  1. Heh. This time we're getting engraved plaques, so they took our names and said they would deliver them in about a week. I'm still in shock about the whole thing. By the way, I know it's the wrong thread, but Happy Freaking Birthday, man!
  2. Today I played in a scramble tournament. My foursome shot a 5-under 65 to win the tournament over 13 over teams by one stroke. We played perfect team golf today. No matter how bad some of our shots were, one person always hit the shot we needed. I personally made some great putts, some very solid drives and have my confidence at a sky-high level right now.
  3. Holy cow. This is getting tough, indeed. I tried an A, two Bs and a C. Couldn't get the numbers to work even taking Duval. I have a feeling that our foursomes are going to be looking quite differently from now on. No more of the same four picked across the board.
  4. The PC may be my favorite event, as well. Unfortunately, my support is behind Adam Scott, and history doesn't support back-to-back winners. But hey, there I go talking strategy. I'm gonna own you guys this segment. Hehe.

    Phony Phil

Wow. So you're one of those people? The ones that think everything is still a racial issue? No one ever said anything about Phil thinking any certain way because he is light-skinned, so why attack Tiger and call him a racist? Silly, silly, silly. Not to mention uncalled for, unfair and rude. You're free to have your opinion, of course, but I see no basis for it other than reasons you stretched for. Stanford is a "white" college? People who think like that make me sick. Everything doesn't have to be black and white. As for all the crap (yes, crap) you brought up about Goosen and Els' families... what the hell? What do their families have to do with anything? Everyone knows Vijay isn't the friendliest guy on Tour, that's obvious and no secret at all. But none of these guys put on a clearly fake smile the way that Phil does. At least most of the comments about Phil have been verified facts.
  6. Well, it's looking like Kiran is gonna edge me out by a stroke. Nice to see my cheap pick (Joe Ogilvie) come up and work his way into a playoff, though.
  7. I almost went with the exact same team as Erik, but switched out Na at the last minute. (DOH!)
  8. In its latest issue, Golf Digest (a golf magazine, duh) has a very small 1/4 of a page dedicated to listing a few golf blogs. This is the first time, however, that I've ever seen bloggers directly mentioned in a relatively widely published magazine. SortaGolf , No Damn Three Putts and Grouchy Golf were all listed, with a few words describing each site. There were a couple of other sites listed, as well, but unfortunately The Sand Trap was not.
  9. I think this is just due justice. I personally don't want Vijay representing the sport as its top player, so I couldn't care less if he is struggling. I believe that his problems may be a combination of things: 1) The streaky putting as mentioned before. 2) A little bit of over confidence going into this season after last year's achievements. 3) Too much focus on working out to get better instead of "feel" and "touch." Just my .02. I may be way off, I may not be.
  10. Thanks, fellas. We just arrived home today and are going to be taking it as easy as possible (yeah, right) for the next couple of weeks. If I'm lucky I'll squeeze a round or two in somewhere and consider it "stress relief."
  11. We saw this while sitting in the hospital. I looked up when I heard "Nicklaus" and almost wished I hadn't. How you ever let a toddler out of your sight for more than 30 seconds I just don't know. It's very, very sad.
  12. Yes, Flap, I'm in the good 'ole U.S. Navy. :)
  13. Tyler Chase White is here!!!! He arrived yesterday (Feb 28) at 2:05 pm Central. He weighs 7 lbs and 8 oz, and he is 20" long. Both baby and momma are healthy as can be and mom is recovering nicely. He's a gorgeous baby... well, he is my son after all.
  14. Well, we're leaving for the hospital in about two hours. The next time I post I will be the Daddy of a baby boy. Wish us luck and health especially for Mom and baby.
  15. I agree with every word that TaylorMadeFan typed.
  16. WOOHOO!!!! LOL Believe me, I was sweating Cink's match with Love III. And here I thought losing Darren Clarke losing in Round #1 would ruin my chances. Guess I'm smarter than I thought... or luckier.
  17. I concur, Kiran. Judy is just as dull as can be. The post-match interview with Tiger should have tried to capture his disappointment a little better, not ask him five straight times if he thought his putting was bad. She's an idiot. I like the team they have put together and I especially enjoy Mike Tirico. He really can work an audience.
  18. I love how unpredictable match play is. Can we say wow? Nick O'Hern played fantastic golf, not only against Tiger, but also against Luke Donald (who many experts assumed would be the one guy who could beat Tiger in that bracket). I was so glad to get to sit home and watch the coverage all day long. I also loved seeing my two faves go head-to-head, with my pick (Adam Scott) coming out on top. I still don't see anyone beating him, and with Tiger and Phil out of his way, he should sail into the Final smoothly. How am I the only one with a shot at the finals, though? Because I still have Cink alive? Just curious. At least we know the guy adding the points isn't cheating. Isn't that right, Kiran?
  19. Each round should absolutely be an increased point value just like the NCAA College Basketball Tournament. It has to be that way to work. :) Didn't realize we would be so close. Gonna be a tight race!
  20. This is a tough thing to pick. More upsets than the NCAA tournament. The middle of the field is so evenly matched with the bottom. I thought Raffy's picks were crazy, too. Glad someone else said it.
  21. Well, I'm screwed. Darren Clarke just lost in the first round.
  22. Each golfer will accumulate some points no matter what. There is a certain amount of money/points awarded depending on which round they LOSE in, with the exception of the eventual winner, of course. I'm nervous right now. Darren Clarke blew his big lead and they're on the 17th hole all-square.
  23. Yep, I have a LOT of trouble with my middle irons.
  24. I was browsing Overstock.com today and thought this driver would make an excellent birthday present for me at the end of April. Taylor Made 360XD RH Driver What do you all think? Decent investment for a newbie like myself who has a $100 SET of Knight clubs? Does anyone have any experience with Overstock.com? The club may not even be available by the time my birthday rolls around.
  25. That's awesome, bro. Looks great.
