Poor guy, almost could have called it the "When Will Mike Weir Break Par?" thread. Weirsy did however break par, (once), 11 WEEKS AGO at Pebble Beach. Please tell me this isn't a Duval/ Ian Baker-Finch situation....he looked pretty bad last year too.

First, take a deep breath and step back for a moment. I have absolutely been in your shoes in the last six months. I finally, just three weeks ago, got control of "it." I practice S/T too, and what's a basic tenet?....backswing goes inside. This, as Sean Miller points out, leads to a very in-to-out swing, in which the hosel can lead into the ball. I solved my issue by actually looking at KJ Choi's downswing....watch how he gets that right shoulder moving towards the target...probably Over the Top, but for chronic shankers/in-to-out swingers, its a good visual. Just thinking.."turn right shoulder toward target" on downswing cured my shanks...Certainly, this advice is NOT for everyone, but it worked for me. Good Luck!

Mulled over..You're right, a little harsh. As a 10 handicapper, I'd take that score any day too.
-
Stop embarrassing yourself....better yet, bring that score card to your home course and really show it off..."No really, I almost carried that 175 yard par 4...so close...so close.."

Doylestown here. Play out of LuLu CC.

New Stack and Tilt Vids Coming Out?
bpschmid replied to bpschmid's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Eric, you guys film it, and I'll be first order...love the free content, but you guys deserve to make a couple bucks for the effort! -
Thanks fellas...the big question was always the Par 3's..think the 24* hybrid, 7 iron and 52* gap should do it. Appreciate the input.

Just read a post from Dana Dahlquist at GolfWRx that the boys, (Andy and Mike), will soon put out some new vids. Eric, any ETA or content info come your way? (BTW, I hope they're as good as the vids released by you guys over at The Golf Evolution.)

No putter allowed either. Any suggestions on a good combination of clubs? Never been in one of these before.

Almost fell off the couch when I heard that voice! Apparently, Dave also sells custom Quidditch brooms to college kids who've made a sport out of this. Good luck Dave! (Please continue your S&T; pursuits also.)

Thanks Uttexas...it definitely looks better in slo-mo, and it looks good at impact. Wonder if that weird move is why is a relatively short knocker on Tour?
-
Its simple math really...4 out of 5 pieces = 5% in Foley's world....

Can one of you swing gurus break this thing down for me? He just seems to lunge at the ball, using all upper body strength, as pointed out by last weeks tournament commentators. How did he win $1.8 million plus this year with that move?

Thanks for the video Nevets88. Steve recommended the same things..Tee's under arm pits, and "pulling" to the left in the downswing. Funny thing is, I went out and shot my season low 81, right after the lesson, but "lost" the good feelings from the lesson a week later. For a guy who likes the "push" feel of the downswing, that left arm "pull" feel is very strange. Of course, Steve's busy this week-end, so I'm desperately trolling the internet for guys who've encountered the same problem....appreciate your input!
-
Awesome my man...keep up the good work! Breaking 80 is my goal this year...just shot an 81 on Wednesday..hope this week-end will be the one. Your round gives me hope!

Gotta watch those 65 year old ladies...they've been known to poke it out there at least 165 yards...seriously though, as a beginner just go practice and play as much as possible...stop concentrating on who you're trying to beat.

nevets88: Sieracki's good...I've taken at least 5 lessons with him...been meaning to take a ride over to Burlington CC myself...good luck. Keep these videos coming boys! Great work!

I know these sound obvious, but better to be prepared. Either wear your golf shoes to the course, or bring them, (in an appropriate shoe bag), to the men's locker room...DO NOT change into anything in the parking lot. If you're taking a caddie, plan on a $40-$50 tip, and bring some extra cash to tip the cart boy, etc. Your best bet is to call ahead and inquire at the pro shop as to their tipping policy..ask 'em what a fair caddie tip is...they have no idea who you are, so don't be embarrassed. Don't bring your own cooler, thermos, beer, etc...I'm sure that's frowned upon. If you're using a cart, I wouldn't take it to the parking lot to drop your clubs either, unless you've seen others doing so. DO take advantage of free range time etc...

S&T Swing: Need help shortening backswing...
bpschmid replied to bpschmid's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Thanks boys...as usual, you were right on Iacas. I was constantly trying to keep that right tricep "attached" to my right side, and over flexing past 90 degrees. That feeling of not bending my right arm at all gets me much closer to the model....thanks to all... -

Iacas, Mvmac, Dave, etc...any suggestions or "feelings" you have to stay short of parallel at top of backswing? Thanks fellas. -
Mvmac...nice swing ...like following your post too.

"Still a little pizza left in that box..", when your partner's putt comes up short.

Erik or Dave W....could you guys give me a detailed description of the "traffic cone drill" to keep clubhead from whipping inside too fast...want to try this at my range...also, I seem to be pulling wedge shots...any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
