  1. Well if the Orlimar is considered 3 wood that is a boost to my confidence! Hitting it that far is great!
  2. Chatting up the cart girl.....
  3. In 2009, definitely my driver. Average drive of 280 yards. Hit about 85% of faiways. Hopefully this keeps up in 2010. Need to work on the short game, 100 yards in.
  4. Anyone witnessing Palmer during his heyday is a fossil!! richieb
  5. Any coordinated athlete can make contact with the golf ball. Getting on in 2 or getting on in three isn't a big difference. If you can't put the ball out being 3-4 feet away you could pick-up 3-4 extra strokes rather than 1 or two getting to the green. richieb
  6. I hit an Orlimar - similar to a 3 wood. It is a 13 degree club and goes about 245 yards. Off the tee I sometimes surprise myself and out-drive guys using their drivers. Check them out! Great club.
  7. Agreed. Putting and the game within 100 yds of the green is where you will take the most strokes off your score. Congrats on the wedding BTW - Golf Clubs are a great wedding gifT!
  8. Ummm....Jack was bigger and stronger than TW? You're kidding right? Tiger Woods is the most athletic golfer to ever play in the PGA! I don't think good old Jack could bench press 350 lbs like Tiger, nor was his swing speed as fast as Tiger's. richieb
  9. Golfers that over exaggerate how far they hit the ball or what score they shot is the most irritating thing in golf! Saying you hit a few drives over 300 yds when they actually went 275 yds does not make you a better golfer. Further, saying you shot in the 80s when you take 5 re-hits does not make you a decent golfer that consistently shoots in the 80s! You are only cheating yourself - man-up, be honest and take your game for what it is, not what you wish it was!! This is a pet-peeve, especially if you talk yourself up prior to getting out for the round and then you shite the bed on the course. richieb
  10. Beautiful weather yesterday!! Started off with a double bogey, it was a rough front nine with a 41 (+5). Not bad back nine with a 38 (+2). 79 (+7) for the 18 which is a good round for myself! Goal is to keep the rest of the rounds this season under 80......my short game better stay in check! richieb
  11. I prefer to walk. Walking an 18 hole round of golf will burn approximately 900 to 1,200 calories, obviously more if you are a golfer that takes more swings and hit your ball from the rough on the right side of the fairway to the left side of the fairway. Walking 18 is a good alternative if you miss a day or two at the gym. However, I would highly recommend a cart to those golfers that are just starting out or have a 15 handicap or higher just so that it does keep the pace of the game up. ROUNDS OVER 4.5 hours kill me!! richieb
  12. Tiger has changed the game of golf and the popularity of the sport on a global scale. He has done wonders for the game. Palmer, Watson and Nicklaus all did a lot for the game of golf but nowhere near what Tiger has done. I guess its the evolution of sport. Someone after Tiger will have a great impact on the game as well in due time. richieb

Someone after Tiger will have a great impact on the game as well in due time. Tiger has taken sport domination to a whole new level. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Pele are known around the world and have all done wonders for the growth and popularity of their respective sports - without them the games would not be the same!! richieb
