  1. I agree you can not go wrong from the starting position, but it sure as heck can lead you down the wrong road. I don't buy into not making changes. (excuse the comment if you were specifically referring to this particular situation and not all golfers (beginners - whatever level). The posture i have now versus what i had back then is what made me a better golfer. You're much better than I, but i disagree.
  2. Yes, you're coming down steep. On the way down, the shaft bisects your shoulder, it should be on the same line as your right arm. Check out all the pros, their shafts on the way down mirror their right arm. It'll help with your pulling. Just feel like you're swinging out to right field. THat helped me get flatten out my downswing.
  3. I can concur. DO NOT FLIP. Requires too much timing every single time and will lead to inconsistency. I use the putter stroke, body aimed slightly left (right handed golfer) and weight on my front foot.
  4. like others have said, play it like a par 5. Just make sure your 3rd shot is a chip or pitch you put close and one putt. You don't always have to make par, many times bogey is a great score for the whole. If you try and push it, you could end up with a bigger number. You seem to have quite a large gap between 3 wood and driver.
  5. Didn't they use like an iron byron to test the launch angles and it yielded the most yardages on a 5degree attack angle? It's kind of like saying when you come in to out, you hit the ball further than down the target line and out to in.
  6. Yeah unfortunately, these theory is that you hit 89 perfect shots. Even if 115 is gap wedge, i sure as heck can't hit 89 good shots in a row! If i could, i would just use the same swing, just different clubs and shoot an amazing round and a half. hahaha. The theory sounds good, but for some of us, like me, who drives great, 220 - 260 on the fairway most of the time, but it's the approach shot that usually kills me.
  7. Just setup the ball near the heel/hosel. That's what i did. hahaha. Center contact everytime. Too bad it didn't cure hitting 6 inches behind the ball :(
  8. I watched the video and yeah his head moves, but the instructor didn't say it's cool to move (unless i missed it), in fact kept on saying he's dipping his head. He was helping the guy get the shoulder to the right thigh, probably just trying to focus on weight shift and then work on keeping the head still once that's done. I didn't see anything ridiculous. He's still practicing a new move. I'm curious what else is so wrong with these instructions. I'm considering edwin watts cause it's cheaper than golftec, so i hope you humor my curiosity.
  9. Again what's wrong with what they are teaching? they're using the laser to follow a one plane swing. What's so wrong with the videos?
  10. there are a lot of "wow that's just wrong" but i haven't read any posts outlining what's wrong. The old lady had a horrible swing, but her plane was better after the laser. I went for a swing analysis, i was taking it too far inside and crossing the line, made me aware of my swing plane, but from the videos, could you outline what's wrong with it instead of just saying that it was horrible. I'd like to know the flaws of the laser system since i'm searching for instructors and edwin watts is fairly inexpesive. Golftec is too expensive.
  11. I had one of those, hit my iron so crisp and the best i ever have at the range by keeping my spine angle and swinging around it. Unfortunately, the next time i went to the range... i was hitting fat shot after fat shot. Such is golf. But i hope yours stuck.
  12. the old school e6+ is on sale for 15 bucks a dozen. Great ball, at least when I play them. The ProVs will reduce your distance off irons if you swing slower (driver
  13. I've had the same problems, though my irons are longer than you, my driver is 210-230. A lot of reasons, without video, no way to tell, but i'll give you something i've been told cause i am having the same struggles keeping weight on the right side (right handed) causing deloft in the club at impact -- shifting weight to left side and rotating arms to have logo of left hand glove point to target to deloft the club My ball striking has gotten really decent, but i just started working on this at the range yesterday. regular backswing, driver the hips and rotate the hips hard and keep the arms relax and passive. It's almost like i'm rotating with my hips and letting my arms go where they may, I have to say i hit my 8iron carry about 5-6 yards further, albiet, not consistent at all! hope that helps.
  14. Do that! It will definitely speed up your play and also help you practice situations. My friend did this for me when i started and he was also pretty liberal with the drop rule since i lost a lot of balls. I can beat him most of the time now
  15. strange, with a slice, that typically comes from an open clubface and rotating your grip to the left would be a weaker grip which would promote an open clubface. But whatever works for you. Maybe rotating to the left causes you to mentally do something that closes back the club face. Good luck and hit em straight.
