  1. I think he's great. He just comes off as being a little daft at times, and the serious people don't like that. He's a lot more fun to listen to than the "Mr. Hawaii" guy. Someone needs to tell Rolfing that boring an whiny is no way to be, especially when you've never really done anything other than hang around country clubs all your life.
  2. Apparently they don't much care to tell you anything unless you bug them about it. All I could get out of them was the model year and that the archives were out of their reach. When I messaged back about talking to someone that had access to the archives, I got no answer. What do you mean you are trapping the ball? That's what you want, unless you're hitting a smothered (duck) hook.

    Mini Tour Play

Good Job Ben. When is the next round of qualifying?
  4. They are either 88 or 89 models. Do the shafts still have their lables? There is a serial number you can use when you contact wilsonstaff.com customer service and they can tell you what year in particular.
  5. No you are not. Most people will let a single play through without a problem, but won't always offer first, so you need to ask. And if they refuse, just let the shop know at the turn. I'm sure the manager won't like hearing how one group is clogging up his revenue stream and will do something about it.
  6. We just bought a home with vaulted ceilings, some as high as 12 feet. Problem solved. I can swing my driver in the living room! My wife wasn't too happy when I suggested a net in there...
  7. OK mine are 1990 models according to the Wilson people, so yours are either 88 or 89s, unless they are FG-53s, in which case they are 91 or newer. They can't provide any other info because they say that they don't have access to the archives?!?
  8. HELL NO...Augusta wouldn't be either. There are much better courses to play for a lot, lot less.
  9. Happy New Year! Actually it's current. I am the guy looking to find out more about my Goose Necks. I found these in A resale shop and they are in mint condition, so I re-gripped and I am using them. If you have read through the thread, you can see that mine are different than what most other people have. I haven't been able to locate another set like mine and I'm trying to find out why. I know that Goose Necks without the FG designation were made from 1988-1990, but for whatever reason the font on mine is different from any other I have looked at. I'll send you a PM with my email address and if you want I can send you photos of mine to show to your father. Also, that catalog would be great! Thanks for responding.
  10. I know. I can't find any that match them either, and I have looked everywhere. I figure they are either a prototype, or they are a fake. I can't believe they would be fake though. Counterfitting was not a problem back in those days, at least as I remember. It's Monday morning and I'm still waiting for an answer from Wilson. If these were built by them, then they would have something logged somewhere.
  11. Having trouble uploading photos, so I put the 5 iron as my avatar. You should be able to see what I mean.
  12. Hey Big Red, You are 100% correct. These irons are wonderful, as good as any of the modern stuff out right now. I have a wuestion about them that maybe you can answer. All of the WS irons have this cursive font for the iron number, but my GNs have this blocky, more modern font. I have not been able to find another example like mine anywhere, and I'm wondering why. Have you ever seen any with a different font?
  13. Sorry all I could get was the 4-9 irons, so I'm building a set around them. As soon as I get word from Wilson I'll post so keep an eye on the forum.
  14. I sent an email of to Wilson with pics of the clubs and the serial #s off the shafts two days ago. I'm hoping to hear from them early next week. I'm still wondering about these things, since the iron number font on mine is different from normal WS fonts.
  15. If you are still following this I found an identical set, only its just the 4-9I. I checked with Global Golf, I think it was, and they looked up my serial #s and they were from the 1991 model year. Other than that, I am also having a hell of a time trying to get information about them. Like yours, my grip were all rotted out so I had them replaced and have actually been using them for a couple of rounds. If you can hit a blade you will loooove these things. I am seriously thinking about building a whole set around what I have. Let me figure out how to upload pic on this site and I'll send along what I have.
