  1. As in my sig, I am a 47.06, 51.06, and 58.10 wedgeman. I have tried a few other options, but settled on this one. The gap between the wedges has eliminated the gaps in my game. My 58 is my sand wedge, lob wedge, greenside wedge. Depending on where I am, and type of shot, I will use the 51 or 47 to chip. Generally, I don't need the carry/roll these provide as I am close enough for a 1/4 or more swing of the 58 (depending on needed roll). I once read somewhere (I think it was in "The Art of the Short Game" by Stan Utley) that players should have a go-to wedge for around the green. I decided on the 58 for that club. It has enough bounce for most sand traps, loft for trouble shots, and can reach the green from within 100yrds. It all comes down to what you feel you need. In my case, I had always seemed to be in, or on the wrong side of, bunkers. So I combined my sand wedge needs with my lob wedge needs. Works great for me. Hope this helps!
  2. +1 (X10)!! I've played in the rain with these. My clothes got saturated before my grip slipped!
  3. It is where I learned to golf, and mostly where and how I fell in love with the game! There are so many courses to choose from. Each and every course has it's own ups and downs. The only thing I didn't like about some of the cheaper courses was how hard the greens get in the afternoon.....like cement painted in John Deere Green!
  4. I posted this on another thread, but it still applies.... I totally went through the same thing last year. I decided to rebuild my game from the green to tee. I tested every wedge out there at as many demo days as I could find. What I ended up doing was buying the CG14 52, 56, and 60. I loved them, they felt good, and the spin was excellent. Then I started looking for replacement irons. That is when I found the Mizuno MP-T wedges. I immediately traded the CG's in on the 47, 51, and 58. These where a little lighter to swing, which actually made the feel better. I am not completely sure how to explain this, but I could feel when I put to much or to little into my swing. I could feel when I hit it wrong, or dead on the sweet spot. Finally, the spin to me was much better because I could control it more. After a year of playing with them, I can get the ball to stop from most distances and lies. This has been the biggest benefit to my game. You can get the MPT Wedge for $40 used at a lot of places. The sole is amazing when it comes to the way it handle all the different types of lies found on a course.
  5. Very cool! I am from the Scottsdale/Peoria areas. LOVE the golf in AZ!!
  6. Yup! I use my 58 a lot! The worst thing for me is when I just want it to go 70yrds and I end up flying the green. Luckily, I have been working on my greenside game. I have gotten a lot better, and closer to the pin, from around the green. Hey Max, what part of AZ are you in? AZ is my home, but I am in the NAV so I live where they tell me! lol
  7. Sadly, this is the largest part of the problem. Stereotyping the LEGALLY armed citizens. I am one such individual. I am licensed to carry in two seperate states. With these I can legally carry in 30+ states. I do not carry because I feel I need to. I do not advertise myself as a victim, nor do I put myself into places that increase my risks on a normal basis. I carry because there is always the chance that someone may need assistance. I am not just protecting myself, I am protecting all those around me. An arm society is a polite society. This is a very true saying. Once a society is used to the fact that people are possibly carrying, people tend to not be rude and selfish.
  8. I have the 52's. I love them! A lot of people said Mizuno was "too much club" for my game. So far they have brought my game to their party!
  9. Some days I get so mad that I can't get it UNDER 100! I think it is because I end up de-lofting it when I am trying to shorten the distance. I choke up, swing less, but hit it better. Go figure!

This has been the biggest benefit to my game. To answer the side note: 47 approximately 120yrds 51 approximately 110yrds 58 approximately 100yrds I can push them farther by how I place the ball and address the club, but rarely do this. It is getting them to NOT go so far that gets tricky! The softer I swing, the better contact I make and off the ball goes! lol
  11. I do think so personally. Good luck!
  12. For me it's the clothes. I hit the sales rack at Kohl's, ROSS, TJ MAXX, Marshall's or where ever else I can get Golf Polo's for cheap.
  13. Isn't confidence all in the mind too? So, if my mind says there is a difference, and likes the difference, then (in my mind) the difference matters. To my mind, hitting cast clubs (Callaway X-22 for example) was like swinging hammers. Whereas swinging the Mizuno's felt like golf. But that's just in my mind.
  14. I don't really agree with this. Unless you are talking Mizuno Cast vs Forged. I have not hit their cast clubs. I have gone from cast to forged back to cast. There is a very noticeable difference in feel.
  15. ....and clubs are just not as cuddlie as a wife/gf....
  16. I totally agree with this. The flip side is that you can order a set anyway you want. So, if you can't hit the long/mid irons of the MP52, get them in the MX200. That will give you a lot of growth in the scoring irons down the road.
  17. But playing them is the treat!
  18. Nice! Yeah, not a fan of the "stand and guess" fitting system either. Going back to the mats, I hate them too. When there is no other choice, at least you get an idea of how the club feels swing and hitting the ball...not the mat.
  19. Even at a golf store you will get a proper fit from the Mizuno Rep. Worse case is that you don't hit them off the mats that well, but still like how they feel. It's a fitting/demo day....not like the rep is gonna charge you for the club due to mat damage! lol
  20. When dealing with Mizuno...how can great minds not align!?
  21. Go to the Mizuno Website and see if there is a fitting / demo day coming up in your area. I know we have one on Sat. but I had already driven 2hrs to attend one. I knew I wanted the 52's, just needed to know the shaft/length/lie/grip adjustments to order. I got to hit everything they sell, including the 52 on every shaft. It made a world of difference! Then I ordered my set off ebay from Waveland Golf. Brand new, set of 7 (the clubs I needed) for $685 shipped. I got the MP Fli Hi 3 and 4 with upgraded grips (Golf Pride Multicompound Red Round). They have a sets at: 6 for $555 7 for $640 8 for $730
  22. Yeah, I've gone a few rounds with that ball. To me, I like the 330 S more than the RX. Sadly, I get the ProV1 and x to hold greens better. That is followed closely by the 330 S. The RX just doesn't hold firmer greens the same.
  23. Did you blow your knees out from all that time praying for a better game? Cause, I think I did.... lol My best was in the 88-92 range.
  24. Those outfits, my color scheme....oh yeah. Can you say "Repeat business"?! Then there is always: Shanks Worm Burners
