Thank god there are still helpful and friendly people in this world. Today, I went out to the range and invited a dad and his son to come with me. The son just started about a few months ago just like me and the dad has been playing for over 10 years with lots of experience. After a few good shots with the irons and wedges. I decided to bust to my driver, the one club that I hate to hit with the most. A couple of good shots, but most were slicing or hooking. The dad came over and observed me and basially gave me a free lessen. He noticed my grip was weak and showed me the proper way to strengthened my grip. After that, my shots were consistently going straighter and farther. Also, my irons and wedge shots were on the money. After the dad and son left for the night, the employee at the range came out and also gave me a free lesson. Now, Im more confident with my swings and cant wait to transfer everything I learned today and take it out on the course.

Thats very true on not mattering how far my shots go. I was just curious on what many pros on here say if using my hybrids can affect my driver swing later on the future. For now, im gonna stick to my hybrids just because im hitting them pretty damn well. On a 180+ par 3, I was able to get about 10 yards shy from the green. Thats with a 4H too. so I must be doing something good if Im hitting my balls that solid with the hybrid.

That I realized a while ago. For example, I would hit a fat shot and it would still sky rocket more than I expected. Being that I only started playing this year and my best round was a 107. Im still pretty happy with that. Also, I shot my first birdie this year so I was stoked. Somehow, I gotta just overcome my fear of being at an actual course because this is something that Im not use to but I would love to keep playing this sport

/\ to be honest, I do prefer the course than the range, but when funds are low. I go the the range just to get some practice in. Although, there is a county course near by that only cost me $9 for a par 60 18 hole course after 1pm. So I try to go there and get my practice in at a decent size course. The greens are the slowest, but the condition of the course is not bad at all. Back to the "smartass" answer (JK), I get intimidated very easily when im on a course than the range because of the possibilities of screwing up the shots are more common. My purpose for this thread is to get some ideas on what others have gone through and what they did to overcome that fear.

Ive been looking into buying one of these but havent had a clear idea on if it really helps. Ive seen alot of vids where the swing plane is correct by the hinged club. I just saw this brand and its a hell of alot cheaper than the medicus, but I was wondering if anyone here has use this http://refinergolf.com/

Recently, I hit the driving range and actually took vid of my driver, iron, and hybrid swings. Alot of my shots were amazing at the range. My driver distances were up to 200+ yards for a beginner with little slicing or hooks. My Irons and hybrids were also on the money. Today, I went to a course thinking after my practice at the range would transfer. I guessed wrong. Only one driver shot out of the whole course was respectable. Irons were so so and my hybrids shots resulted to alot of topping. Maybe I get intimidated at an actual course, but can anyone explain this?

I think my balls are hurting me...

I see that you use the e6 bridgestone golf balls. how much does it help your hits? Did it really reduce your slices or hooks? -
Using my 4H on a 154 yarder with the wind againsts me, i got my first birdie on a par 3 today. That ball closest to the pin is mine. Sorry for the poor image quality. Heres another from another course after playing two rounds in one day.

I got my first birdie!!! It was a 152 yard par 3 shot and Im the ball closest to the pin. The funny thing is that on the next hole i was doing bad, but I chipped the bogey shot into the cup from about 20 yards away. LOL. Not bad for a 3 month player and I shot a 107 today. Best legit score Ive had all year.

Did I just find the cheapest rate for group lessons?
mrprovisional replied to mrprovisional's topic in Golf Talk
I believe there is. I think its 12 a class, but there are alot of teachers from what I hear. When I was going through the site, Im just thinking of holding off on buying new clubs by investing in the lessons. -
Im currently in the search for the cheapest group rate for golf lessons and I think i found it. A customer at my GF's job told me that a out of county golf course is offering group lessons for $105 that includes 2 hour lessons in a group in 4 sessions. Now my question is, does that sound like a reasonable rate for group lessons or would you guys recommend private lessons for an intermediate player like me?

Lakewood- Not a bad course especially after 3pm, its only $16 to walk and 26 to ride. Hanover- by far the best place I've ever played for the price. Greens are super fast and challenging, but scenery was kinda boring. Nothing to brag about Spring Meadow- Very scenic course, but tee boxes were poorly maintained and the greens were ok. The other courses I havent played yet but I do plan on playing them at least once this year.

Thats one of the things im still working on and my backswing and downswing as well as my follow through. Would this help my slices and hooks as well if I took lessons on swing fundamentals? -
Im no expert and only a new vids show my ball not really going anywhere, but I was wondering if you guys can help out on what im doing wrong. (Probably everything) LOL. Sorry for a few in weird colors. I couldnt figured out why it did it at first. Most recent with my used driver Two months ago using a 7 iron Also two months ago using a 3 wood

Jack > Tiger because his experience in the game is far more superior than Tiger. What tiger has over jack is simply youth and thats it.

Because im not that rich and try to go golfing on a budget, I go to my local county courses. http://www.ocean.nj.us/Parks/golf.htm Definitely the cheapest and I can go at least 3 to even 5 times a week because its so affordable
