  1. I'm contemplating trying to engineer my own sounds that follow the Tour Tempo philosophy (3:1), but are smoother in nature. If any of you watched the Haney project, that tool that Hank had Charles use where he could "hear" his swing kind of inspired me. http://www.sonicgolf.com/ Rather than three tones, I'm thinking of a consistent sound that progressively "peaks" at the top of the downswing, and then at the moment of impact. Basically mimicing the sound sample they have on the Sonic golf website, but ensuring its in the 3:1 tempo Anyone else think this might be a good idea? Perhaps I will give the current system another try first to see if I just need to get the hang of it - I really believe the importance of tempo is not over estimated by the author
  2. My friend has come and gone, and I played well while he was here So today, I finally took my MP3 player to the range to do the Tour Tempo workout described in the book - went thru all the drills and was really feeling the 'music' - then i began with full swings... and it was complete disaster. I tried with the headphones on, with them off, at 24/8, 21/7 and 27/9 - everything was terrible - we are talking shanks, tops, fatsies and everything in between, a range session that was as bad as when i first picked up the game - i am distraught - i had very high hopes. I think the issue with me is two fold, first, my tempo was not very slow to begin with so the "quick fix" aspect of book was probably out the window - 2nd, the "3 chimes" got my swinging in a very choppy manner - even when I realized this was part of my problem i still had trouble not getting very jerky and cutting off my shoulder turn in anticipation of the beeps I stopped about halfway thru my bucket because i did not want to engrain whatever i was doing out there into my memory - anyone with success with this program experience any disasters to start? I'm thinking that a different type of smoother sounding tracks might work better for me
  3. every generation thinks that the generation coming up behind them are going to hell in a handbasket. They are always shiftless, lazy, disrepectful and listen to disgraceful music. In 30 years, the teens on this board will be saying the same things about teens at that time. Its an undisputed fact of life.
  4. Without a doubt, the dumbest thread ever can be found here - http://thesandtrap.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25547
  5. I just got the book and the CD - even before I got them, I started thinking about picking up the pace of my backswing on my driver with great results - its pretty amazing how the pace of your backswing translates into more club head speed effortlessly - quick question for those of you who have used this system to improve your game - I have an old friend coming to visit tomorrow for 3 days of solid golf. Do you think it would be productive to do some of the drills tonight in my back yard (with no ball) with the CD tracks... or should I wait until he is gone at the end of this week? I just don't want to go out and pull a Luke Skywalker, confronting Vader before my training was done
  6. I had a nasty case of shin splints in high school when I played basketball. Nothing helped but rest. Cut a season short for me. I know some people view it as heresy, but I would consider taking a cart for the next month or so, and if you run or something for exercise, take a break from that as well, and consider swimming for cardio work. I believe they can turn into stress fractures if they are abused and you saw where that left Tiger I think taking a cart for a month is a better option than losing the season should they get really bad.
  7. You know, if there is one thing that bugs me more than arrogant people, its overly sensitive ninnys who have completely bought into the "everyone is special and is a winner in their own way" society and think it is a capital crime if someone doesn't think that they are just wonderful for shooting 110 because they tried really hard. You stink at golf. I stink at golf. There are many, many people out there much better than us, and could teach us many things. Would it better if every good golfer out there was always supportive? Yeah, that would be great. But is it their responsibility to nurture you? You can still learn a lot of things from jerks, if, and only if you can put your ego aside and listen to what they have to say even if it doesn't make you warm and cuddly inside. Grow up, and quit whining.
  8. Interesting, recently my bank sent me a message and said that they were sending me a new credit card because my other card had been potentially compromised in a security breach in a retailer I had shopped at, but didn't provide the name, I have ordered a product from Medicus before - perhaps they are the retailer. The golf industry, online especially, seems wrought with frauds and crappy business practices. Just had a run in with TGW.com recently.
  9. Sounds like they are generally a decent company, but others have had the same issues with incorrect stocking status being displayed next to products. Thats my main beef, that they claim that they are different because you aren't left in the dark about whether or not they have the item in stock like "other" golf sites, but in fact, they are exactly like other e-tailers that realize that showing an item as out of stock could mean people would look elsewhere. So they are basically full of crap (claiming to do something "special" that they don't really do) , but I guess if their prices are good, people are willing to put up with it - Thanks for the feedback from everyone -
  10. I must have missed the thread you are talking about, but if you really wanted to shut people up, just post the video instead of starting another thread where you threaten to post a video. Cut out the middle man. I'd love to see it personally.
  11. gotta go commando with those shirts - I have about 5 of them and have worn them exclusively this year playing golf - except for once when I got behind on laundry and wore a cotton polo with a t-shirt underneath. It was disgusting! I am officially spoiled by these new fabric shirts. Sweating in cotton just feels like I jumped in a salt water pool by the end of the round in these humid summers here in TN. The car ride home was the worst. My shirt got cold and clammy. As I said before, I'm spoiled now.
  12. I have heard some good things about TGW in the past, and I was looking for a shag bag, just browsing on Amazon, and saw that TGW had one available thru the Amazon marketplace. Long story short, I ordered the bag at the start of May, with an estimated delivery of May 12th. I still don't have it. I wrote to them, and they claimed they had a stock out. Thats fine, it happens, but there was NO indication that they didn't have the product available. They happily took my money and then told me to pound sand when I asked when it would be arriving. The ironic thing is that TGW has this posted as part of their company profile on Amazon - The Golf Warehouse is also dedicated to providing the largest and broadest selection of golf products in the world. Unlike other "online" golf shops who leave you in the dark as to whether you have just purchased a product that is in stock or whether it has to be ordered. Obviously, they aren't as different as they claim to be, as they did hide the fact that they didn't have the product in stock from me. I was truly in the dark and have missed 1/3 of the summer using the product I bought a month ago. I would SERIOUSLY think twice about ever shopping again with them, and would NEVER buy a set of clubs or some other major purchase. Maybe others have had other experiences, but I'd chalk that up to the luck of the draw and not anything they do especially well. I suspect like so many other companies that hit a certain size, they have lost the attention to detail and good customer service that got them to where they are now. Be wary of them, and don't let their past reputation make your decision for you.
  13. I see you are located in TX, you may want to consider going with a full cord grip. It really makes a big difference for me in the hot humid summers here in TN. They take just a little getting used to in terms of the abrasiveness, but I never got any blisters or anthing. The extra grip really helps me keep a light grip pressure when I'm sweating in the summer heat, and since they are tougher on the skin if you do choke them, it encourages a light grip in all weather
