  2. I'm pretty lucky in my area when it comes to golf courses. being where i live a lot of the golf resorts/actually really nice golf courses are owned by the gov and charge a very reasonable rate. there a 4 of those courses within an hour and a half of me 2 of them 15 mins in my area and its about 80 dollar green fee and line 35 bucks for a cart which is a lot but this is NICE golf, but the real way to go is a membership for me a junior i only pay like 200 bucks for my membership and my brother who is in his twenties get an "intermediate" which is around 700 and a normal membership is like 1200 or something. theres also some crappier course near me which are not near the quality as the ones i mentioned before but there decent. theres a nine hole course I'm also a member at which cost like 125 for the membership i golf there a lot with some of my buddies that are not as serious into golf. the membership for a junior i already said and a regular membership is like 550. and a green there is like 19 bucks and 12 dollars for a cart. that course or others like it in my area are not near the bang for ur buck as the government owned ones but a lot of people golf there too that can't justify the price.
  3. I'm actually very lucky and live about 15 minutes away from a golf resort with 2 high quality courses on it. me and my brother are members there and since they get a lot of tourists coming through and are trying to make the most money possible they seldom (when its busy at least) have less than 4 people in a group. so long story short me and my brother golf with strangers a lot. and i actually quite enjoy it, now of course we've have a couple dick heads, but in general its a great experience being from canada I've got to meet people from houston, south carolina, maine ect plus wall the different people i meet from the other provinces. i actually love it i get to meet new people and new personalities and learn about where there from.
  4. i had a pretty sweet round today at least for myself anyway i shot a 41 on the front tying for my best 9 ever and i was aiming to break 85 for the third time this year coming into the last two holes i could par out for a 82 so i was pretty pumped i went up to the day shot one in the woods and lost my first ball of the day. i ended up TRIPLE bogeying the last two hole for a 88 which don't get me wrong is pretty good score for myself just not what i was hoping for. i also got two birdies.
  5. I'm a 13 year old junior and a good drive for me is 220. Now not to say thats my average, since most slice into the woods or are cuffed 50 yards shy of where i want them to be, but an optimal shot for myself is 220, my best ever (that i measured out with my brothers laser) is 231, and a lot of the golfers me and my brother get paired with can barely outdrive me so ya your about right.
  6. I think anyone who can HONESTLY shoot below 100 is doing something right. Im a 13 year old junior and i usually shoot in the mid to low 90's, and on a good day i might just barely scrape into the 80's. And these scores are with not counting the odd 1 that goes in the woods or redoing an absolute duff of shot. In tournament play i seem to shoot the same as i do normally without all these mulligans ect. but i think thats just competition bringing out the best in me, CURRENTLY i don't think i could honestly get a 90's score consistently keeping proper score. So in my mind if you can break 100 keeping proper score your doing pretty good. FYI i shoot from the white. And just to add on another point, my older brother, who is in his mid 20's, and who i golf with 2-3 times a week, can hit it upwards of 300 yards, drive the green on some short par 4's, has a decent putting/chipping game and so forth. But every one in a while he'll fire 3 in a row into the woods or duff a couple shot and end up with a quadruple bogey (he shoots low to mid 80's) so the line from a okay golfer to a good one is very fine.
