  1. Open up caddysync click on support on the upper right Scroll to the bottom and click on all support questions Click repairs and replacements Click how to Click My SkyCaddie is broken, how do I get it repaired or replaced Click ticket support and fill out the form and send it in. At least you won't have to wait on hold. Good luck!
  2. What are the easiest courses in the Northeast Orlando area? By easy, I mean widest fairways, or most forgiving with concern to OB off of the tees (particularly to the right). Or asked another way, which courses won't I need to worry about hitting a house off of the tee? So far, I believe it's probably something like: Mayfair Casselberry Wekiva I haven't played many others, so your thoughts are appreciated!
  3. I had a somewhat similar situation. The advice that I headed was to take a couple of lessons instead of investing in another club. I have no regrets. Sounds like you already have the clubs to fill the gap, you just need to work on hitting them properly.
  4. Agreed! I hit one today. Miserable. The noise it made coming of the driver rang my ear.
  5. I don't know if it's any better or not, but you have both the forum here and craigslist, which are both free. Depends on how quickly you want to get rid of it.
  6. Great tip! Particularly with regard to the arrows. I tend to try to write too much in too small a space. That one arrow will tell the story. I might change the size of the arrow to indicate how far off track the shot is.
  7. Than you everyone for the comments. I went and hit a few, and the G10 worked well for me into the net. Ultimately, what I discovered is that I have a swing flaw (probably flaws) when the hybrid is in my hand. I will work on it a bit, and if I need to make too many changes I will figure out whether I want a fairway wood or a long iron. I have been hitting the 4I reasonably well.
  8. Thanks for the input. I do set up as if I were setting up a 5 iron in terms of ball placement and stance. I will try it again and choke up on it-maybe tomorrow. I will try to be patient! CHRT, why did you sell the Burner? I will add the G10 and the Sumo to the list of clubs to swing. I will try to swing them outside on the range.
  9. Thank you for mentioning this! I have been using my 54 degree, and had a terrible day with it this weekend. I went to my P or W where there is room to roll out, and use the 54 for sand, flops, or where there isn't room to roll out. Another thing that I was doing was using too much backswing and decelerating through the ball. I have the confidence with the P and W to utilize less backswing and accelerate through the ball and the results have me happy!
  10. I have been considering purchasing a 2 or 3 hybrid or 5 or 7 wood to fill in between my Callaway X Hot 3 wood and AP1 4 iron (I LOVE the 3W, close to loving the 4I). Forgiveness is more important than workability. I am a high handicapper. I went to the launch monitor at Edwin Watts Golf and hit the following Hybrids with stiff shafts: Ping Rapture V2 Nickent 3dx Nickent 5dx Cobra Baffler Burner perhaps 1 or two others that I don't recall their names On the machine, I hit the Burner with the least dispersion, could draw and fade it, and only hit one slice. The club felt good! I bought it and went to an oversize grip (all of my clubs have oversize grips due to large hands). During this session, I was swinging at 75-80% because my knee was bothering me. No idea on the swing speed as they mentioned the swing speed portion of the machine was not working. I didn't ask how, but the machine still provided ball flight and distance. Thinking about this now, it sounds odd. I went out and played over the weekend, and this is a hook machine in my hands, when I swing full speed. My natural ball flight is a fade and a miss is a pull or a slice right. I hit again today, and same thing. My son hit's it well. His swing is in the 85 MPH range with the driver. I am in the 110 range. Is it normal to have to slow your swing with a Hybrid? Anyhhow, he just received a new 2009 Burner Hybrid! I hope you love it Brandon! Please share your experiences with Hybrids and Fairway Woods. I hope to make another purchase shortly and want to see if I can learn anything from your experiences, good or bad with both hybrids and 5 or 7 woods. I have already learned on my own to swing in the store like I do on the course. Thank you in advance, Jay
  11. I have a Rife 2 Bar and Love it! Try a few out, because I didn't care for the feel of the other Rifes Models.
  12. Yelling "get in the hole" doesn't bother me at all when there is a good chance for the ball to drop in the hole. It shows enthusiasm for the sport. It certainly seems to be yelled too much. The statements regarding drunks and drinking seem ironic to me considering golf is one of the only sports that I am aware of where alcohol is served to the participants.
  13. I can recommend buying this driver with the stock stiff shaft. I did, and love this driver. The stiff is still a little soft, so if an x is available, I would consider that. I will probably reshaft this or buy another one and give this to one of the kids if they play hs golf. Of all the demos I hit, the dispersion and distance on this club were far better than any of the others. Is there anyway you can get to a store and hit it with one of the stock stiff shafts?
  14. Next time you feel the tension, particularly if it's caused by one of your buddies, step back behind the ball and put yourself at the 150 marker on the tenth hole mentally. Think about that time where you hit the green on 7 of 8 attempts from 150, and step up to the ball with that confidence. Know you are going to hit it correctly.
  15. I'd take the advice that I pay for over the free advice any day. How do you shoot when your not playing with your buddies? Are they one of the sources of tension that causes the game to go south?
  16. The relevance is that the dicitonary definition is socially acceptable by most, if not all of the people I know. Would I consider putt putt golf? It wouldn't be any different than how I reference T-ball, which I don't consider baseball, so no. I don't know enough about the Big Break to have an opinion. I suppose that I am still learning where that line is for me, and right now it's probably between a scramble and putt putt.
  17. The rules of golf aren't even mentioned in the definition of the word golf, according to Dictionary.com. golf   /gɒlf, gɔlf; Brit. also gɒf/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [golf, gawlf; Brit. also gof] Show IPA –noun 1. a game in which clubs with wooden or metal heads are used to hit a small, white ball into a number of holes, usually 9 or 18, in succession, situated at various distances over a course having natural or artificial obstacles, the object being to get the ball into each hole in as few strokes as possible. 2. a word used in communications to represent the letter G. –verb (used without object) 3. to play golf. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Origin: 1425–75; late ME; of uncert. orig. Related forms: golfer, noun Dictionary.com Unabridged Based on the Random House Dictionary, © Random House, Inc. 2009. Cite This Source After thinking about this a bit, it looks like we can identify four types of players that are relevent to David's original post. Purists that believe if you aren't playing by the rules, as written, you aren't even playing golf. Those learning, that can break some of the rules, so they have good lies, and don't become overly discouraged through the leanring process, but value the rules and want to play by them. Those that don't care about following the rules to the Tee, and only play golf casually (they may be learning to hit a ball, or already know how). Those that just don't give a damn about the rules. If this is acceptable, then you can probably deduce that the closer you are to being a purist, the more difficult it is to relate to someone that doesn't give a damn, and vice verse. Finally, it is my opinion that hitting a ball with a club, on a golf course, will continue to be recognized as golf, regardless of the rule set. Even by some purists.
  18. Shorty, the OP eliminated Golf from the list, so it wasn't even a consideration with my post.
  19. I just don't understand why you wouldn't call it "playing golf". For another thread I suppose. I definately agree with this statement.
  20. I believe it was said on the first page, but I believe the modern pentathlon is it. This includes shooting, fencing, a 200 meter freestyle swim, show jumping, and a cross-country run. The only event that you are competing against someone else is fencing, the rest of it is you against the course, each requiring varied skills.
  21. I believe we are talking about the same type of player...One that hooks one into the woods, and takes a mulligan, or gives himself a club length gimme, or relief from a tree in front of him. It's not by the rules, but there are a slew of individuals that play this way, and refer to it as golf. Perhaps they don't call themselves golfers, but they say they are playing golf. I am not sure if there is another recognized name for it. This may or may not be the same person that combos or banks a pool shot off of an opponents ball, but I do believe the analogy is valid-not sure if that would be considered a house rule or not, but it's still called pool. Take for instance the LPGA pro that was teaching my wife. She says while she's learning, to tee the ball up, even in the fairway. Perhaps it's not playing golf, it's certainly not by the rules, but it's not only accepted by the local pro, it's actually endorsed by her! I am not going to argue with my wife that she isn't playing golf though. She's learning and when she is good enough, will play by the rules. She doesn't even keep score at this point in time, and to keep the game moving, often plays best ball. I am not trying to defend the breaking of the rules. I am just trying to offer David a valid reply to his question, because I believe I understand why someone would intentionally break the rules and take a mulligan, or improve their lie. Honestly, I wouldn't doubt it if on a Saturday or Sunday, it wasn't more common to see it played this way, as opposed to adhearing to the rules, local or not.
  22. Check out the instructional videos at www.pga.com click video, then the instruction tab and then drill through the menu until you get to hte video you want to see. Some of them don't play reliably, but, for the price, it's a good value...they are free.
  23. David, Are there other sports with modified rules? I believe that there are. Billiards or pool comes to mind. I speculate that you and the people that play without regarding the more specific rules, have different objectives with the game of golf. For many, following rules isn't as fun. For them, it's more fun to improve the lie than it is to hit it as it lies. As far as understanding it, I would bet that someone that plays this way doesn't understand why some are so stringent with the rules.
  24. Google worst pga scores: http://dontcostnothing.wordpress.com...-the-year-pga/ Might take more searching to beat the 89, but I have to run! Have fun with this...
  25. I shoot in the mid 90s right now. Last time out, I hit 7 OB off the tee so lost 14 strokes to over-zealousness, and shot a 94. I am playing with AP1s and as I improve, I am thinking AP2s might have been a better choice. Now, I might just change out the AP1s to something else one club at a time. I do like my AP1 Gap wedge, but haven't had to try to work it much. Time will tell. One of the reasons I wish I went with the Ap2, is because I went with the Project X 6.0 shafts, which put the cost at the same price as the AP2 off the shelf.
