  1. And that might be the catalyst I needed to pull the trigger on a set of X Prototypes!
  2. As the title says, when should one start looking at forged blades vs cavity back? I know I'm probably far away from this point, but I'd like to have a goal to strive towards to get a set of Callaway X prototypes. I know it will probably take years with my game!
  3. I've been doing 2 xL buckets a day for the past two weeks (about 250 balls). It's really starting to pay off! I'm hitting my 6-SW really well. Can't wait to get out this weekend and see how it's helped my game overall.
  4. Thanks for the info, guys. I'll head out tomorrow and work on the fractioned swings for different distances. Looking for that book on amazon right now, tim.
  5. Hi all, My bag currently has Callaway X18r PW and SW (not sure of * or bounce, 47 and 56 maybe??), and an X forged 64*. 09 bounce. I've been golfing or at the driving range daily for the past two weeks and see that there is way too much of a distance gap between my SW and the 64*. Anyone want to suggest which wedge I fill the gap with? Degree and bounce? I'd like to stay with the x forged chrome series to keep my matching set. Thanks. Brandon
  6. Anyone have any particular teachers/facilities around South Central Connecticut they would recommend I look into for lessons? I only work 4 days a week and would like to dedicate the other three to getting my golf game to an acceptable level where I can play better courses and not worry about holding everyone up/making an ass of myself. Thanks. Brandon
  7. I use a Callaway magnetic marker off my divot tool. I'd like to find something a bit more unique and fitting to me, though.
  8. Even though I only have played under a dozen rounds of golf, I find myself getting harder on myself every time i botch a shot I know I should've hit well and have hit well in the past and at the range. I play for one good shot/hole per round to keep my clubs off of ebay.
  9. I like my Callaway clubs. Hit numerous brands before buying these and really liked the way they felt and swung. Could all be null and void though, as I don't play very well and am just starting to develop a consistent, decent swing.
  10. I clean mine with a soft, damp cloth, scrape the groves clean, and then windex them to a nice shine. My equipment has to be spotless. Now if I could just get my game to be so spotless I'd be in good shape!
  11. Well, I'm ashamed to say a 105 on a par 60 today. Couldn't putt to save my life. 3-5 putts on ever hole. Need to work on my driver (slices a good bit from time to time). Irons were pretty well on.
  12. -club covers stay in the trunk when the clubs come out of the car -clubs are SPOTLESSLY clean -EVERYTHING is Callaway (everything in my life is matching brand) -all clothing is J.Crew (including hat and sunglasses) -must have pocketknife and divot tool in left pocket -must have 1 good shot/hole per day to keep all aforementioned golf equipment off eBay
  13. Hi all, Just started playing golf in May as a way to occupy my time when I'm not working as I'm done with school now. I work as an RN in cardiac ICU. I try to make it to the driving range two or so times a week to try to tame my swing, and try to get out to play two or three times a month. I'd ideally like to get out at least weekly to play if my work schedule allows. Hope to get some game improving pointers from here! Brandon

22, started playing this May (2009)
  15. I like the way the Callaway Forged Irons look. Very simply design. I'll be acquiring a set once my handicap is cut by about 75 percent! By then, God know's what we'll be playing golf with!
  16. Although this is my first season playing, I bought x18's and have been playing them for a few months, two -three times per month plus range time once or twice a week. I like them quite a bit. I played with a friend today and we decided to switch clubs (his x22's and my x18's) to see if we played differently. Honestly, I hit the ball the same, as did he. He has been playing 17 years versus my 1. And he's a 10 handicap versus my 40 or so.
  17. I'm a cardiac intensive care nurse. Fresh out of school as of May.
