Finally I have four players through to the weekend. Whew. It's about time. There's no telling who is going to win this one. It's up in the air.

Well, despite her age, Michelle Wie is the hottest LPGA player in my opinion. Erica Blasberg is a on fire, too. Paula Creamer is not bad to look at, nor is Natalie Gulbis (but she is nowhere near as hot as some make her out to be). Edit: The more I look at the picture of Erica Blasberg that I linked, the more addicted I get to her figure and smile.

Born in Fayettville. Many a family reunion at Lake Fort Smith (when it was still open). Lived most of my life outside of Little Rock in Maumelle. Went to Pulaski Oak Grove and Little Rock Central before graduating from North Little Rock High. Hadn't ever lived anywhere else until I joined the Navy when I was 18.

I disagree. There is a major difference between what pros play for and what we play for. We play for fun and enjoyment of the game. They play for money and, more importantly, they play to be the best. It's all about the competition for them and finishing second time after time does nothing but show that DiMarco is good, but not good enough to win. They don't settle for that. They have the money, it's the wins they crave.

Wow. I'm stationed here with the Navy but transfering out May 19 or I'd have to offer ya a drink. You're from Arkansas, huh? Well, so am I. Born and bred to bleed Razorback red. In fact, we're the same age. Where are you from? Regarding the course: it was gorgeous. Very well maintained. Lots of sand, so I hope you're good out of the bunkers and traps. And also a lot of very drastic undulation around the greens. All in all, very pretty and it should be both a joy and challenge to play.

I'm a new fan of DiMarco. I always liked watching the guy, but when you follow a player around for 10 hours you get a new perspective on them. I was with him for the completion of his 3rd round and his entire 4th round yesterday and here are my thoughts. He's a great person. On the 18th in his 3rd round, his drive went WAY left, hit a pole and bounced close to 100 yards left of the fairway. Of course, we all ran up to see him take an incredibly awkward shot. DiMarco was smiling and laughing and when he someone told him what had happened, he looked at the pole smirking and said, "Wow. And I didn't think those poles were even in play. You all know I meant to do that, right?" Now, onto the final round. When he birdied the 8th hole to go to -15, pretty much everyone on the course thought he had it locked up. Petrovic was already making a move, but most people assumed he would falter down the stretch, and he did. Chris has two problems and they both started on the 10th tee. One was that he consistently hit the ball into the sand, usually to the left of center on the fairway. And two was that his putter failed him. Hole after hole we held out breath as he attempted birdies and just missed. The entire course was rooting for Chris. It was about as one-sided as I could have imagined. DiMarco had several chances to win the tournament on his back nine, and he just simply couldn't get it done. I think that Driscoll's great approach shot scared him to death and that is why he tried to hard to make the birdie on 18 that eventually led him to a bogey. He just couldn't make any clutch putts that weren't inches away. He'll win one again, eventually. But the guy's confidence has to be getting shaken. At least he was very friendly and willing to sign autographs.

Thanks everyone, it truly is an experience all should have. Erik, you're gonna absolutely love your two trips to tourneys this year. I think I'll probably go ahead and follow DiMarco, despite everyone else most likely doing the same. Ya never know, I might get an autograph on the day he stepped into the elite. Hehe. Well, it really could show that he's here to stay if he can win this thing. He's been playing quite well. The greens at the TPC of Louisiana are unruly. Up and down, up and down. I'd love to try my weekend golfer hand at this course.

Rain delays are much more annoying in person.

You aren't the only one who was made about that. I was walking by the practice greens this morning and overheard one of the PGA Tour staff on a walkie-talkie saying that Elkington hadn't shown and they'd need a replacement. The guy on the other end said something and then the guy I was close to said, "Would've been nice to have some notice. Oh well, no big loss."
-
So, I almost ran over David Toms with a stroller. Cool, huh? The guy is pretty darn short. It's amazing to be so close to these professionals when you're at the tournament. By far the closest any fan will ever get to an athlete at a sporting event, at least on a regular basis. For those of you who've never attended a tournament before, I recommend not taking your young kids. We tried. The experiment failed after only one hole. At least I saw John Daly knock the crap out of that ball, though. I'm so addicted now. Being there is like a drug. Back to the tournament now...

I think of it as 1 win. I'm a huge Adam Scott fan and I wouldn't even call the Nissan Open a true victory. If the PGA Tour doesn't recognize it, then that's all that matters. Still, great performance. I'm thrilled that he led all four rounds. That's something he needed to show to himself that he could do, as well as fight off a late charge by others.

I'm thrilled to have three golfers playing on Sunday and actually have a score equal to and above some people. I've had a miserable start to this segment. Here's hoping tomorrow will mark the start of a major turnaround for me.

The tentative field list for the Zurich Classic is up on PGATour.com. None of my favorites (Scott, Woods, Garcia) are going to be there, so I'm trying to decide who to follow, or if I should just get comfortable at a single hole and stay there as the field plays through. I'd follow Daly, but his personal site doesn't have him playing in New Orleans so I'm not expecting him to be there. As of now I'm leaning towards following Poulter. My wife likes Justin Rose, so I suppose that is always an option, as well. Does nyone that has been to a PGA Tour event before have any advice on good spectatorship?
-
I picked him in my Yahoo league, but not here (doh!). I'm just happy to have some rounds with more than four birdies. I've had an absolutely horrendous start to this segment.

When I'm not deployed over the Summer (which seems like every other year lately) I watch Big Brother religiously. I've also been suckered into watching American Idol this year. I usually stop watching it when all the hot chicks are gone. Sometimes I'll tune into America's Top Model , too, for obvious reasons. As a whole, I'm sick of reality TV. Give me cartoons, sports or movies anytime now.

I'd bail without a second thought on the matter. There are some things that are simply more important in life. Tiring myself out by playing (potentially) 36 holes on two consecutive days seems like it would be a disservice to my chances at The Masters.
-
It's not cool when a player doesn't show that you have selected. There's just no control over that. As for Round #1, its been postponed completely now. It will be played tomorrow... supposedly.
-
Well, this is not good for fantasy at all. Luke Donald didn't show, so now I'm pretty much screwed anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of players start withdrawing that are going to be in the Masters next week.
-
I dunno. My third round score was -2 and my fourth round score was +1. I wouldn't be surprised about anything I ended up with.
-
This is unbelievable. So many bogeys. Everyone is dropping like flies. The cut was at -1 and there are now 39 golfers at par or above!
-
Yup, I jinxed him. Last time I do that.
-
Obviously when I posted he was still catching up. Since then he's decided to bogey a couple of holes and fall off the lead. However, he's still in striking distance and it would be a great story to finally have a back-to-back Player's Champion.
-
Are you sure? They've already put up a final score for the tournament, though. I've never seen them do that before and then go and change it later.
-
I'm on the verge of dropping out of the league because of ESPN. This is absolutely ridiculous. In a tournament as important to fans and the players, and one that is widely considered the fifth major, ESPN just ended the scoring after the 2nd round and called it a day. Rather than try and figure out a way to manipulate their programs to accomodate the rain delays, they just gave up and have made our rosters ready for selection of the next tourney's foursome. This week was double points, too. I'm so pissed.

Adam Scott isn't going away. He's pulled into a tie for the lead now, still looking to defend his Player's Championship title from a year ago. He would be the first to ever do so, as I'm sure most of you already know. With one and a half rounds to go in the rainy event, he has stayed consistent and slowly worked his way to the top of the leaderboard. I love the drama. I love this game! (Good thing I've been buying up all the A.S. memorabilia that I want on Ebay over the past year and a half.)
