  1. I played baseball in college, so I had the typical baseball swing.. yet I could hit the ball decent. He transformed my swing and I struggled with it at first because it was brand new to me. Thats what I was referring to. A month and a half is a little long to still not showing signs of improvement.
  2. Some of the first words my instructor told me... "You will get worse before you get better." It is like anything, you are doing it your way and making ends meet... however, when someone shows you the "correct" way, it is hard to adjust to it.
  3. Walks up to the ball after my drive on a par 5. Hit it about 280... looks over at my playing partner and say... "Man, I think I can make it to the flag with this next shot." He says, "Nah... play it safe and leave yourself a simple chip shot." I look back and say, "forget playing safe... Im gonna crush it." SWING... CRACK!! Hello tree (tried to hit the ball 800 yards and sliced it bad) Look over and say, "toss me another ball" as he just chuckles and throws me a ball. I then, switch clubs and hit a beauty down the middle of the fairway. Look at him and say, "HA... thanks alot".
  4. I seriously busted out laughing when I read this.
  5. I think they should just make it easy. Your handicap should be how many strokes over par you are. Average it out and you have your 'cap.
  6. The best advice I have always heard... "You can control the ball better on the ground." From then on, I have tried to get it on the ground as quick as possible. I tend to take my 8 iron and bump and run. I often get full of myself and try and shoot for the flag and end up rolling way past. Bump and run is the easiest shot for me to control.
  7. I dont see why everyone is up in arms about this. Alot of beginners are intimidating by the game enough. Let alone shelling out big cash for something they might even hate. I think it is stupid to have never swung a golf club seriously, to go out and pay the local pro an arm and leg for lessons. What happens if his boss ends up hating the game??? Kennay... go for it. Show her the ropes and if she loves the game, then recommend a local pro to her!
  8. Quick question... opinions are greatly appreciated. I am currently gaming the Slingshot 4D's and I enjoy them... but I kind of feel they arent exactly for me. I have stumbled across a great deal on some Ping G5 irons... brand new standard black dot. I have a couple of questions... Which would be the better irons for game improvement? Is it worth the upgrade? Should I spend the extra cash on the G10s or G15s? Can I take them to Golf Galaxy or a golf store of some sort to get them fit (bent to my specs) for me after purchasing them?
  9. I used to get ticked off, however, I have came to the understanding that it only makes me worse. Slow play really ticks me off too. Everyone plays at a different pace, but if you are the start of a back up... please dont hit 3 balls on every shot.
  10. $50 cash money... and I would be interested in purchasing it right now!
  11. Another fan of the Wilson Profiles. I think they are great balls for the price.
  12. Thread is WORTHLESS without pics!
  13. I would have made the idiot feel like a jerk. I would have said something along the lines of my friend being homesless and not having the money to pay for lessons!

    Bowling, anyone?

Yea, its always tougher for righties to score. Even if I have 3 lefties on my pair, I still dont have to make many adjustments.. for the simple fact that I throw a complete different line.

    Bowling, anyone?

Exactly... with me throwing the ball two handed and being left handed, it makes a huge different. There isnt another lefty who plays the same line as me, therefore, my oil never really changes!
