given the field vs. Tiger I have almost always taken the field and I have won a good bit with that. Now, taking an individual in a tournament? Tiger is your best bet. He's led the tour in scoring average for how many years? I think it's something like eight of the last nine years. That's just absurd. -
I hate the look. I like the concept that they've created with the colored dots. I don't think I will ever play Ping irons, though I have hit my uncle's Beryllium Ping irons very well when visiting without mine. They're nice, but ugly. Hence not wanting to play them...

Yeah... Did that, too. Some small 9-hole course near DC. Down hill, down wind... drove the back edge of the green and then proceeded to four-putt for bogey. So damn painful...

90 on Barefoot Fazio from the Blacks. Just didn't have it again today.

PGA.com Value Guide
Spackler-esque replied to bogeyhitter25's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
The place I usually trade goes straight to the site. I've gotten about the mid-range most of the time on my trades. As long as the clubs are in good condition it hasn't been a big deal. -
92 from the tips at Barefoot Norman in Myrtle Beach. Started well, and then lost my swing for about 5 holes. Went 49-43 for a 92. Finished birdie, bogey, par, birdie. Should've been much, much better.

Slow 9 this afternoon... 40 (+5). Four pars, five bogeys. Three fairways and four greens hit. Only managed to get up and down once. Ugh! Ball striking was really crisp today. Enough better than usual that I was consistently about 1/2 club longer than I was expecting with my irons. Really good yet really frustrating at the same time.

According to the PGA Value Guide Titleist 731pm irons are worth (resale) anywhere between $260 and $316 with the mid-range set being called $300 (based on 131 transactions). Bookmark and use that site. It's good.

Was not a fan of the FPs. They did not fit my eye. They followed a set of Nike Forged Pro Combos and I never got comfortable with them. Thicker topline and general look at address messed with me. Changed to Titleist 735CBs and then my current setup and both were much more comfortable for me . I was used to a more players club and couldn't get over the topline and offset. I can see how they are great GI irons as I have recently hit similar clubs well (when borrowing from friends/family on vacation). Just not for me.

85 today. Drove a lot better than normal (first round with my new baby after some range time). Only hit 4 fairways but my misses were usually in the first cut as opposed to in real trouble. The rest of my game... let me down. Only 6 GIR (2 of them 3 putts...) and 3/8 up and downs. Yuck...
-
91 today. I feel lucky to've only been that high with as poorly as I was hitting my driver/3-wood and putting. Constantly playing out of trouble and consequently not giving myself good looks at pars most of the time. Yuck! That's what I get for an almost three-week layoff!

Shake it off and go out thinking positive thoughts next time and you'll be fine. I had one of these days today, too. No reason to panic.

How Many Wedges Do You Carry?
Spackler-esque replied to teece31's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
So... Why isn't the pitching wedge a wedge? That just seems silly to me as it's called a pitching wedge . 4. PW (47), 52, 56, 60. Covers me from about 130 and in. Though if I get a 2 hybrid/5 wood of some sort it will rotate with one of those depending on the course. Could go 3 (47, 53, 58), but I'm not bending the 52 or buying a new 58 yet.
