  1. I say just get used to it. Work on your swing and see how you like it then. There is always gonna be something bigger and better coming out, so I would say just play it. Go to the range and hit a bucket with it. It takes more than just 1 round to get adjusted to a new club.
  2. Well, that depends. Do you have trouble hitting your 3 iron? If not, then don't bother. You'll have more accuracy with an iron than a hybrid.
  3. I hate people who think their clubs automatically make them good. I was behind a foursome today on the first tee. Now, I saw more Taylormade and Callaway on the back of that cart then if I walked right into a Dick's Sporting Goods. So, I'm waiting and watching, and see three duffers/worm burners, and 1 good shot maybe 170 yards. I step up, smoke it 270 straight as an arrow dwon the fairway. I mean I've got some good clubs, but not my life savings worth, and I do pretty decent. I was on fire today, my shortest drive was around 250 and I din't hit one OB drive and no mulligans.
  4. Ya. Their tires pretty much suck, but their golf balls are a dream lol. Our car had b stone tires and they sucked. No durability at all lol.
  5. ooh that's a great I'm definitely gonna try that technique next time lol. I'll use the end of my club to bury it so deep they can't get it out. Lol hopefully next time it's a pro v1.
  6. Yeah I'm debating either hitting it back next time or just throwing it in my bag and keep on going like nothing happened. I like the 1st better, but the latter is more subtle. And it would be fun to see one of those bastards looking so hard for their ball that went right down the middle lol.
  7. Okay so me and my dad go golfing 1 to 3 times a week. Almost every time we're out (or anytime I golf with anyone else, for that matter), some a$$h*le decides to drive when I'm hitting my 2nd shot. I've already had 2 come within 2 feet of me in the past month, and of course, nobody yells fore. So, my question is, next time this happens, where they drive, clearly see me, and don't yell fore, should I tee the ball up and hit it back at them? I'm really getting tired of this to be honest. Anyone ever do this before?
  8. They're desinged to replace your long irons, usually 2 3 and 4, sometimes up to 5. If you are looking at getting hybrids, they're great if you struggle with the longer irons. However, if you are a good long iron hitter, like I am, you'll hit straighter and farther with regular irons.
  9. Thanks for the comment. I almost bought the e6+ when I was still slicing bad, but instead I got the e7+ and worked on my swing a tiny bit and now I rarely even fade.
  10. Okay, so by now everyone nows what Bridgestone Golf is doing with their e+ series of golf balls. That is, providing us with a selection of balls to meet all of our specific needs. So, me and iwalk18 decided to team up and post a big review of all 3 balls. He wrote the e5+ and e6+ reviews, and I wrote the e7+ review. So, here it is. e5+ review: Feel: The e5+ has a soft yet responsive feel. I would not say it is exactly like a ProV1, but its in the general neighborhood. Spin: The big draw of the e5+ for me is the cover. An affordable urethane covered ball is really appealing to the frugal golfer. While this ball provides more spin than any other ball I've tried in this price range, it is not in the same realm as the other premium Bridgestone balls, or ProV1s. I found that around the green this ball rolls out at a couple feet more than premium balls I tested it against. It also wouldn't check as well for me, but that's not really my thing. The ball flight is predictably high, and shots hold greens well. Distance: Distance was reasonably good with the e5+, but not excellent. The high ball flight probably robbed a few yards from my shots. Putting: Feel with the putter may be a bit soft for some. With a soft insert putter it almost certainly will be. Conclusion: I will continue to play this ball. Its an affordable urethane covered ball which has a nice feel and spin. It does fall short of premium balls, but that's obviously to be expected. In my opinion, this ball is best suited to the long hitting player looking for a bit more spin and holding power in an affordable ball. e6+ review Feel: The e6+ has a firm feel and provides crisp feedback. However, the feel is not nearly as harsh as your average distance golf ball. Spin: The e6+ is packaged as a lower spinning ball, which produces straighter shots. I still found my shots would shape, but I did have the feeling that my bad swings resulted in less of a hook/slice. Trajectory was predictably lower than I'm used to. Holding power was a bit of a problem. On the soft greens I play, I generally spin the ball back a few feet with a high lofted iron and a well struck shot. however, the e6+ consistently released a few feet forward. On firmer greens, i could see this being a real problem. Short game performance was about what you would expect from a surlyn covered ball. Pitch shots did not "check" and stop, but didn't run forever either. Distance: This was the area where the e6+ really impressed me. I only played 9 holes, and I hit some tee shots to places I've never even come close to before. I hit the single longest (flat, no wind, sealevel) drive I've ever hit with this ball. I would say that this ball was at least a club longer than the e5+ with my irons. Putting: I thought this ball putted very well. Solid feel and a nice click off a steel give good feedback. Conclusion: I was actually very impressed with this ball. I don't think it is for me, but it performed very well in some areas which could really help some players. If i were looking for a distance ball, or a ball that had a lower trajectory and lower spin, this would absolutely be my choice. e7+ review: Feel: This ball is if I'm not mistaken 70 compression. It has a really nice feel off the club face with any club. Spin: This ball seems to be maybe a very tiny bit more forgiving in terms of sidespin than my other main ball, slazenger feels. Not much, it will definitely still slice or hook if you battle one, but I don't have those problems. It has checked nicely on all my pitch shots and flops are good too if you got the game, but I don't have those shots down pat yet. Also doesnt help that I don't have a lob wedge. Distance: This ball goes about the same distance as the slazengers I also use, but it seems easier to keep consistent and more accurate. Putting: This ball puts great, much better feel than other balls I've played. Durability: This ball is pretty durable, haven't gotten any scuffs at all from clubs, and the only one that got scuffed hit about 7 cart paths before I lost it in the woods, but it was still playable when I lost it. Definitely a long lasting ball provided you keep it out of the woods and water. Conclusion: I definitely made a great choice with this ball, and I will continue to play these and raw distance feels from now on. The slazengers are definitely still my go-to ball for holes when I'm wary of hazards or having a bad day. But, botoom line, these do exactly what they're meant to do, lower your ball flight a tad bit. I mean, if you absolutely just balloon the ball, these won't work any better for you. But if you think you may be losing a few yards off the tee, try these out. They're great. So, there you have it. If you want to know anything else about these, pm iwalk18 about the e5+ and e6+, and shoot me a pm if you've got any questions regarding the e7+. Also feel free to leave comments on the reviews as well. Hope this helps, mhodar13
  11. I carry: 1. Driver 2. 3 wood 3. 5 wood 4. 3 iron 5. 4 iron 6. 5 iron 7. 6 iron 8. 7 iron 9. 8 iron 10. 9 iron 11. Pitching wedge 12. Sand Wedge 13. Empty 14. Putter I left 13 as empty because I hope to add a lob wedge soon after my birthday. I also want to eventually upgrade my putter and irons.
  12. I love the e7+s I'm playing right now. They're not cheap though. Compared to pro v1s yeah, but generally no, since you can get 3 times as many of some other brands for less than the price of 1 dozen b stones. But, I love em and hope to buy a bunch more after my birthday. They're pretty durable, only scuffed one I've gotten hit at least 3 cart paths, and was still fairly playable. I always use cheaper balls like slazengers for holes where water is in play left or right. If the water is right in front of the tee box, then I use good balls, cuz if I'm playing that bad I should just go home lol.
  13. I have an 07 burner stiff 9.5 and love it. I'll warn you it isn't the club to get if you're picky about looks. The paint chips and scratches really easily. But it is a great club, I've hit it pretty damn close to 300 yards before with it.
  14. I saw a video about this and the guy says to line your ball logo straight, and to hit a fade aim two dimples left of the logo, and for a draw, aim 2 dimples right of the logo. I could do it with practice plastic balls in the backyard, but haven't had a need to do it yet on the course.
  15. If they don't replace it, don't even worry about it. Remember, it's a golf club, and it's gonna get scratches and chips. I thought I had it bad when I got a pinhead sized chip in the paint on my burner. Then, days after perfectly touching up the chip, I get a skymark. I just said whatever and touched it up with black paint. At that point, I wasn't even upset because I finally realized that things like that are inevitable. As long as the club still works exactly as good, I just roll with it. No dents, no problems.

  17. I would say to go with the regular one. IMO the draw version looks weird at address. Also, the regular is I believe 2 degrees draw biased to begin with.
  18. Right now I'm just using any 3-1/4 inch wood tees as well as the white ones with the blue stripe to show hw high to tee it up. Maybe next time I'll get the zero friction ones if they don't break. A good tip I use at the range is to cut off 1 long tee so there's only like 1/8 inch in the ground each shot, and you won't keep breaking your good tees at the range.
  19. Well, I'd say to go with the 3 wood unless you don't carry a 3 iron or 3 hybrid. But, I have only 3 and 5 woods, so I can't offer any advice on a 4. But like someone else mentioned, you want your clubs to be spaced out evenly in terms of distance.
  20. Well, that was moreso my point. I don't hit any absolutely lost shots at all anymore. And my driving game is ood, it's my short iron game that kills me. A lot of times i'll score higher on a par 3 than on a par 5 and that's no joke. But, I am slowly but surely working at it.
  21. That was my opinion. It says nothing about my skill when the club is doing all of the work. My swing isn't flawed per say, it's more so my habit of pulling up that really kills me.
  22. Sorry toddzilla, didn't even see your question. No, I haven't played at sweetbriar. Maybe one of these days I'll get out there though.
  23. Hmm. I'm not sure what I want at all yet, so we'll see if I've improved any when I actually have the money to get them.
  24. Man, I hope not. Oh well, if they are, I'll get something else. I'm sure I'll be able to find them on ebay then.
  25. Okay sounds like a plan to me. i'll write the e7+ review.
