    Fantasy Football

I'll play. I'm not a big Yahoo fan but invariably I'll be in at least one Yahoo league every year so no biggie.
  2. I guess I'm a "digger" but mats don't help my shots at all. On the course or at a grass range (or even those mats that have longer blades of fake "grass") I can get some good practice in, but the pool table type mats are useless to me, I can't hit anything.
  3. You could just buy a set for college. Check out Craig's List or some local Goodwill/Salvation Army stores. I found a set of 3-PW, SW of Ben Hogan Edge GS irons at Goodwill in decent condition, the whole set was about $45. I realize sometimes in college $45 is a lot but it's a one-time cost.
  4. You can't objectively argue about a subjective topic like "appropriate golf attire". The socially accepted norm is that non-denim, well-fitting (meaning not daisy dukes and not sagging down below your butt cheeks) shorts are ok to wear on most golf courses, with a bit of variance from course to course. Anything beyond that is opinion, and trying to prove your opinion to a bunch of people who are obviously not going to agree with you, while insulting them, is trollish behavior. edit: back on-topic, there's been too much humidity this summer in Indiana to wear pants. This summer in general has just been too hot.
  5. Carwin showed Lesnar is definitely beatable. The problem is Carwin was gassed after one round, he took Lesnar down but couldn't finish and used too much energy trying to end it early. Credit Lesnar for taking the hits and coming back. For a guy of his size Lesnar's athleticism is pretty incredible. His stand-up is not very good. If he failed to take down a striker I think he would lose. But it's unlikely he'd fail before mauling the other guy to the ground.
  6. I tried to go to a PIAS this weekend but they were gone! Out of business. :(
  7. Happy to see Alvaro Quiros shoot a low score.
  8. Hey dude, if you want another FT-5, this weekend would be the time - GolfEtail has it for $70. Use the coupon code BRIT2010. You'd still have $350ish to put toward irons.
  9. Glad to see Rory battle back some to get to -4. Oosthuizen doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
  10. If he does there will be a lot of "yeah buts" to go along with it. As in "he won, yeah, but if he hadn't lucked out with the early tee time he wouldn't have," etc.

    Rory!

I feel bad for him and Ryan Moore and a few others. It must be very frustrating to do so well yesterday only to completely destroy all your hard work the next day. Stupid weather.
  12. Ryan Moore seriously blew up today. I have it recording so I didn't see what happened. I assume the weather messed him up. +12 for the day!
  13. I found a nifty Mizuno putter at PIAS for $10. It was only in fair condition though. Nothing like your deal, congrats.
  14. It was funnier in my head than it apparently is on a PC screen. I agree it is quite a name. 11 syllables!
  15. Regardless of whether or not you have a point, you're a 50 year old man insulting some kid's mother whom you've never met, on the internet, in a forum where the kid asked for advice, not a rant from a grouchy old ***hole. You're ridiculous.
  16. L.T. Oosthuizen
  17. So OP what's your next move? The funny thing is you could probably buy back your set in the same condition on CAllaway Preowned for less than what you sold it for.
  18. Wow, someone's a little full of himself.
  19. I figured. The C Grooves on the Yes kind of lift the ball first. According to this the standard for all Yes! putters is 2.5*
  20. 2.5*. Seems pretty strong compared to most.
  21. Praying. Sent you a PM too.
  22. I went golfing once with my wife, several years ago, and we just argued the whole time. We're very competitive people and, especially at the time, we're very bad at golf, so it was not a good idea.
  23. What are you asking?
  24. I really should do that more. Most of my chips like that with a 7 or 8 iron (a tip I read here) work out fairly well, and it's idiot proof. I am being stupid chasing after the perfect roll-up to the hole, I know. At my level I should just try to get on the green and two putt.
  25. FYI on the split cavities there was another thread talking about them a week or so ago. Apparently the blades are actually more forgiving than the split cavities. Shanks-a-Million can explain more, or you can do a search.
