  1. 1. I use Golf Pride New Decade Multi's. Little pricey but you get what you pay for. 2. Feel and durability. 3. Using the New Decade putter grip as well. 4. Never felt the need to try an oversized putter grip. 5. I like the idea of trying mid size grips on the wedges and may give it a try someday.
  2. I have a TaylorMade R11s in 9 degrees which can be adjusted plus or minus 1.5 degrees. An adjustable driver such as this may be good fit for you.
  3. Agreed. My first set was 2004 Big Bertha's. Fugly to say the least and I did not play them very well. Traded them for a set of RAC LTs and watched my scores go down from there.
  4. Been playing my Odyssey White Hot 2 Ball Blade for 8 years now. As others have said, stick with one and then you may find some consistency with your results. Why to do your part keeping the economy going LOL.
  5. Bought a 64 years ago and it saw one round of action. Now it is sitting in the closet collecting dust.
  6. Only 2. A 51 and 58. Makes club selection that much easier.
  7. If I were you I would consider eliminating a wedge with a 52 and 58 degree set up.
  8. For game improvement irons I love the look of my 09 Burners, but for blades.....love those Scratch Irons......nice sticks rebby.
  9. Well if it works, then I would say it was good advice. A text book swing is not for everyone..
  10. I played my R7 irons for several years and thought they were the best and that I would never find a better iron. The 09 Burners are a genuine vast improvement over the R7's. I used to have a bag full of TM's (with exception of my odyssey putter that I have had for 6 years,) but TM wedges are crap IMO and the drivers/fairways produce too much spin for me.
  11. Must be our egos...........
  12. Nothing wrong with taking a bogie on long par 4's. They usually have the most difficult handicap rating. Too many times I have seen doubles, triples or worse when trying to hard to reach in regulation on long par 4's.
  13. If you are looking for distance, try out the 09 TM Burner's. I don't think you will get anymore distance from X20's to X22's, but I have been wrong before....
  14. I just bought some Cobra S9's. Love 'em. Have you tried the Burner's? I have heard those to be superior to the R9's in the TM line. Haven't tried the R9's myself, but I tried the Burners and they were real nice but I had slightly better results with the S9's.
  15. ..............and hydrids are more versatile than fairway woods
  16. About 80 miles inland........live at the SCPGA courses (East Valley) in Calimesa.
  17. Now I'm thinking about the Titleist AP1's......
  18. Both of you are single digits with what I would assume much more experience in the game than I. With that being said, hotter/stronger or Game Improvement irons help me personally and well as others hit more GIR's, thus score better. The less club I have to use, the more chance I have at hitting that GIR. I was down to a 10 a year and a half ago with my hot R7's, (actually held a 9.8 for one round) mostly due to an above average short game (lots of scrambling). The long game has always been my weekness and I can use all the help I can get. The I3's just dont cut it for me.
  19. I think the Burners are out. Don't think I will like the longer shafts and they are still a little pricey. The PINGs are out too as I do not want to spend the coin for the G15's. I have found a lightly used set of Cobra S9's and TaylorMade R7's that I am watching right now on EBAY. Thanks guys. You have helped me knock it down to 2 options. I wish there was someone on the forum who can give me some insight on the Cobra's since I already know what to expect from the R7's.
  20. Odyssey makes great putters. I have had mine for 5 years and will never replace it. I have went through many drivers (finally found the one for me), and several irons/wedges, but have never had to look further for a putter.
  21. lmao...........that what I was thinking. As far as drivers are concerned, I was sold on TaylorMade drivers for years until I bought my . Give them a shot when you demo drivers.
  22. When I had a hdcp I posted my scores and stats on Golfsmith.com. Now that I am back in the game, I need to re-register.
  23. I would go with a 52 and a 58 in your scenario (2 wedges), or you can ditch that 4 iron and go with 3 wedges (50, 54, 58).
  24. Yes....the Ping Doc has to go down as one of the ugliest putters ever.
