  1. This is the start of my second season of golf and have a 28.2 handicap. I generally get tee times around 8 or 9 the latest so I can be home in the afternoon to do other things... The question I have is, is it OK if a newb such as myself book the earliest possible tee time 6-6:30 am or is this frowned upon? I keep up with pace and even pick up on holes where I shoot over a 6 Off the tees, mid irons and wedge shots I feel i'm a decent player. But I AT LEAST triple putt every single hole
  2. Don't feel bad. I have my worst round pretty much every time I go out to play And I still have fun
  3. It looks like it's the real deal. Wow I just paid $95 for 4 grounds tickets on wed ($23.75 pp). I could've got it for $11 at stubhub
  4. I had the same problem and got a video analysis and turns out my swing was outside in on my drives. I flattened out my swing plane on my drives and can now hit it dead straight 240. Also on those occasions where I slice every now and then because my swing is inconsistent, I take out my 5 wood which goes about 220 but always straight. If I mis-hit my 5 wood, it goes right but not sliced. Just straight right rough.

    Legit handicap??

I use http://www.myscorecard.com It's about $10 / year and it's official USGA so far so good..
  6. I always wondered if I broke 100 since I scored 88 on a par 64 and never considered it to be truly breaking 100 because it wasn't a par 70-72. On par 70-72's I'm around 102-107 scoring. What do you guys think? Is this legitimate
  7. Hi all, I live in NY and was thinking about buying tickets to the US Open held at bethpage black (farmingdale, ny). Not sure when the next will be held and thought I'd take advantage of this "once in a lifetime" event. I was wondering if you guys can assist in helping me select what are considered the "best days" to go and if the below assertions are true I am looking to get ground passes on Sunday but have heard it is pointless because you will not be able to see much with all the crowds. Is it best to follow a particular player i.e tiger woods or simply camp out at one hole for the rest of the day? Any other tips on what I should to maximize my first visit to a pga tour event? Tickets on ebay seem to be going for $135 pp on sunday
  8. I measure greatness by two factors. # of majors, and # of wins. As of now, jack has more. So my vote goes to jack Although Tiger has surpassed Jack in many "milestones", he has yet to surpass those benchmarks i've just highlighted. With that said, Tiger can get hit by a car tomorrow so until he achieves it, he's second-rate in my book Andy
