  1. I think it comes from the type of person that can be good. For other sports like football, basketball, baseball, soccer, etc. you have to be young (20s or early 30s) and athletic to be considered a top player. In golf you have top competitors like Kenny Perry.
  2. 6'2, 240ish lbs. (but coming down fast!) XL is where I'm at right now. Sometimes that is too big (surprisingly), sometimes it's fine. I can wear a large if I want to look like Phil Mickelson. I would like to get back to my college weight of ~200 lbs. I wore L and occasionally M, it was great. I'm getting there... Also, size 12 shoe. I'm very glad for that. My dad has a size 13 (despite being under 6'1) and has a terrible time finding shoes.
  3. You sound very emotional about this, do you hold it against athletes that they make so much money? Doesn't seem worth it to me, but you raise some interesting points. You can't compare a job in the NFL to my job or your job the way you're trying to. It's not a direct comparison. There are thousands of people in the US who can do my job. There are thousands of people who can probably do your job, whatever that is. There are not thousands of people who can do what guys like Haynesworth do. At best, there are dozens. That is why people like you and me have resumes and apply for jobs, and billionaires seek out throw ridiculous amounts of money at guys like Haynesworth in an attempt to convince him to come play for this or that team. It's not the same thing. Pro sports is not the only situation like this. When a large company is trying to land a top executive, they'll bend over backwards to bring him/her in and make changes to make the person feel comfortable. If the situation changes, like a new board chairman, CEO, etc, the executive will often fight it (like Haynesworth is doing) or leave to get paid at a competing business (which Haynesworth can't do because he has a contract). At that level, you can do that because you are not easily replaced. If I remember correctly, AH tried the trade route early on and instead Washington paid him $21M and said publically he wouldn't have to play NT (which they appear to be going back on, which is stupid because AH is not a nose tackle). What was Haynesworth going to say? "No, don't give me $21M"? Would you? I understand not liking Haynesworth, but he is hardly the first athlete to do this and will not be the last. He is catching more flak for it because he is an unlikable diva. But I don't see the distinction you see between his situation and Chris Johnsons. CJ signed a contract, fair and square, like AH did. His "job situation" didn't even change like Haynesworth's did. He's on the same team, running behind the same line, same two guys handing off to him, etc. I'm not sure what this nonsense is about players being called warriors. That has nothing to do with anything that's being discussed, you're just freaking out. It doesn't matter if you could find 20 people who would give an arm or a leg or their firstborn to get $100M, and it doesn't matter if construction workers tax their bodies for less money. The NFL doesn't want any of them, because they wouldn't make it through one play in an NFL game. The guys who can have leverage. Not much, but some. If you actually read my post, you would know that I'm not making any excuses for AH specifically. In fact I did the opposite. I think he is out of line, but I also think the core of his complaint is legit. Should he go about it differently, sure. But, you said he was paid x amount of money to do what he is told, and that's really not how it works in pro sports. It's unrealistic and pretty naive.

    Tiger's Back

    I don't believe that number.
  5. That is quite a score, wow. I will have to try this whole turn-your-brain-off thing. Shouldn't be too hard for me
  6. You called that one.
  7. There are brands besides golf pride that offer multi-compound grips, like Avon, Royal, and Tacki Mac. Same concept, much cheaper, and some say they feel just as good. No idea if they last as long and I have not personally handled the non-GP grips.
  8. Yeah. It's one of the turnoffs and probably a reason I haven't ordered anything from them. I don't like looking at the hosel and seeing "Gigagolf" there. It looks goofy.
  9. I thought the term clone meant "knockoff", basically that they're trying to pass it off as a real Ping or Callaway or whatever. I dont' think GG does that.
  10. I didn't say it as an insult. They're pretty open about letting bigger companies do the R&D.; I'm not calling them clones or fakes or anything. If I get some new wedges I might go the GG route, I am not anti Gigagolf. But no one can deny they took their design cues on this and the previous P2 lines from the Ping G series.
  11. I think the whole P3 line looks sharp. It's obvious they ripped off Ping's G15 but they look good.
  12. For what it's worth there are some Amazon.com reviews on them - http://www.amazon.com/Callaway-X-24-...ews/B003PLQLNG
  13. Can't go based strictly on numbers. Some of the promises kept/broken are more important/have bigger impact than others. The one about no new taxation on families making less than $250K makes him look pretty bad.
  14. Yeah definitely not for me. But the OP is a 12.
  15. Solid deal then, congrats. There is currently a MP60/MP33 mixed set for >$200 that seems like a good deal, too.
  16. Yep. Because most politicians aren't interested in making positive changes, they're interested in getting elected.
  17. I don't consider myself a conservative but I agree staunch conservatives have no representation. Dems and Republicans fight a lot but there isn't that much of difference between them.
  18. New? That seems too good to be true.
  19. Here's a review - http://www.golf.com/golf/equipment/a...987281,00.html I haven't hit them. Initially I didn't like the look and could probably still do without the orange. But I do like the brushed nickel finish.
  20. Note I said lowER. :)
  21. I swing easy so I am fine with the Uniflex that came in mine. I was expecting R, but apparently Wilson made a change late in the Ci7's lifecycle away from the TX shaft to the Uniflex shaft. I only have a SW with the S-flex TX shaft, so it is kind of hard to gauge, but it doesn't feel that much different than the other shafts to me. My guess is they're kind of a "firm" flex, between reg and stiff. edit: I paid $199 for 4-GW around Christmas 09, and another $30ish for the SW. Definitely don't pay $300! They're nice clubs IMO but they're easily had for $200 new.
  22. TTIWWP. Which one is lower maintenance?
  23. Those of you into microbrews should check out 3 Floyds. http://www.3floyds.com/our-beers-2/ Ignore the weird hippie skull crap and just try to find a distributor near you. Easy to find in Indiana, and in the mid-west they're considered one of the best. If you cant' decide, try Robert the Bruce!
  24. If they agree on politics the show will be unwatchable. But if they get into some sort of political squabble while working on takeaway or something it might turn out kind of funny. Still, the show would probably be better with a different teacher and student.
  25. Where is the racism? Is it now racist to not want illegal immigrants to break the law in the US? Maybe you meant that worrying about the economy is racist, but that makes even less sense.
