  1. Nobody's mentioned Srixon AD333's. I have used them all year and been pleased. $20/doz at Academy, can't go wrong. Love the feel off the irons, love the bite on the greens even better...
  2. The closest place for me to demo is an hour's drive. I'd rather buy on my way to the range, if possible.
  3. Now to add a twist, has anyone picked up an offbrand hybrid/wood at someplace like Academy or Dick's? Do those clubs play that much different than a name brand (Callaway, TM, Tit, Cleveland, etc.)? Reason I am asking is, I really don't have much experience with either a hybrid or a 5w. I would love to pick up one of the "no name" brands to try it out. If it doesn't work for me, I'm not out much $$. Of course I know all clubs are going to feel just a little different. But, I'm looking for the difference in feel between a hybrid vs. a 5w, NOT the difference between brands on the same club. I don't have anyplace around me where I can try them out ahead of time. Thanks for responses.
  4. I am looking for advice on adding/replacing a club. My only fairway wood is an old 7w that is probably 10yrs old that I don't get a very confident feeling when I pick it up. My next club is my 4i. I can't decide if I want to pick up a new fairway wood (5w) or go with a hybrid of some sort. I have never even hit a hybrid so don't know much about them. What kind of distance difference do you see between hybrids and fairway woods (specifically 5w)? I do realize there is not an exact answer, I'm just looking for what experience some of you have had. Thanks
  5. r7's for $130!!! Provided they are in good shape.....you'd be better off asking forgiveness, not permission!!!!
  6. I just bought r7's and haven't looked back. I will be hitting these for a while. Great feel, forgiving, but workable as well. Never hit Nike's before so can't knock them. BIG r7 fan now.........
  7. This sounds like what I need to work on. I just need more range time. Don't get me wrong.....i am now a HUGE fan of the Diablo. This baby is fun to hit! It'll be even better to be able to really crush it. I am not having second thoughts at all. I, too, have yet to hear a bad review on the Diablo.
  8. Well, I am finally finding the Diablo easier to hit. My problem was simply swinging too hard. If I tone back the swing a little, I am catching it clean and hitting great drives. However, now I feel like if I want to give a little more umph I can't. If I swing too hard, it feels like I am leaving the club open a little at impact giving me a slice. If I make the same swing, but a little slower, it causes a beautiful drive. I went from a S flex to a S flex, but I know the shafts are not equal. Do any of you guys experience this with the new drivers?? What do you do different with your swing if you want just a little more yardage??
  9. I only have one that CAN'T be broken. When using an iron off the tee, I ALWAYS use a broken tee that someone else left behind. Doesn't matter how broken, what color, what's on it. I sometimes have to look around the tee box for one, if it has recently been cleaned up.
  10. I hit this one quite a few times in a cage and it felt good. I get to the course and I can't quite find the consistent sweet spot......and this thing is massive compared to my old TM. Wasn't sure if it was a normal process. I don't change equipment alot. We'll see, thanks for the comments. Anyone else?
  11. I just bought a new Callaway Diablo Neutral 9deg to replace my old Taylor Made 360 ti. Obviously there is not a lot incommon with these two drivers. However, I am finding it difficult to hit the Diablo as consistent as my TM. I'm sure familiarity comes into play to a certain extent, but I was curious if anyone else had experienced a transition when buying new clubs. I am going to just play through it, after already seeing improvements from when I first got it. When I do hit it solid.......oh man!!!! What have you experienced??
