I bought my Scotty Cameron about 3 weeks ago at Golfsmith in Birmingham. I bought a black Titleist hat at Wal Mart tonight.

I bought five dozen "Practice" TP Blacks for $104.00 shipped to my house. I used a black marker through the "Practice" for my putting line. I might order five more dozen next week. That many should last for a while.

I putted with my Scotty Cameron Kombi for about 45 minutes before I decided to spend that much money for a putter. My buddies had some cute remarks about the price when they saw it for the first time but they all agree now that it's helped my scores. If it ever gets stolen I will go buy another one the next day.

I have a Ping G10 21* hybrid that I put in my bag sometimes. I usually carry a Taylormade Burner 5 wood and 3 wood in my bag.

I was playing with my 27 year old son a few months ago. He is a lefty and real long with every club. We were hitting two on a par five and I landed about 10 ft from the pin. He landed on the frenge so I was talking trash about how his old dad was putting for eagle. He just stepped up to his ball took two practice swings and chipped it in the cup for eagle. I made my putt too so it was a great memory that i'll never forget. He beat me by about 4 strokes that day as usual.

Thanks, I was using a strong grip and it was causing my ball to go left. I changed my grip and it worked. I also slowed my swing down about 20%.

I have a regular shaft in my 3 wood. Will a stiff shaft help keep it from going left. (I'm right handed).

I have a ball retriever that I bought at Academy Sports for about $14.00. It's only about 16" long when it's closed and about 10' long when extended. It works great for getting a ball from a ditch or one that's just on the other side of a fence. It will pack away in a side zipper pocket on my bag.

When I was younger and before two back surgeries I had a set of Ping ISIs with a 2 iron. I could hit it but I would use a stronger grip to keep it straight. Now my 4 iron is my longest iron.

I bought the Ap1s and they have improved my game but I'm already looking at the new forged AP2s, Ping S57s and muscle back Mizuno irons. I want to keep getting better but I'm afraid to go to a "players iron". What would you better golfers do in my situation?

I've been getting good info from The Sand Box for about a year. I wanted to jump in so I did a few days ago. I'm 50 years old and retired so I have a lot of free time. I didn't play golf for eight years because of two back surgeries. I started back last year with a used set of Titleist DCIs then bought the AP1s about 8 months ago. I am getting better and am about a 12 handicap at best. I plan on learning from you guys and getting better. My goal is shooting in the low 70s by the end of next summer. I'm learning to focus on my short game. I starting to take my time on chips and try to get long putts as close as I can instead of just knocking it toward the hole. I live in a small town North of Birmingham. We have two nice courses but I like to drive 30 miles to Gadsden, Al and play Twin Bridges Golf Course. I'm looking forward to interacting with you guys and sharing stories from time to time. . . .

You got to love those mallet putters. They help me with my line. I have a Kombi but the 2balls are great too.

I went to Golfsmith to buy a Odyssey 2ball and walked out with a Scotty Cameron KOMBI 35". I love the feel and the sound of this putter. I won't be asking for gimmies.

I have a friend that is constantly wanting a gimme when he has a three foot putt. He will shoot in the mid 80s when I give him the putts but when we play with other partners that won't give them to him he's in the low 90s. I always putt the ball in the cup and not accept any gimmes when we play together, hoping he will take the hint. How would you handle it?

I've been playing the Taylormade TP reds and blacks for a few months. They are great balls!

I bought the KOMBI yesterday. I went to buy a Odyssey 2-ball but walked out with the Scotty KOMBI after putting with both putters for about a hour.
