  2. Actually, the dot is not something common among all TaylorMade R11 tour clubs. The "dot version" actually has a different CG location and is supposed be lower launching and lower spinning. Not every TaylorMade staff player with tour clubs has the dot version of the head.
  3. From what I've read, there is no difference in the tip adjustment between a R11 sleeve and an R11 Tp sleeve. Sorry if I got your hopes up, I was thinking of the tour issue R11 sleeve.
  4. I have read over on another forum that the TP hosel allows for more adjustments than the standard sleeve. I think that it's like twice the adjustments that you have on the other sleeve. Let me check where I found it and I'll let you know more tomorrow
  5. Thanks for the suggestion. I had noticed that when looking at the video, but didn't know if that was a cause of the slice or a result of something else. I'll work on that tomorrow morning before my round and hopefully I'll finally be able to hit my driver well.
  6. I'm guessing the shaft is an x-flex in the 70 gram range. If CH3 gave you the driver, it's probably a tour club. The 8 degree head is only available on tour (will be released to the public soon) and that is a TP sleeve. I think this is probably a tour issue club...
  7. Thanks for the suggestions jshots. I'm going to do what you suggested and edit the first post if I'm still in time.
  8. I'd like to get some ideas on what is going wrong with my swing. I have seeing a right to left (fade) trajectory and this is what's happening with my driver lately. All my other clubs have my natural baby draw but for some reason, I'm struggling with a fade/slice with the driver. Here's a link to my swing: What is the cause of the problem? Thanks for the help.
  9. I feel the same way. Tomorrow I finally get to try an R11 for the first time and I have to admit I'm really excited to try it out. I don't really think the head color will bother me at all.
  10. The White Ice insert is firmer than the White Hot XG, so it fits the bill of what the OP is looking for.
  11. I would look at the 60 and 56 as they seem to have white paintfill on the loft-bounce number that is on the back of the club. The paintfill is white, and the ones I own that were packed in a Acushnet box have a red paintfill.
  12. My goal is to be scratch or in the plus range in 5 or years. I'm currently at 5.3 but my game is coming around at this time of the year and I currently have a 3/4 month break between the end of high school and the start of university. I'm aiming to reach 4.4 for a university requirement in the next few weeks and then using the rest of the summer to work my way down to a 3. I'll probably be much busier in the next few years and might not find as much time to play, but if I put enough work in the gym and manage to improve my putting, I see myself as very close to shooting around even par on 18 holes. Hopefully that will turn into consistently breaking par in a few years.
  13. Thanks again for the help. Unfortunately those are the specs for the real shaft, not the " made for Titleist" version I'm looking for. It was a custom option without upcharge for the 909F series, meaning that I can't find it on the Titleist website anymore.
  14. Thanks for the reply, but I'm looking specifically at the "Made for Titleist" version. I know the real XCon-6 has similar specs, but the Titleist ones are slightly different in terms of weight and torque.
  15. Hello sand trappers, I have a quick question about the specs of the Matrix Ozik XCon-6 Made for Titleist FW Shaft. I'm not able to find these anywhere, I even attempted to contact Titleist without success. Does anyone know the specs of this shaft, a custom (but no upcharge) option with the 909 F range? Thanks for the help, andef
  16. Would you be so kind to show everyone this link? Also, the fact that your driving distance increased by 75 yards in one club fitting is complete nonsense as well. You might pick up 20, maybe 30 yards from a proper clubfitting. But going up by 75 yards to a carry of 320 yards AVERAGE, which is something not even Bubba Watson can average, is never going to happen. If JB Holmes, Bubba Watson and Dustin Johnson (thanks Wet Doggg) are 10 yards from a total distance of 320 yards, how in the world do you carry it 10 yards past them?
  17. The fact that you're saying you ended up with an average carry of over 320 yards let's me know this is complete nonsense...
  18. I find that there is a pretty big difference between the two in terms of trajectory, forgiveness and feel. The AP2s are slightly softer and easier to work for me, but it seems like you feel the AP1s are more of your type.
  19. You should probably specify that your the golfer of the year at your club or whatever it is.... Getting back to the topic, I love my Newport 2. Great look and have been putting with it really well. Ever since I got it, the number of short putts I'm making has increased. It just fits my stroke better than a mallet. Did you have any particular preferences out on the putting green? Seeing as you like mallets, and with SC that is limited to the Kombi, I suggest you look into the Squareback, Fastback, California Del Mar. All those with a bigger head size will probably fit your eye. But then again, I can't really suggest anything as I've never seen you putt before and do not know which putter looks/feels/works best in your hands.
  20. How did this hate for TaylorMade come about? I'm just as annoyed at you at TM's marketing, but you can't say their products are rubbish. They might advertise their Burner irons as 10 yards longer than a competitor's product and this might mainly be as a result of super strong lofts. You might consider the white color just a useless claim to sell clubs that are different. But you can't say the clubs don't perform. As much as I don't intent to game TM, their clubs are great. You can't bash a brand who sells hundreds of thousands of golf clubs a year, has a huge number of pros on tour and design well performing clubs solely because of your opinion or , as Shorty put it, your inability to hit a club in the sweet spot.
  21. I play the ProV1x (2009 Version) and I'm going to contemplate switching (I'll give the dozen I have a try) to the newer version when I finish the 3 dozen 2009s I have. I tend to experiment with a lot of balls, Bridgestone B330s, TaylorMade Penta, Callaway Tour series and the Srixon Z-Star. I'm really happy with the ProV1x version so I'm not looking to change to another brand.
  22. Quote: To my knowledge, it's something very few brands have done over time. I know that Ryan Moore used to have lofts on his irons when he was with Scratch and he's an old-style player (at least from his look). Maybe it is something that they used to do. However, I think that it is a marketing technique as it allows many brands to market the distance of their irons. If you put in the loft, then the change in distance will probably be no more than 5/10 yards, and although that is significant, it's not too much. I just find it annoying when brands like TaylorMade target the Burner (1st version) iron to be like 12 yards longer than the Titleist AP2s when they're effectively comparing a 5 iron to a 6 iron. Not too many golfers, my self included a few years ago, know much about equipment. I remember hitting the Burner 4-iron once and telling the TM rep that it went just as far as my Ping 3 iron, now I'm not surprised about that knowing that I was indeed hitting a 3-iron stamped with 4. That's all I have to say, but I know that many are willing to play those irons and as long as it helps their game, that's great.
  23. I am aware of the small difference in loft between the two sets but it'd still shy away from such strong lofts. I have very accurate gapping with my irons, so gaming 3-PW (actually 2-9) would mean I'd need to replace a number of clubs in my bag. I'm happy the OP has found a set of irons he's happy with, and wish him the best of luck with that.
  24. And you have a 9 degree gap between your PW and SW? I'm sure the burners are great clubs, but I'd never game something with such strong lofts.
  25. Quote: His Burner irons are very different do the ones you find in golf stores. They have a different finish and less offset than the standard version so that they set up like more of a player's iron. The 2.0s actually look decent at address and with the changes in Camilo's irons, they probably compare to the Cobra CBs he was playing.
