Wordle 575 3/6 ⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️ 🟩⬛️⬛️🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 My wife and I usually play every morning. It’s a good way to wake up your mind in the morning along with a cup of coffee. Impressive. I’ve only gotten it on the second try one time. And it was a complete guess.

At least you have playing opportunities this time of year. I have 12”+ of snow outside my front door.
-
I have plenty of those type projects also. I just changed the ball joints on my town truck a couple weeks ago.
-
Nah. It’s all about what you want/have the time to do. I grew up working for my grandpa’s carpentry business so I’ve done a lot of this work. Also, I am a professor at the local college and only teach two days a week so I have lots of free time for stuff like this.

Putting the finishing pieces in place. Here’s a shot of the shower I just finished the tile in. This is my kids’ bathroom.

I didn’t even waste my time on the first Avatar. I have zero desire to watch either of them.

Wind River is a movie I could watch over and over. The storyline and the brutality of the Wyoming winters and landscape. We have a house south of Jackson, WY and the views in that movie always take me back when we are sitting in Nevada. Definitely an eagle in my book.

Everyone in our house has a pair of slippers that we wear around the house. Personally, I have sensitive feet and the smallest rock will send me stumbling into the wall. I grew up with taking my shoes off at the door, so the habit has followed me.

In short, if your wife talks you into taking on this task, I know how you feel. But, in all seriousness, it is that time of year where I tend to take on my backlog of indoor home improvement projects. I've been putting this one off for a couple of years, but here I am. With copious amounts of snow on the ground since mid-November, this seemed like a great time filler through the slow months. I started last Thursday, and now have the tile for the shower/bath to complete, set the toilet, and install the new trim. It has been a process for sure, but the wife and kids will be happy once it's finished. I'll be happy once it's finished as well. Anyone else tackling any home improvement projects in the off (or somewhat off depending on your location) season?

I was listening to the Fore Play podcast this morning and they made mention that Augusta takes it upon themselves to send out the invitations based on their own information, thus circumventing (willingly) the PGA system, and I would guess, player information. Is there any truth to that?

Congratulations!! I am still on the hunt for my first ace.

For the Tahoe or the wife?? Haha

@Pretzel that’s a great tip on the epoxy. I do quite a few projects and home DIY things so I have a propane torch and heat gun for removal. I’ll be trying to reuse the original adapter if possible just for the experience of removing and installing. @Darkfrog I actually watched videos by both of those guys you mentioned just yesterday. Both are very informative. I’ve done grips several times and I’m sure this process isn’t much more difficult.

Ah gotcha. Sorry, I misinterpreted your intent. No offense meant. Thanks for the insight as I am new to this side of the game. To further answer your question, it will mostly be used as a backup for me. Most people that visit me to play golf already have their own clubs.
-
As you noted in the quote of my original post, this driver will be put into a backup role and for others to use. Also, in the two posts directly above yours, we were discussing this exact thing. I will wait until my fitting to make sure I purchase the appropriate shaft for this driver. I honestly hadn’t thought about it until this morning; it didn’t even register in my thought process.
-
It’s funny you mention this at this specific moment…. About 5 minutes ago I was having the same exact thought as I stared out my window at about 20” of snow. I haven’t had a need to get the driver fixed, more of a want and a back burner type project. There really is no rush… I suppose I can spend some time doing research and learning up until I have my fitting.
-
Thank you all for the input. I figured the shaft was a “made for the masses” type shaft, but I don’t have any major complaints about it, so I figure I’ll stick with what’s working. I have been golfing for a long time but have never ventured into the club repair/maintenance side of things. As I play more, and learn more, the more I enjoy tinkering and tweaking things on my own, within my capabilities. I’ll check out the links you all provided and come back for any questions or thoughts. Thanks again everyone.
-
You are correct. Adjustable hosel. I am going to do the repair myself. The broken shaft is a Project X HZRDUS, 55g, 6.0, Mid spin, and it says T800 (not sure what that number is). Any suggestions on shafts in that configuration? I like the HZRDUS, so I’m not opposed to staying with the same shaft.

We arrived home from a weekend of golf and family in the Carson City area (not recently) to find my driver in two pieces in the back of the wife’s Tahoe. Not quite sure how it happened, but now I get to replace the shaft. This doesn’t seem like too tough of a process, so I’m going to tackle this one on my own when I decide on a shaft. I’m open to shaft suggestions if you guys have any…. I’ll post my shaft specs when I get home. I should mention that this won’t be my primary driver. I’ll be getting fitted for new clubs within the next month or so, so this driver will be relegated to my backup.

87 today at Spring Creek Golf Course in Spring Creek, NV, par 71. 42 on the front and 45 on the back. I played a lot more conservative today keeping course management in mind. I hit my driver on three holes and hit it well, but this course can bite you very badly if you get greedy with the big stick, so I stayed conservative. I mostly hit 4 iron and 1 hybrid off the tees to keep the ball in the middle. My irons were working pretty well other than everything going left, straight left, dead pull. Most likely an alignment/aiming issue. 31 putts, so apparently my putting game was on today. I had no three putts and 5 one putts. I was able to get the ball close with my play around the greens to make it easier on myself. It seemed that if I was inside 8 feet, I was able to make that putt today. This made me very happy since I have been struggling with putting. I’ve been working on it, and it shows.

Report back on grip status after using compressed air instead of glue... I am happy to report that I played 2 complete rounds along with range sessions before the rounds and have experienced no slipping or twisting of the grips. I will definitely be using this method from now on. I especially like that I can play with thickness of the underwrap if needed and not have to ruin a grip to get a tailored fit.

My copy was waiting for me in the mailbox when I got home on Sunday. I have began reading it, and liking it already. We just received a fresh blanket of snow yesterday, so it looks like I'll be out in the shop swinging away on the practice mat for the time being. Can't wait to get more into the book!!
