  1. Well it's pretty simple. The course is closed for the day to anyone not playing in the tournament so you aren't going to slow any golfers down other than the 2 teams behind you. Im not saying this is how all scramble tournaments work but like ive said i've played in a bunch and have been paired with another team in every one.
  2. I have played in 100 or more scrambles. I have never played in scramble where you aren't paired with another foursome that is playing against you so it is almost impossible to cheat. I am interested to know if the scrambles you guys play in let you play in a group by yourselves. If they do they are obviously not very smart. And why would you not buy a mulligan if it is an option? A $5 mulligan might be the difference between winning a few hundred dollars or winning nothing.
  3. That sounds like a personal question to me :)
  4. I was golfing yesterday with 3 friends and one of the guys was slicing big time. I told him to close his stance. And right away in his practice swing you could see a difference on his swing path. He smoked his drive right down the middle of the fairway.
  5. They were probably spraying a pesticide or something on the green. The white foam is used as a marker so he doesn't overlap too much. That is my guess anyway, I've never seen it used on a golf course but that is what we use on the farm.
  6. It is casual water. No penalty
  7. I have been plagued with a snap hook many times. I have found that using a weaker grip(rolling my hands to the left) and slowing my swing down help out. If it still doesn't work I will play the ball back in my stance a little bit. Right or wrong things to do i don't know, just a few things that have worked for me in the past.
  8. I got 3 dozen used pro v1's for $22/dozen on ebay the other day. AAAA quality. The company was knetgolf.com. Balls were in great shape and didn't have to pay the ridiculous price of $48/dozen or whatever they are now.
  9. Yes I used one for 2 years. Replaced it last year with a blade style putter. I personally did not like it because it didn't fit my putting style.
  10. I have a gps but play with guy that uses a rangefinder. My gps is always within 5 yards of his distances. The gps is much easier to use but the rangefinders are nice to have because you can range sandtraps, water, and other hazards. I am a hunter and recently bought a nikon rangefinder . I have taken it out to the course once and found it difficult to get it to focus on the pin especially if there is something right behind the green, then it will tell me the distance to that tree or whatever it may be instead of the pin.
  11. That's because Tiger swings at about 80% on most of his iron shots for control. If he wanted he could hit a 6 iron 220 yards. Most Amaturs swing almost nearly as hard as they can.
  12. You act like it's impossibe for someone to hit a 7 iron 205. Just cause you can't doesn't mean its not possible. Why would the guy be lying?

  14. Why do you want the smallest head available? The bigger the better.
