  2. When you see pars and bogeys instead of double bogeys and "is there a name for that score?" numbers on the scorecard.
  3. I had my best round yet-93! First time I'd ever played this course. I was set to break 90 until the last hole and then I ran into trouble on my tee shot. My putting was probably the best ever-mostly 2 putts and I sunk a few one putts from several feet away. Chipping was good too. There were just a few times I came up short in the fairway. A lot of satisfaction just knowing I could break 100. Can't wait to get out again!!
  4. I just ordered the Ping Rhapsody women's driver. I can't wait for it to get here!
  5. Ok. Noted. :)
  6. There's a hole at Hampton -12, I think-that from the women's tee is like hitting into the side of a mountain. Will tell you that there are a free holes where you can't see the flag from the tee. I played Georgia National recently-nice course. I played Cherokee Run in Conyers. The fairways were zoysia-no roll at all. Course played so long. I play Royal Lakes and Chicopee Woods (both in Oakwood area) the most often.
  7. Steel Canyon. I played the Hooch last summer and enjoyed it. SC is closer to home so I usually go there. The greens aren't the best right now though. Headed to the driving range at the Hooch on Friday. I need to check the rates and get up there sometime this summer. Have you played Hampton Golf Village in Cumming? My goodness that's a hilly course. I played Mirror Lake in Villa Rica and Traditions in Braselton last week. Both were in fantastic shape.
  8. Thanks! I can hold my own. :) I've hit better than some of the guys I've played with and they are generally supportive (the younger guys more so). Perhaps I'll give it a go very soon!
  9. I play a par 61 course alone in the evenings and some weekends. I'm able to focus on my game and take a little extra practice with chip/pitch/putt (provided no one is right behind me). I haven't gotten up the nerve yet to go to a par 72 course alone and join a group. My game is improving but I guess it brings up the question....are men receptive to playing a round with a woman they don't know? I've been asked to join groups of guys ahead and behind me that see me play on the shorter course. But sight unseen just teeing off on the first hole? Never tried it.
  10. When I play alone, I have a push cart (caddy-tek - love it!). When I play with others, I ride. Walking gives me a little more time to think about the next shot and I actually don't feel as rushed getting in and out of a cart all the time.
  11. Congratulations!
  12. I do that all the time. I'll sometimes repeat in my head "somebody else will watch the ball." a couple of times when I'm setting up. Even if I'm playing by myself, chances are I'm still going to see the ball in flight when I do lift my head after impact. Michelle Wie says "pick a spot on the ball - even just one dimple - and watch it all the way through impact." That helps a lot!
  13. I played fri, sat and sun. Best score was Sunday-shot a 74 on a par 61 executive course. Great to the green but chip and pitch is my weakest point. Considering I walked it in 90 degree weather (and it's a very hilly course) and the greens aren't the best, I'm pretty pleased. Best score ever at that course. Determined to break 70 by July. Did well off the tee so I'm pretty happy with that. 40/34
  14. Thank you :)
  15. Curious....what's ridiculously long for a female golfer (non pro that is). I'm close to even of past the guys in my group pretty consistently.
  16. A new top and skirt and 2 boxes of Bridgestone Lady Precept balls. Online, I purchased a new push cart. Can't wait to use it on Sunday.
  17. Thank you!
  18. Are you serious? I have never heard of that.
  19. If it wasn't for Eddie Bauer, I'd have to wear shorts or skirts all year. :) I haven't thought about the weight differential between men and women's irons. I've hit with them for so long that I'd probably throw a women's club out of my hands!
  20. Yes...to which I reply "are you sure?"
  21. I actually use men's clubs as the women's clubs are just too short. Shoes? Men's - as the ladies sizes do not cater to us taller girls. ;) - 6'1" I'll agree the ball selection is low - I finally settled on the Bridgestone Lady Precept and I've been happy with it (the Noodles were no good for me). I also like the Titleist DT 90. Gloves? I use a men's size as the women's are too short to fit my fingers. It is kind of a square peg in a round hole when it comes to women and golf. But they aren't shy about the prices of clothing. As mentioned, $90 (or MORE) for a skirt?!
  22. Thank you!
  23. Shift my weight to the left and speed through impact.
  24. Congrats! I've gotten close (my avatar is the closest I've gotten - about 2 weeks ago). Would be nice to have a witness but I can only imagine what it's like to see that ball drop.
