  1. Welcome to Bear Slide , best of the midwest!!!!
  2. I really don't think that would be legal or ethical. They did it the right way by calling him on it when they noticed.
  3. Thanks for the input guys. They did call them on it, went to 13 +2, and won 4 and 2. They guy was VERY MAD, used some extremely foul language directed at both my dad and his partner, and didn't say another word the entire round. Talked to the parter, who wasn't nearly as mad. The guy claimed a friend gave him the club the day before to try out and he forgot about it. None of us know if he used it or not. They are repeat champs, and i think both feel bad about what happened, but still felt they did the right thing. It has been a BIG point of emphasis for the Men's Club to abide by all rules (too many rolling it over for better lies and giving 6-footers to friends, etc). The guy knew he messed up, and was mad about going down two holes. They didn't play well the rest of the round. IMO, that is what cost them the match. They could have came back, both of them stroked on 17 and 18 and neither my dad or his partner did. It defintely wasn't over, but in his head it was, so the outcome came true. A good example of bad mental mindset costing you a tournament.
  4. There was, and yes they play USGA rules.
  5. Holy crap, man. Glad to hear you are okayish.
  6. PSN ID - Mofro. Sorry, couldn't resist. BTW, Halo 3 is next week, you excited?
  7. Yeah, it's a really big deal. I think they didn't want the other team to feel the championship was "stolen" because of it.
  8. Alright, so I try and keep this as short as possible. My dad played in a "Buddy" match over the weekend. It's a really big deal for his club, and he and his partner had a chance to be the first team to reapeat. It was the championship match. The team they were playing were "rivals" sort of speak in that they play (LOOOOOONG STORY) fromt the white tees based on their handicap from the previous year. One guy can crank it 300+ which, from the whites, can give you many low irons into the greens. My dad and his partner play from the Blues. Pretty much irrelevant, but it gives a little backstory, these teams are not "friends". So, it's a tight match thur 10. All square. Everyone tees off on 11. I am just watching, not playing. My dad's parter, Delph, sees one of the guys teeing of, but noticed a LOT of woods still in the bag, so he walks over and checks it out. Yep, 15 clubs in the bag. My dad checks as well, Yep, 15. Do you call him on it? In match play, if you do not declare one club unusable in the first two holes, and have 15, you lose current hole plus one. So they would head to 13 +2, or they could just play it out and see how it goes, and not call him on it. What would you have done? If you win, would you feel bad? Shut up and play or call him on it and go +2 and head to 13?
  9. hey, there are a few of us around still!!!!! Man, do I get chastized for my iron covers.
  10. Played somebody over the weekend with that, it's defintely a differnt sound.
  11. Thanks, glad you like them.
  12. That is a good question for sure. When those pics were taken, the 60 had MAYBE 5 shots on it and 56 MAYBE 2. They look MUCH different now (3 weeks later?). I was just smart enough, or bored at the right time, to shoot them when they were pretty, and new. The still look good, but the Oil Can finish is off of the sole of both.
  13. No, I think it's pretty ugly too, and I love Mizuno.
  14. you got it. cs3 is pretty solid
  15. thanks i need to lighten the lead ball in the first as well. i'll fix it tomorrow
  16. Great choice See sig.....
  17. I think Bay Hill is close, right? Palmer's course.....I loved it 10 years ago. Man, it's been a while.
  18. Here are the highlights brought up a touch on the lead ball. I think it's better. I have changed them in the original post with the balls pics, you can grab them there if ya want.
  19. Thanks, appreciated!!!!!! The new covers on Titleist's have a blue hue that's a pain in the butt to deal with and not make it look like they are frozen. But you need a little of it or it will look fake. I think I need to bring the highlights out a touch on the lead ball. Whatcha think? I'll shoot my bag sometime in the next week or so. Think I'll try and make of few out at the course this weekend. We will see if I come up with anything good.
  20. Don't forget, free rounds to Sand Trap members when you are at Pinehurst Good luck man, I was WAY TOO immature at your age to be thinking that smart
  21. Titleist Balls, three pics
  22. I've got one of the Titleist balls coming a later today. Nothing special, but they came out much better than the wedge.
  23. Alright, well, I really struggled with the single club. It's makes for a hard shot if you don't have studio time (and I didn't). While I didn't like what I got I thought I should put the best one up. So here is the Mizuno Wedge...... EDIT: I have one with deeper focus if the soft focus bothers anyone.
  24. I hope you do at some point. I don't think it makes the question meaningless. We can still consider all the options and say what we feel is right. Erik, you have a very definite point of view on here (no grey areas if possible ), and I think a lot of us would be curious how you decided to go. I assume you choose option B, as I think most of us here did, because it seems to fit your "style" from these boards. I, personally, would have choose B as well maninly because my home course does define the tees very specifically for members, and there is only one course record(from the blacks) and I would use those basic guidelines wherever I played. I hope later on down the road you decide to tell us what you did. I think it will be relevant to the discussion. ......and as a low handicapper and someone WELL versed in the Rules of Golf, mid to high handicappers will look to better players, like yourself, to see how they should play the game the right way. I hope it's something you consider.
  25. Yeah, I should have made the question more clear. I was referring to a standard shot. Not trying to work the ball either way. All conditions "normal". My mistake.
