  1. I don't live in Pittsburgh, but I've been there quite a few times.
  2. Whenever I mishit a driver it's always a big hook like 20 yards off the expected path. Now I know I have a closed clubface at the top of my backswing, but normally that's not a huge problem, and I can blast it straight to like 280 sometimes, but if I mishit it, it's going left for sure.
  3. It's a great club. Mine's the strong headed one though, 12.5. I hit it a good 240+roll when solidly struck.
  4. I received mine from RBG, and that's what I said as well. Of course, the only other 3W I've used is an old generic one that I'd guess was around 300cc.
  5. I normally hit my woods pretty high, which takes away any roll. But when I hit this well, I get around 220, and then the roll, it lowered my trajectory to an optimal.
  6. Are these good shafts? My 3W came with one as the stock stiff shaft. I thought about changing my 5W from the stock Callaway shaft and grip to a ProLaunch Red with a Winn grip. Just want to know what you guys think of them.
  7. If it's a good lie, I'd probably attempt to hit my 5H, if it's a bad one, I'd probably attempt the 3H. If it's just an average lie, not great, but not extremely bad, I'd probably still go with the 5H.
  8. If you've watched the In the Bag series on youtube, you'll see many pros take a hybrid and a 3 iron.
  9. Quick question about lag, you're supposed to have it on irons as well right?
  10. I agree with you, and that's coming from someone who considers himself a longish driver. I have only hit 300 once, but I get around 270 consistently. The thing is, I rarely ever practice my drives, because being able to hit a 5-6-7-8 iron consistently, with a distance I know is much more important to me. I've been working on my short game a lot lately, and had around 10 less putts than usually today.
  11. Never played that, I think I have a friend on the golf team who has, I'll ask him about them when I next see him. Also, if you buy the X '08 series, go to rockbottomgolf, because on 3balls, it's $130 used, and on rockbottomgolf it's $80 new.
  12. I think you should look at the Callaway Hyper X series. Very good, I hit my 5 wood around 210 pretty consistent ball flight. If I miss, it'll usually come off as a draw.
  13. I always play these a little short with my PW, and get it to run a little.
  14. No specific club I'm having problems with, I just always hit the ground before I hit the ball on any club. Any drills that'll help you with this?
  15. I spin the ball out of the fairway great, out of the rough, I always aim short, I can't ever hit out of the rough. Distance matters, but it doesn't matter if you can't do anything else right. A guy who hits 280 consistently, and can do everything else is always going to beat someone who hits 200 consistently, and can do everything else, as long as their "everything else" is about te same.
  16. When I think about it, the only thing I can think about is the wrist hinge.
  17. I messed up, that's waaay early. I meant on the follow through. That's probably waay late though.
  18. I hit most shots just as I want to when I don't pull my head and lift off the ball, causing tops, but that's only around 75% of the time. I'd like it to be close to 100% as possible. So, I need to get some tips as to what to focus on/when to pull my head. Should I lift my head up once my arms have stopped moving on the backswing or is that too late?

    The Hammer

Actually, most pros have clauses in their contracts that allows them to use any clubs they want. Most pros usually work with the club designers of the brand that sponsors them, that way they can have club they like.
  20. When you come back in your backswing, is the toe of the club supposed to point at the target? I've always had the back of the club facing the target, but I've noticed that the toe pointing allows me to get a lot more wrist break at impact. As in I snap through faster, and get the ball in the air faster.
  21. I'm honest, I rarely have success with it off the deck, but off the tee where I can't hit a 280 drive, I can use this knowing I can get it out there a good 235 240. I'd like to get a 15 or 16 degree club, either a 3 wood or a 1/2 hybrid, but haven't found any I find to be worth it.
  22. What's would be a difference in these? Anyone else play a strong three wood, or is it pretty much useless unless the course I'm playing is really long?
  23. Peyton Manning is the best QB in the last decade. To those of you saying that Tom is better because of his rings, think of Big Ben Roethlisberger, my personal favorite, he has two. Is he better then Peyton? No way.
  24. I'm a pretty long driver...normally around 280 or so, and I'm comfortable with chipping around the green, more so then my 180-200 irons, so whenever I can, I try to get close to the green. But even with my mentality, I don't plan on arguing, because I agree with you. The golfer should always do whatever feels right with him. If I like to crush the ball, and chip up on with a 1/2 swing, rather then hitting a 4 iron down the fairway, and then a good 7 iron on. Same outcome, doesn't matter.
  25. Even my 60* Watson gets those on the rare occasion that I hit it at the range. I don't suggest using your wedges at the range though, if your like me, or my local range, you won't get much feedback.
