as much as i disliked him when he played for the packers it was still enjoyable watching him play, it would be especially painful when he would have remarkable throws/plays against the vikes. but never the less still exciting...

i count everything when i play by myself so i can get an accurate scoring average for myself. if there is congestion on the course, then i will hit the ball that counts, and then hit an extra ball or two from different lies/locations just for practice and to kill time. i just pick them up and continue playing my original ball. i use golfshot to keep track of my score and mark on my scorecard with a permanent marker where each shot goes so i can retrace them in case i forget what shot i am on.

ya never know, that could happen, but i doubt it.... who knows maybe that ankle isn't as bad as everyone thinks, or better yet not an issue at all...as much as everyone wishes he would disappear forever i have a feeling he will put on a show tonight, question is which show will it be.... we shall soon see...

i do choke up on my club when i want to hit shorter shots not just with full shots, but 3/4 and 1/2 swings as well as pelz recommends in his 3x4 system to give you 24 potential shots inside 100 yards. i am just trying to see if anyone else has done it and the results they have seen by have the half an inch gap between your wedges. does any club designer recommend the shaft lengths that Dave Pelz suggested in his book?

i think if you start them off young as righty's they will get comforatble and never think about going lefty. when i was young i picked up being left handed because my dad was left handed and that was the only set of clubs we had for a long time so during the summer when i was home and he was at work i would go down to the local park and practice. i think if he was right handed that would of possibly made me right handed, who knows. i guess one good thing is i never have to worry about people wanting to demo all my gear with their crappy swings!!! :) i have a friend that can golf both right and left handed. pretty amazing to watch him grab either one and still have a pure swing.

i have been reading Dave Pelz short game bible book and he mentions in there: Quote from Pelz Short Game bible: "As you become more proficient with the finesse system, you'll want your 12 shots to provide the most even coverage over 100 yards. You might not find your standard pitching and sand wedges up to the task. A big reason for this could be the length of their shafts. the Sand wedge should be half an inch shorter than the Pitching wedge; the L (Lofted) wedge should be half an inch shorter than the sand wedge. If you add a fourth (X) wedge, as i strongly recommend, that should be half an inch shorter still. Furthermore, the heads of each wedge should get progressively heavier as the clubs get shorter and more lofted, and the lie should be slightly more upright as you move closer and closer to the ball." i dont have an XW but i do have a GW so does that mean that the GW should be half an inch shorter than the PW, the SW half an inch shorter than the GW, and the LW half an inch shorter than the SW? i have been fitted for my irons earlier this year and it was determined that my shaft length is a standard length, but my irons needed the lie adjusted +2 upright. here are my wedges and current shaft lengths (all wedges have stock shafts in them True Temper Dynamic Gold, except for the Mizuno has a project X 5.5) mizuno mp-68 35.50 (lie adjusted +2 upright) vokey SM 52.08 35.50 vokey SM 56.11 35.25 vokey SM 60.07 35.00 i am trying to figure out if i should shorten my shafts as Pelz described in his book if i need to get the lie adjusted +2 upright (i still need to hit off of a lie board to determine if i need +2). if i shorten them than from what i can see my PW would be 35.50 still, my 52 would be 35.00, my 56 would be 34.50 and my 60 would be 34.00. has anyone else done this before? i have read that by shortening the shaft your accuracy can improve, which is definitely something i want in my short game. i am looking at changing my shafts in the vokey's to Project X shafts and re gripping as well as lie adjusted (if needed) so any help would be greatly appreciated.

i hear ya man, it does suck. i was at one of our local pro shops yesterday because we were waiting to see if it would stop raining so we could resume our round (nope that didnt happen) and while we were in the proshop we looked at all the equipment. i found 0 gloves, 0 irons and 0 drivers and fairway woods for lefties. i did find 1 odyessy putter in there. Does this trend of small lefty stock carry over to demo days/fitting vans as well, or do they recognize that there are still lefties out there that want to test all this equipment they have on the market nowadays? i was also curious, where do all you fellow lefties out there purchase your gear if you can't find it in your local store?

Best iPhone Golf GPS App?
golfnuub replied to Tenacious Deek's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
+1 for golfshot Use it on my 3GS. Prior to upgrading the OS to version 4 I was able to finish a round and still have juice left. Not anymore. Now I miss the last couple holes due to a dead battery. The three things that kill battery life for me: 3G (biggest battery sucker) Corp email pushed to Phone Gps Debating whether to buy a mophie battery pack. I have read a lot of mixed reviews about it's longevity/durability plus other issues. Guess I could always try and take my iPad out to the course since my iPhone apps sync to my iPad too so I have golfshot on their as well. I also downloaded the golfplan app. It has got some good tips to use and the videos are short and easy to follow. -
would still recommend the lessons from a pga pro regardless of the breaking/not breaking clubs anymore.
-
if you are breaking clubs at the range then i would buy some used clubs and get some lessons from a PGA pro in your area. http://www.pga.com/golf-instruction/find-instructor here are some sites that have used clubs: http://www.golfgalaxy.com/galaxy/ http://www.golfsmith.com/

par 5 dogleg left. made it to the multi terrace green in four. approach shot didnt go far enough past the terrace so it rolled back to the bottom for a 20 footer for par that broke left to right. i gave it a good wap to get it onto to the top terrace, speed was right as it approached the cup it slowed down. when it got right next to the cups edge it stopped for a second and the plink fell in for a par. was pretty fun shot to make.

How do they compare to pro V1's that I see you play based on your signature?

Is there any real difference good or bad between a 2008 NXT Tour ball and the 2010 NXT Tour? i was going to give that ball a try and buy some from lostgolfballs.com. initially i was going to get the 08 balls in a 12 pack and if i liked them then i would buy the 50 pack they have available. thanks

what i hate is family guy at the driving range!!!! I was at a course i go to regularly last week and started working on my short game at a different place on the property but kept hearing kids screaming and people carrying on a conversation. i couldn't figure out where in the hell it was coming from and since the range has townhomes down the left side i just assumed it was coming from there. eventually i walked over to the range, and start working on my swing with my irons all of a sudden i hear kids screeching/crying, and parents talking away. i turn around and what do i see.... good ol dad turned a day at the range into a family outing with the wife, newborn baby, 2 toddlers, and from what it appeared some grand parents... then i had two more guys closer to me one of them brought clubs, the other did not. all they did was talked for about an hour about anything and everything, with the occasional swing of course to validate there reason for being there ... i was about ready to do the Tiger toss with my clubs right at all of them! talk about distracting, too bad i forgot my headphones to drown them out with a little music from pandora on my iphone.

they made hit off the board when i did my iron club fitting. i just didnt know if i needed to go through the process again for the wedges.
-
that makes sense. i guess my follow up question to this is for my wedges. currently they have stock shafts and grips in them. i have read that you should try and keep your irons and wedges with the same shafts. so i have been reading how some people have been using the rifle spinner wedge shafts http://www.golfsmith.com/browse.php?...ll&lcode;=expps but other people have recommended that you go with in my case a project x shaft for the wedges to keep it the same as my irons, can anyone shed some light on this? thanks for the help i went to Golftec in Hollywood, was $99 and overall it was a good experience. got to use the mizuno shaft optimizer during my club fitting which was pretty cool. they were very friendly and knowledgable, let me come back and keep trying different heads and shafts too see which one worked the best for me and my swing. tourspoon, i was curious who your club fitter was, could you PM your guy as well.
-
I hope this isn't too weird of a question, but i just got fitted for the first time a few weeks ago and traded in my old set of irons for a new set.. it was determined that for my irons i needed the lie adjusted 2 deg upright. my question is do i need to get my existing woods, and wedges adjusted with a 2 deg lie adjustment as well?

i use these same tees and i couldnt be happier with them. i take two out of the package to start each round and i typically end with both going back into the bag after 18 holes unless i forget to pick them up after my tee shots.

Man where are all the hot women???? Either they all take bad photos or these broads are hidious IMO I guess just cause they make all that money doesn't mean the hot chics will come. Maybe they got the hot ones stationed in each city they play in. That way they can switch courses and play the front and back nine in their hotel room!!!! :)

"The Modern Golf Swing DVD Set" by David Leadbetter
golfnuub replied to iacas's topic in Reading Room
so i take it you wouldn't recommend this dvd set?????? hahaha i was wondering how does this compare to his older instructional: david leadbetter - the swing? is it nothing more than an updated video with the same tips/advice and stretched out from a one hour dvd to a 5 hour dvd set? i know it comes with some software that you can use to analyze your swing (if you have a video camera to record yourself that is) -
found this on EA sports website click the tiger 10 wii motion plus link to watch the video. definitely looks more enjoyable than playing it on a PS3 or Xbox 360: http://www.ea.com/genre/sports-games what are you thoughts??? i dont have a wii or any game console for that matter but this def. has me debating whether i should go buy a wii just for this game.
