  1. I finally figured out who Brian Skatell reminds me of. For all you poker fans Skatell is a lesser version of none other than Phil Hellmuth. Both have an overdeveloped sense of their own talent. Yes PH has won more bracelets than anyone else, but his game is very out of date, and he gets eaten alive by the younger internet types. Skatell's comments like, "I pured it, 20 feet past the hole" are very much like, "Honey, he called me with queen ten off, these northern European idiots!!!" Seperated at birth
  2. You are exactly correct. HB
  3. I'd love to see Andrew and Kevin outlast Blake and Mike, they would throw fits if it happened, I am sure. HB
  4. Hi folks, I recently picked up the Golf Channel when we upgraded our cable package. I immediately got hooked on The Big Break. I am watching Big Break Disney on Tuesdays. I also have watched Big Break PEI, Michigan, and Mesquite on the Golf Channel's website. However those three series are the only ones which are posted on the website for viewing. I was wondering if anyone knew where one could see the other Big Break series? HB
  5. No offense taken, I have learned a that a great sense of humor is an asset to someone like myself, its a zen thing!! Essentialy, you are saying any low spin ball is what I need to be gaming. HB
  6. Your comments are spot on. HB
  7. I can't hit a hybrid with less than 25* of loft at all, The 9 wood I carry fits the niche that most people carry a hybrid for I guess. HB
  8. Does anyone have a lot of experience with both of these ? I am wondering which one is suited to my 100+score golf game? HB
  9. Yep, 1 win, 2 happy countries. HB
  10. My putter is face balanaced and I like it a lot. HB
  11. I was watching the coverage of the tournament from Disney yesterday, and was very impressed with Steven Ames 64 for the win. Felt bad for Justin Leonard, but delighted for Ames. His ten year old boy seemed to enjoy it as well. Up here he gets overshadowed by Mike Weir, but I like to see him do well too. HB
  12. I used to bag some Tour Edge clubs, but the lack of offerings for us lefties, encouraged me to switch to Ping before I built my current bag. HB
  13. One wonders how long someone like Derek keeps on kicking at the can trying to make it. It must be frustrating. HB
  14. I started watching Big Break during the P.E.I edition. As a fellow Canadian I was cheering for him. I think your opinion is pretty much correct. From watching the show, I think his course management is not as good as it should be. I'd love to see him make it tho. HB
  15. Hi there, As can be seen by my sig, as I am retooling my bag I have a gap. My 24.5* Ping G10 9 wood is my favorite club in the bag. With my glacially slow swing I get about 145 yards on average from it. My first iron is the G10 7 Iron which goes about 115 on average. I suppose I have three choices. Ideally I would bag something like a 29* 11 wood if I could find such a thing, as I love the 5W and 9W. I suppose an iron with a similar loft would be a good choice for many, but I am not sure I'd hit it as good as a FW. Many would put in a hybrid in the gap, but I have found that the Ping and Taylor made hybrids I have hit are banana slice machines for me. Does anyone know of an older FW that has about 29 degrees that I can look for? Can anyone suggest a really forgiving hybrid with similar loft which could fill that gap? HB
  16. I am far from a low handicapper, but I wouldn't want to play without my 9 wood. Wish I could find an 11 wood at around 29 degrees. BTW I have never found a hybrid that I hit well
  17. Hi, I was thinking about getting a Ping G10 9 wood to replace the 24 degree hybrid, which is a real slice machine for me. I hit the 4 wood better than the hybrid, and the 7 wood is a marvelous club which gives me about 155-165. I have a gap since I get about 135-140 out of the 5 Iron, and I am more consistant with the 7 wood. Does anyone bag high lofted fairway woods anymore? HB
  18. 89 on an executive course par 62. I didn't hit the ball well at all, except for the Niblick which was marvelous from 20 - 60 yards out. HB
  19. Hi, and pardon the lengthy post. I am a slow swinger, about 80 mph, who decided to move from a 10.5 * Tour Edge driver to a 13.5* Ping G10 draw both at 44 inches and A flex, based on reading a lot of Tom Wishon's books, and wanting to get a few more yards via optimal launch conditionds. I am unable to access a launch monitor, as there are none anywhere within 2 days driver of here. Anyway the TE driver used to get me about 180 yds total on average with a fairly low trajectory. The Ping is a rocket launcher giving me about 160 with no roll. I can't handle losing 20 yards off my drives. I think I am hitting down on the ball, and will attempt to remedy this. I was wondering if reshafting the Ping with a PL red 62 grams with an R flex might make sense, or maybe the UST Proforce V2 65 gram in R flex (these two are options from the Pingwrx shop). I really wan't to keep the Ping in my bag as it was a gift from the kids
  20. With my high lofted driver a high teed ball will balloon. I tend to tee it up so that maybe 1/4 of the ball is above the face of the driver. HB
  21. Indeed, I am sure the golf community is behind her. HB
  22. That is rough. Too bad you didn't get it back. HB
  23. nicely done
  24. Lots of good deals out there now. HB
  25. I don't know how much more expensive these would be but I'd think about the Lift Off set from Tour Edge. http://www.touredge.com/products/liftoffsets.asp
