  1. I like this thread, it lets me dream. I'd love to be good enough to hit a set of callaway prototype irons, but I have to stick to GI. And so, here's my dream set: Driver: Current (FT-IQ) FW: FT-i squareway wood (never tried one, looks interesting to a slicer like me) Irons: Adams a4OS hybrid and Callaway FT 4-PW, SW with i-brid 3 and 4 Wedge: Current (Callaway Forged+) Putter: Current (Cameron Detour)
  2. All my greatest putts seem to only save me par or bogey. I always leave easy birdies somehow. I drained one last week for at least 50, more like 70 feet. I was going to go back to measure (there was a group close behind) but it was a ways from the clubhouse.
  3. Student, I own/operate a restaurant open weekends and work in real-estate part time.
  4. Being a short-game kind of guy, I have never obsessed over distance. I hit an 11* driver because I like my shots to drop, I go for carry. I use my driver on long par 3's sometimes because I know if I swing at 70% and make good contact I can drop the ball straight down at a 180-yard pin. My drives are 225 each and every time, and I know that. Knowing your true consistent distance is FAR more valuable than being able to "hit it over 275, sometimes over 300" IMO. Although I wish I could hit my long irons better but that will come in time.
  5. I've been working on my long irons. I have never pulled out my 3 unless I am with friends/family because I don't have the confidence. I hit the ball low and I end up shorter than my 4 or 5 anyways. Usually my problem is I mis-hit and my clubface opens up drastically, so to prepare for this I grip the club too tight and I end up hitting REALLY fat or I try really hard and top the ball. I just can't get comfortable with it. Even pulling it out of the bag makes me uncomfortable. I have sat at the range with it and it just makes my wrists sore trying to get into the groove. I need to go for a lesson desperately, I'm self-taught for the most part but this time I need help.
  6. My first set after my wal-mart specials were callaway fusion's and I have no reason to change. Maybe to the Ft's but I feel like it's marketing at play and there's no real reason to upgrade. I just started golfing (more than once a year) last year and I get out 2-3 times a week now because I'm in love with the game. I have considered downgrading to a more GI-based set but I have read that the fusions are fairly easy to hit in comparison to other PI irons. I just got an FT-IQ (upgraded from my FT-3) as well and wow...just wow.
  7. You guys need to buy an Xbox and play Tiger Woods '10. It gives me the ability to play bethpage and pebble beach every day of the week ;)
  8. Brutal. Every time this commercial comes on I turn my tv off and thank god I have an FT-IQ.
  9. You guys are probably going to go ohhhh noooo boooooo but... I use the Detour and I love it. I've been using it for 2 years now and putting is one of my strong suits.
  10. I just bought a scotty cameron copper napa (1996 limited edition) from 3balls. I couldn't believe it actually arrived the NEXT DAY. I paid in the evening and it was shipped out the next morning. Quickest shipping I've ever seen.
