  2. C Tapers are AMAZING!! I was too cheap to pay the up charge, as the set was 1400 already and have regretted it ever since. If you have a high ball flight the C Tapers in X should help. I also love the satin finish. The only difference btwn the CB and MB is CB has a 46 degree wedge and the MC and MB have 47. As long as you combine all the flavors of TP you did be fine. If you tried to play your Rocketbladez tour, you'd have a big gap. I plan on throwing some sensicore inserts into mine BC if you don't pure them, you do get some harsh feedback. Heel strikes are particularly jarring. Toe shots aren't as bad. Lmk if you need more feedback
  3. baby powder might make it worse once it gets embedded in the rubber. I feel for you because my hands sweat a lot. Try wiping with Gripes. I've switched to the New Decade Multicompound BC I didn't want to be Tommy 2 Gloves
  4. like others have said, it depends on your ballstriking ability and comfort at address. I'm a 7 handicap but lose most of my strokes with the putter. The AP2s are mildly forgiving and if you're getting to most greens in regulation and bleeding strokes around the greens then ballstriking isn't your problem and go for it. I have a mixed set (all forged) 3,4 CB / 5,6,7 MC / 8,9,W MB - MAKE SURE THE GAPPING IS CORRECT!! the lofts on AP1s are a degree stronger on a lot of clubs so the transition from AP1 to AP2 could have a large gap.
  5. the shafts are probably not too stiff, may feel a touch stiff, but the biggest difference will be in the heads. The MCs are much softer and the lofts are 1 degree weaker (I think). You'll hit them shorter and lower, but they'll feel great and be able to work the ball better. I hit the Rocketbladez tour 10+ yards longer, but had a tough time working it and keeping the flight low. My current irons are all TP Forged combo with Project X 6.0 - 3,4 CB / 5,6,7 MC / 8,9,W MB Lmk if you'd like more specifics. Ben
  6. tiny weights have a huge impact at the end of a 45 inch shaft. But like the other guy so aptly said, wait a year or 18 mos and the price will come down. I'm also hesitant to buy the first attempt at a new tech for TM. The R1 was terrible. I expect the second generation hybrid crown will be better. There will probably be some bonding issues with the carbon fiber to the titanium.
  7. An alternative is looking for graphite shafts in stiff. The lighter weight and vibration dampening could make that a viable option. I see quite a few sets on eBay with Tour AD iron shafts. This is a forged set from Mizuno item #131607970635 on eBay. There are quite a few AP2 sets as well. Good luck.
  8. I totally understand. I have a new driver in the mail. I think what's important is having a predefined notion of success. While I pound my driver, the dispersion is too great. I'm switching from the 913d3 to a 915d3 and from a Stiff to an X. The potential loss of distance in the increased shaft flex should be offset by the better distance when hit low in the face (which is my miss). If not for the 15 yards extra, I would have kept my driver. Every purchase should have a goal (better launch angle, tighter dispersion, different sound) only buy when it solved a problem. I feel for you BC I have the same compulsion.
  9. I think something super important is for you to decide on a short game style that you like. Are you a feel or a mechanical player. Feel players often use fewer clubs to execute more shots. Mechanical players use the same swing and the lofts and bounce angles to achieve the desired effect. You'll learn your style with lots of practice. IMHO you need to combine both.
  10. If you play soft courses the bounce will improve turf interaction. Also depending on your style of strike, picking vs really hammering down that can change the feel.
  11. Did anyone notice sidespin reduction and higher launch vs ProV1x and Srixon Z Star XV? It seems like all I can do is hit it high and straight, which sounds nice, but I play a windy course with a fair amount of greenside bunkers, with greens that almost all slope back to front, so working the ball around danger and letting it run to the hole is important. I also felt on chips it had a higher launch than the ProV1x or Srixon. Off the putter face it felt soft and sometimes seemed to explode. Drives launched higher than the ProV1x or Srixon and seemed to roll less and sounded much mushier. Anyone else notice those things? For reference I'm a 7 handicap, play Putter - Odyssey Metal X / Superstroke Squared Wedges - Vokey SM 60 / SM4 54 Irons +1/2, 2 Up, Project X 6.0 - Taylor Made Forged TP 3,4 CB / 5,6,7 MC / 8,9,P MB 913D3 9.5 (neutral) - Tour AD Di 6s (tipped 1 inch) 913FD 15 (.75 upright) - Tour Ad Di 6x 910h 17 ( 1.5 up) - Ahina 90 Stiff Thanks, Ben
